LG G6 - Bootloop Problem - LG G6 Questions and Answers

hello,
my g6 is stuch at the logo lg. i can only reach (vol down + power) to factory data reset. i can't enter to download mode phone is restarting always.
do you have any solution for me please ?
thank you all for the answer

If it's not memory failure, You can try to clean USB port. Maybe it can't trigger (when You hold Vol Up and plug cable) download mode because there is problem with USB detection.

no. another solution ? i can make into fastboot mode but i cant unlock the bootloader because i cant activate developer options (im stuck on lg logo bootloop)

Octoplus or Z3x JTAG I'm afraid are Your only options. You can put G6 to EDL mode by test point but I couldn't find any repair firmware for EDL mode.

Hey all! I've been fighting with similar errors for a couple days and I figured out what happened. I was stuck in fastboot mode the first time due to installing the d802 Cyanogen mod on my d800 AT&T phone on accident (wiki threw me off...) and the second time I attempted to flash a boot.img that was close but not quite right for my phone, causing the boot verify fail issue.
In the first case, my phone eventually went dead and I was able to enter download mode by holding volume up and plugging in the cable while it was still dead. In the second, I found that holding all buttons (volume up, down, and power) continuously eventually made it shut off completely. BUT you have to KEEP holding it, even after it reboots!! Once I got to that stage, the LG Flash software worked wonderfully. Once you get it reset, double and triple check you have the right rom file, then check a few more times just to make sure. Hope that helps!

I probably souldn't have done that...
Code:
ERROR : BOOT certification verify
[830]-----------------------------------
[880]
[930]Secure booting Error!
[1030]
[1080]----------------------------------
That's the error message I get when I boot, this is after I hold the power down button for about 10sec. Then it goes back to black.
The solution seems to be here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 . Problem is that I used a kdz file to install my ROM and it doesn't have any img files.
When I connect my phone to my pc, a whole lot of local disks pop-up, of which I can acces only 1. This one has a lot of adsp.b00, adsp.b01, adsp.b02, etc files in it together with some other bXX (where XX is 01 to 26) files.
i haD usbhq_bulK and many drives all i had to do was flash tot.with flash tools if your doesnt go into download mode.. use srk toold to nuke download mode if it fails then open phone and short circuit the motherboard..

doesnt enter hard reset mode with the physical buttons

My lg g6 doesnt enter hard reset mode with the physical buttons, after a flash of firmware by kdz with lgup h871to h873 to us997 I could not do the hard reset and the computer does not start, the screen is left with an error in secure start up that says settings keeps stopping, and that msj appears all the time. When wanting to flash another firmware again by lg up, I get this error spc code does not match. then I can not do a hard reset because I can not enter the menu, or re-flash it or get it started.
some possible solution? HELP!
enter download mode again from powered off phone with volume + and insert usb cable and it should go to download mode and flash again and make sure to factory data reset so phone will boot, i did this for my h871 this morning and it completed succesfully but phone little sluggish and adb works fine, volte for att and wifi calling for t mobile working fine but fastboot is broken for some reason which was the reason i converted it to BL unlock but it doesnt help for the BL unlock.

To go to download mode
Normal method
1. Turn off phone
2. Hold down both volume keys
3. Plug in computer
Bootlooping
1. Plug in to computer
2. Hold down both volume keys
For a difficult phone
1. Connect usb to computer but not to phone
2. Hold down all 3 keys
3. When it buzzes release power and quickly plug in usb to phone.
It might take a few times to get it right.
If it's REALLY BAD
1. Wait for the battery to completely run down and use normal method.

Same problem. Do you have solution??
You can try booting into the system normally go into settings > about phone > click build number 7 times > go back > developer options > enable USB debugging then plug your phone into your PC download ADB if you don't have it already and do adb reboot bootloader

Thanks - my Samsung A71 is bricked, so no option to set USB Debugging or Unlock options from menus. I also kept booting to recovery screen but could not get to Download screen. The options for Difficult Phone above worked for me. As stated, it took a few times, but am finally able to access downloading menu. Thanks!!!

Good news

LG G6 (H870) stuck on boot screen after twrp flash

Hey everyone,
so here's my situation:
I unlocked the bootloader for my G6
I activated USB debugging and OEM unlock in developer options
I then flashed TWRP 3.4.0-1
Now the phone is stuck on the boot screen, when I hard reset (power button + volume down, then pressing power button again when G6 logo appears, then selecting "factory reset" and "yes" twice) the phone does not boot into TWRP but instead goes to the boot logo again and nothing happens. I tried leaving it for a while and it stayed like this until the battery ran out. When I plug it in, it starts the same procedure immediately. When I connect it to my pc, I cannot manage to flash anything because I can't boot into bootloader because the phone is not detected (my pc doesn't play the usb plug-in/unplug sound).
So my question really is: Did I kill my G6 since I am unable to flash anything or is there still an option to get bootloader running again? And yes, I did try the unbrick method under https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/lg-g6-unbrick-method-t3935924 but I get stuck at the point where you need to click "download" because my phone is not detected. I also heard about the method of shorting the pins beneath the flash but I don't know how to do that...
Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
I had the same problem and finally solved it by using the release of TWRP found here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-twrp-3-1-x-stable-official.3627595/
After flashing TWRP I followed those restarting steps :
Hold vol down + power for 10 seconds and your phone will power off.
Hold vol down + power / release power when the LG logo appears and then immediately hold power until the Factory Menu start
Menu select Yes
Confirm Yes
TWRP boots
Hope this will help
Edit : A more recent version of TWRP compatible with LG G6 is available here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-twrp-v3-2-3-1-for-h870-h872-us997-unofficial.3828254/

Urgent help please........

My lg g6 H870 bootlooping again and again. Download mode is not coming. Factory reset not working.
Please help me.
I never had to do this with my G6, but to unbrick my old LG L9 i had to invoke Download Mode manually, instead of waiting for the flash tool (connected via ADB) to perform a reboot to Fastboot to perform the actual flash process.
That never happened after upgrading from Windows 7 to 8.1 and later, but i suspected the phone's no longer supported TI OMAP SoC to be the culprit.
If i remember correctly for the real Download Mode the phone had to be switched off and while keeping volume up or down pressed(and not power, but i'm not sure) you had to attach phone to usb and if you didn't accidentially release the button during that , the phone would power up into the special D/L mode, unlike Fastboot which would be used otherwise.
Then Windows and flash tool would recognize the phone. With the original LG recovery tool performing online recovery it then worked, while with the unofficial tools and a kdz file it was trial and error for no reason.
But LG's trusted flash tool is no longer supported on the G6 since the Android 8 update, you need the proper new tool(which cannot even deal with UHD screens unlike the old one).
(The original LG flash recovery tool and the inofficial ones can both initiate a reboot- to- Fastboot AND recognize D/L mode and hopefully the current tool, too.
And you can always try to invoke Fastboot by power and vol up or down, but that was no longer an option with the L9 back then)

You need to do this
1. immediately after start connect usb cable to your device and pc, press and hold power button + volume down
2. asap as it reboots stop holding previously mentioned buttons (while screen is black) and press and hold volume up
that's all if you'll do it right Download mode should come up
