Hi, I've been trying to fix my camera for a week by now, everytime I open it, tells me it's busy by another app. I disabled it, removed updates, cleared cache, remains the same.
I reflashed the stock rom once again and still remain the same. In the last time I even updated it to Nougat but remains still the same. Tried safemode, same happens.
One of the other apps I installed to try it out, returned me a different error however, saying he couldnt get the camera, because the ID of that camera didnt existed (I don't remember by memory the exact words)
Did anyone experienced this and could overcome it ?

Hi all, i have been having a very bazaar problem lately...When my phone boots up i get a pop-up message indicating that the gapps process shutdown unexpectedly...and sometimes i may even get a acore crash too. Applications from the market do not download...when i select my download i will end up getting a gapps crash and then the supposed download just sits there saying "starting...". Google talk doesn't even open! It will just say that the process quit unexpectedly. Even after a fresh install with factory data reset all these problems will continue. The initial boot up screen/tutorial will even show a gapps crash. I have tried with 3 different versions of cyanogenmod all with the exact same problem..Each version i've tried with a2sd enabled and disabled, formatting the partition each time before a new install to ensure no data carry-over issues. I don't know what to do. To me it seems like it make be something on googles side...but i can't for the life of me figure out whats causing these wild problems. Help would be very much appreciated.
ANDROID Market problems
I've recently had the same problem with the market getting stuck on "starting download". I thought it was something I modified as I'm putting together a STARGATE theme of my own based on kron2's work with this site and the theme for "Open Home" for DWANG's newest ROM. What worked for me was going back 1 restore point at a time till I found one that didn't have the problem (NANDROID backup). I also had luck with flashing DWANG's original unmodified ROM 1.17.1. I had the same problem when I flashed 1.16 ..weird. Up till 2 days ago I didn't have any problems changing anything in it. Others have said that they tried opening G-Talk at the same time and some how going between the 2 the problem would right itself. If you find out anything definite about what the exact problem is let me know as I'm going to keep looking for the answer myself.

I have searched and it seems many people have the Market/Gtalk problem.
I have the same problem (with an Eclair 2.1 Cyanogenmod rom) and I've not been able to find a solution. Wiping the cache makes nothing.
Anyone knows how to solve it?
Huh. I had a problem with the market at first with cyan 5.0.8 . I went in the terminal and ran fix_permissions after su and haven't had any problems since. Might try that

Hi, I'm currently using Aurora ICS from dzo.
Every time I do a fresh install the camera works fine, however, after a while it simply stops working.
I've tried the 3 wipes and clearing the camera's data, and it still doesn't work.
It happens every time I do a fresh install of ICS, it produces this exact behavior every time.
Is there any way to fix this?
EDIT: I have found the cause of this. This was cause by trying to change the ID of the phone to trick the market. Revert back to the u88oo fixed it. (but now I can't play asphalt 6 anymore T_T)
I have an XT1644. I rooted it and installed Xposed about a week ago. Out of nowhere, today the camera no longer works. I have not installed any new apps or done anything else to the phone. When I open up the camera, the image is all black and the onscreen buttons are not responsive. I have to wait a bit and then it says "camera error camera must be restarted". I have rebooted into safemode and factory reset and the problem persists. Anybody have any idea whats going on?

I flashed stock and that fixed it, but then I again rooted and the problem returned. If I boot into "factory mode" the camera works. On safe mode it doesn't, so I'm guessing it's not a hardware problem.
i had this problem yesterday.
Rooted no problems, Installed Xposed stable version, and then out of the blue after 1 day my camera wasn't working.
Even after i disabled the modules it still was not working.
I had to restore a backup i made the night before....

I fixed it by flashing the newest stock firmware. The old stock firmware was not only messing up the camera, but other things as well. Ever since I did that, I've had 0 problems. Rooted and Xposed have been working just fine for weeks. Give it a shot.
roygbiv859, where do you get the "latest firmware" and how to flash it?
I am hitting this problem and my phone says software is already up to date. Same thing as you guys -- camera and flashlight only work in factory mode.
I have Xposed and root as well, but I remember things used to be working all together.
I noticed that in "factory mode" cellular network does not work, and battery never charges, otherwise I do not really mind running in that mode.
I saw a version number "MPJ24.139-48" at bottom of status page, is that the firmware number? Looks like I am already on the latest.
So here's what happened: I upgraded stock 5.0.2 on my Romanian Orange branded G901F to stock Marshmallow (6.0.1, via the phone's update).
After the update, the phone's main camera crashed and (using the standard camera app) there would be an error message: "Warning. MediaServer failed. Camera needs restart" with only an "OK" button on it.
I've looked around the web for a while and tried everything, from clearing the app's cache and data to rolling back to 5.0.2 (via ODIN, another stock ROM, so Knox is still intact), but nothing worked. The main camera crashes with the same error every single time, while the "selfie" camera works flawlessly (and has worked even on the 6.0.1).
Has anyone encountered something like this? Any solutions to this?
Later edit: It would seem I managed to trip Knox, one of the ROMs I tried seems to have been unsigned. Bummer. Still no luck though.
Hello, My phone's (main)camera is not being registered by the stock camera app , neither by Gcam. But it shows up in apps like instagram and snapchat and works just fine, no crashes or such. I tried resetting my phone through settings and the ****ty bootloader you get with a locked H870DS (un rootable) model and it didn't seem to work.
What I am thinking is, there's something wrong with the camera ID allocations of the camera but still confused as to why even after resetting, it won't work. Any way that I can erase the system and other partitions and do a fresh stock os installation? UGH it was so easy with root. Lg made a great device ****ty by locking it down for me.
Update: So I forgot to add how I came to the conclusion of camera ID being allocated wrongly. When I try to open the stock camera app by long pressing and selecting 'Selfie cam' , it opens up the wide angle rear camera. Either the front cam is done for or my device is.
So everyone's in quarintine but no one wants to help?
Hey,
today i tried to recreate your problem, and i got your problem.
Problem came when i flashed Pixel Experience Android 10 ROM against branded stock Android 9 (branded by Polish Play).
How to solve it? After many trial and errors, problem dissapeared when i flashed stock Android 8 (branded by Polish Play in my case), and did FOTA update.
I hope i helped.
