Camera Problem - "Ghost" Reflection - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi, I've been using a Redmi Note 7 for three weeks now and I'm very happy with the device.
Yesterday I took some photos and found a weird reflection in the ones that have a strong light source. The lenses are clean and I've tried with the stock camera and the GCam, with case and without case, but the "ghost" reflections are still there. The effect occurs in both front and rear cameras.
When researching, I've found that it could be lens flare or internal reflection. However, I'd like to know if other Note 7 users have experienced the same thing or if it could be a problem with my phone's hardware.
Thanks!

How strange, I have no problems with that and I doubt it is a global camera problem, it must be failing something with your lens maybe

Then it may be an internal problem, what a shame. It seems that I will need to replace the phone. Thanks for your response!

Camera quality

Thought I'd have a look at the quuality of the camera, compared to the Desire. Discovered that I have a problem with focus on the left side of the picture, and wondered whether anyone else has it.
3 photos, reduced using the same method. Canon (for reference), DHD and Desire:

Now, we can look at 1:1 crops to examine the quality:
You can see that stuff on the left is out of focus - this shot shows it well:
Finally, my phone is an early one with bad camera and sim cover alignment. Not sure if it matters, but here are close ups anyway. Anyone else with a left hand focus issue?
I can definitely see your point, I will test this on my DHD tomorrow.
i can just about see it, but honestly i would worry more about the over sharpening and terrible white balance on this phone. testing it earlier it gave my girlfriend the skin tone of a Simpson...
just took a shot outside, havnt changed any settings
I've just taken delivery of a DHD and have exactly the same left side focus problem. How did you resolve this - or you returned / replaced your unit?
weird. mine seems to be fine.

Black spots on camera

So i just updated to KF3 since it just released and rooted afterwards. Then I noticed this in the camera.

I'm sure its not hardware problem because before the update it was not looking like this. And yes,the lens is clean. Tried cleaning it a lot of times but looks like its with the camera software.
Have you taken several shots to see if it's in the same place each time?
Sadly they're always on the same spot. I'm downloading my old firmware now (KE7) and hopefully it goes back to normal.
duuuude u have takin a picture to a ghost kiddin. try to chance the resolution of ur camera.
oh, btw, one question: they appear in the picture 2? or u can see it just on u`r sgs2 screen?
They appear on the picture too as you can see it in the picture i posted.
indeed, sorry, i`m a little bit tired. How is with the downgrade? something changed?
Just checked mine on kf3 and no spots, look at the glass protecting your camera and look for small scratches or marks? It could be that sadly?

[Bug?] White/gray stripes in low brightness or black photos

Hi, I've a very weird problem with my Nexus 4 rev 11. When I take low brightness or black at the edge photos, an "awesome" grey/white stripe goes alive. I was on 4.2.2 stock, wiped many times, changed many kernels and now I'm on latest CyanogenMod nightly: the weird bug is still here. I hope it's not an hardware fault because for bad luck Bri-talians that can't buy a nexus 4 in the Italian shops like me, send the phone to be repaired outside Italy it's almost impossible...
Here is a totally black photo with the bug.

The stripes don't always appear at the same place and it appears on selected photo app that works as the stock one like Snap Camera, but not on istagram app
Any advice? Please help me or the phone will fly straight through the window. Maybe not but I hope to solve that weirdness...
Can you test of your nexus is affected too? Simply put a finger on the camera... Thank you

[Q] Dust under the camera lens?

Hi! I bought G2 just a week ago and I just need to confirm if this issue exists for others as well. Not to mention that I've used my phone extremely clearly and kept it out of dusty areas. The dust is under the lens, not above.
In any case, could someone suggest me what I can do to remove it or prevent further scratches?

I'm worried if my phone has weak sealings cause my old Xperia arc had dust appear under its lens only after a year or 2 of use. :/

Lens Flare

Does anyone here suffer from heavy lens flare on Redmi Note 7?
I know sometimes lens flare happen when you take picture directly into light source. But I think this amount is too much and it's also has a weird shape.
So it is normal for Redmi Note 7 to has this kind of lens flare?

Rn7 don't have great optics, so it is expected. Camera sensor is ok, but whit out good optics pictures still will be average.

Nonsense. Nothing to do with that. This sometimes happens even with top of the line DSLR cameras. You're shooting into the sun!!!
Light can reflect off of the sensor (CMOS) and bounce back to the lens and back again to the sensor. Some cameras have up to 6 an more lenses!!!
This is not a defect of your phone. It’s just physics playing tricks on you. The lenses on this kind of cameras are so much compressed, reflections are impossible to avoid.
Even iPhone have the famous green dot... https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/9qznxm/iphone_xsxs_maxxr_glowing_green_dot_in_images/
