I've noticed that the HDR mode is always active on either the back and front cameras, this happens both for photo and video modes. I've tried to reset camera settings but it didn't work. Other camera apps do not have this problem and pro mode works fine. I'm wondering if a factory reset would fix it.
I'm on August security patch.

So I've seen an issue occur when taking selfies, note only on the system camera app. It's as if the color saturation and brightness are way off. Three of the photos were taken in selfie mode, the clear photo was taken while I was recording with the front camera. Recording is fine and looks as it should, the wide selfie also looks normal. I tested selfies in snapchat as well and it works as it should, I also tested the system camera in other apps like the google messages app and it will take front facing photos normally. I'm not too sure what's going on here and want to see if anyone else has had this issue and if they have resolved it.
I am going to just rewipe the phone as clearly this is a sort of system bug.
Things about my phone:
Originally ATT S7 Edge
I flashed the latest U firmware on this device and the TMobile modem firmware.
I didn't have any issues occur until now.
The attachments are too large for XDA to host so heres a link to the photos I took, hosted on drop box.

I have the Arnova8G2 GCAM version 8.3b1 installed on my Asus Max Pro M1 (3gb variant) running .337 update but suddenly back camera portrait mode stopped working and every shot just looks like a normal shot without the "bokeh effect". The front cam portrait mode works flawlessly and shows the bokeh. I have tried multiple gcam versions, uninstall and re install, even did a full factory reset but no luck. I have only noticed this issue after the .337 update, i have also not changed any settings from when the back portrait mode was working. Btw, back camera portrait mode is working on the STOCK camera app but the portrait images taken from gcam (when it used to work) is still better in my opinion. Is anyone else experiencing this? If you have the same version of GCAM(8.3b1) and running .337, 3gb variant. Can you please compare if your normal gcam shot vs portrait mode is showing that bokeh effect?
PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE SAME CONFIGURATION WITH MINE
GCAM version 8.3b1
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (3gb)
Android 8.1 (.337 November update)
Thanks!

The portrait works only with human objects!! Not on any objects! Stock camera gives us portrait on any objects!

Oh so that's why. Being able to take any portrait shot on the stock cam automatically made me think that the gcam portrait mode does the same thing. Thanks for the heads up man!
Yesterday i received system update (SKYW1905210OS01MP2). After update to the latest version camera become can't focus.
i tried to use manual focus or pro mode still can't.
Anybody facing the same issue?
Sorry it's of no use, I am on the same system build as yourself currently and tried to recreate the issue, but I've not experienced any issues with the camera focusing. tried with all the camera modes hdr on/off so on/off and ai on/off but the focusing always seemed fine.
Sure now I've typed this Al experience it tho lol,
When I switched to the wide-angle camera in the camera app, the camera crashes and says "camera unavailable" and keeps crashing until I clear data in settings. I have tried putting in a new wide-angle camera to no avail. All the other cameras work in the camera app. Is there anything else I can try? All the other cameras work. It's just the wide-angle rear camera.
In certain video modes (normal, short, timelapse) my Mi9T tilts and flickers the picture to the left on the screen. It's really weird because after installing any 3rd party camera software it works normally.
Any thoughts?
Update: meanwhile it turned out that the image stabilization is the culprit - with IS off it is ok but once I switch it back it happens again...
