My stock camera freezes whenever i open it for the first time,i have to switch modes to get it working.
as long as the camera is in memory it works fine but the moment you clear it and open the app it happens again.
I am gcam installed and is having no such issue but i prefer the stock camera.
did factory reset issue persists.
I have unlocked bootloader so i was thinking of uninstalling the camera app from adbfast tool.
should i do that?
can i install the stock camera app using the apk?
and can anyone provide the stock camera apk to try the same.
will unistalling the camera cause any issue?
any help will be appreciated
i am having the indian k20 running miui global 10.3.6
this is a software issue in global rom you have to wait for update to fix it or go for xiaomi.eu rom if you unlocked the bootloader.

This is what actually worked! I had no update available (miui 11.0.3), didn't want to factory reset my phone and the photo app reset didn't solve anything, but activating the location permission did! Thank you.

How did you fix it? I'm also experiencing no rotation.
Edit: Cleared the cache, all seems fine now...
I'm also experiencing no rotation with some camera apps. It always records video as if I'm holding the phone sideways. I unticked all the xposed modules I have and wipe cached with twrp and the app's cache but the problem still persists.

The previous posts reminded me that Google maps had given me the option to stop the screen from rotating. I tried to find where to turn rotation back on but couldn't find it. So, I went i to app manager in my phone and cleared the cache and data for the maps app.
when that alone didn't work, I restarted my phone. Now rotation is working again. Good luck, hope this helped.

Maybe is illegal to record vertical videos in your country. Just a joke.
Some apps, like Horizon have that feature to record videos always horizontally no matter how you hold the phone.

Have you read this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/question-mm-users-uninstalling-facebook-t3363211
I read so many threads but none could help me solve the issue.
So I guess the only way is to re-flash the stock firmware and then use another App to delete these facebook apps.
Really annoying as I just finished setting up anything as I wanted it to be.

I think you only need the libgnustl_shared.so file, no need to flash ROM again.
Poorly only libgnustl_shared.so didn't work out for me.
Luckily reflashing the ROM did work out.
I've done some testing removing bloatware and noticed it's Titanium Backup's fault... If I use any other tool to remove bloatware I don't face this problem with the rotation... I had to reflash the custom rom I'm using several times to reach this conclusion...

Hello guys,
i've bought the p8lite from a few days and it was working great.
Suddendly the camera has stopped working. I keep getting the message "Impossibile avviare la fotocamera, verificare che non siano in esecuzione applicazioni esterne in background (come torcia elettrica). Chiudere le applicazioni in questione e riprovare.".
Translated is like "Unable to start camera, check that there aren't any external app in background (such as torch). Close those apps and try again"
I've not installed any app yet, nor I have rooted or flashed the phone so I really don't know what to do with it.
Help me please!
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Maybe flashing twrp and flashing B598/599 stock will help.
Also, when you open the camera app you hear a sound from the actual camera (the lens) ?
I had a similar issue. When I installed a new update etc. the phone was fine. However after switching Google Now Voice (I mean saying ,,Ok Google" from ANY screen) it didn't go well with other apps - in my case it was Camera. So switching Google Ok Voice off helped me. But I'm not really sure, whether it's a same case. Maybe some third party app is blocking something? Good Luck!
im embarrased because camera app works sometimes, i mean, usually works 1 day or less and then shows error msg.
Yesterday i restarted my phone (normal restart) and then started to work. So i do not lose hope

I had that issue but no longer after B20 update and factory reset....
I always do factory reset after updates
I've figured out what the problem was. It all started when I made a change to the build.prop enabling the hidden multi-window setting. Even when I tried removing the change, saving it and rebooting my device, the camera still crashed. Factory reset does nothing either. I've tested this a couple times to confirm that this was the issue. The only "fix" was to restore my device from a prior backup that did not involve a modified build.prop.

I have a different phone. The axon mini. My camera once was crashing when switching to manual mode. Nothing could help other than a nandroid restore.
Time when by and accidentally I found the fix.
Thanks great the build pro file from a stock rom. Go to system folder delete ir rename the old one and paste the new one there.
Reboot and ......boom....cameta sorted. No factory reset or restore needed.

After rooting my phone the share button in gallery is not working anymore and after pressing it nothing happens. when I reflash stock rom it's working fine but somehow after rooting it's not working
share button in Google photos and file manager and everything else is working just Huawei stock gallery
Anybody knows how to fix it?
Clearing data for gallery and reset preferences did nothing
Tried safe mode to check if there is any app causing it but no luck too

Did you have installed Xposed? For me, it was Xposed that caused delay in opening the menu.. it took lot longer, about 30-45 seconds, for share menu to appear..
Try TWRP

Hi Ahmedoov
Try installing TWRP recovery (guides are here on the P8-Lite forum) then clear your data/cache partitions, ( Make a backup of everything first , I recommend Titanium Backup)

Thanks for remembering me about Xposed, totally forgot about it
I disabled Xposed and it works so I tried to enable the modules one by one and after 9 reboots finally found the reason. This one caused it

I'll try to contact the developer now. Thanks again

My Mi A1 keeps rebooting every half hour or so. There is no specific app or process that I can point a finger to. It just freezes momentarily and reboots. It's extremely frustrating. Has anyone experienced this with the phone? I have not rooted or anything. I think the issue is more so after the September security patch.

I haven't experienced this. You should backup your data and factory reset. If the issue persists you should contact the seller for a replacement.

Hi, I managed to isolate the problem to a specific SIM card in a specific location. As per my understanding, this is something to do with corrupt packets of data being transmitted via your network provider through a specific site (or several sites), which causes a reboot of your device. To isolate the problem do the following:
1. Switch off any one SIM card from Settings > Sim Cards
2. Monitor your phone for issues.
3. If the issue is replicated, switch on the SIM card switched off in '1' above and switch off the other SIM.
4. Monitor your phone for issues.
This should be able to identify the corrupt SIM. At this point, I permanently switched off the trouble SIM while at work (which was where the reboots kept occurring) and the phone started working normally without any reboots. I would switch on the trouble SIM in other areas and it did not cause any issues. A week later, I decided to do a SIM replacement on the trouble SIM, and this has managed to reduce the number of reboots to once a week, which I can live with.
Hope this helps!

Guess I'll have to go with that, unfortunately.
I wanted to keep my bootloader locked so I don't see that annoying message of unlocked bootloader.
I finally got Feb update patch but I'm still having reboot problems.
