Hey guys,
So I pre-ordered the Note 10+ in Aura Glow color and I've been pondering what case to put it in that won't hinder it's awesome looks.
I came across the Slickwraps Naked skins, and they seem like a perfect fit for my needs. I checked on Youtube to see if anyone else had done a comparison between the glossy and matte versions of the naked skin, but it doesn't seem like anyone has.
I'm curious if the glossy naked skin is as prone to fingerprints as the normal back of the phone. It seems the matte is less of a fingerprint magnet, but I don't know if it will block the "glow" on the back of the phone.
Has anyone else thought of doing this or had these skins on other phones in the past?
Subscribed, I'm interested too.
I have used them, it still gets fingerprints but nowhere near as bad as the bare oem glass. Also, some clear cases stick to the clear wrap giving it a water bubble look. I wish I had a picture to show you what i mean. With my note 8 and note 9 and a slick wrap clear skin, tech 21 pure amd speck Presidio clear didnt stick to the clear wrap. UAG, otterbox clear symmetry, and spigen clear case all stuck to the clear wraps and gave it that water bubble look. Those were both on the note 8 and 9 with my personal experience. Not sure about other cases
The TRANSPARENT SERIES Skins are amazing! They have one for the note 10 plus...
Stay away from SLICKWRAPS. Terrible company.

Thank you for the tip! I got both the glossy and matte version and I'm going to try them out, take some pictures and share in case anyone else is interested. Got em both for $6 thanks to a sale they had.
People keep saying "Stay away from Slickwraps" and some other curse words about them, but for $6 how bad can it be? Does the wrap chew through metal or something?!

I have had d brand, slickwrap and a company in the UK called xtreme skins. All three were decent, slickwrap has a way better color/style selection and always has discounts. D brand was really good to, packaged a little nicer and shipped faster but selection wasnt as good as slickwrap imo, xtreme skins has cool options like a cutout for the samsung emblem(kinda like what dbrand does for apple) but quality was a notch below dbrand and slickwrap. Still pretty good though but also took a few weeks to get.

Yes definitely show some of the matte clear style, I ordered clear and carbon fiber style like I do every year. I'm pretty sure you'll recieve 2 of each(2 gloss and 2 matte) because when you order a naked style, they ship 2 incase you f up. Atleast that's how it's been the last 2 devices I ordered for.
I've bought many Slickwraps skins and Dbrand skins going back years. Dbrand are much more precise and fit to the edges better, but Slickwraps have a better selection (love their nature series)
I think both are shady in some of the stuff they've done like promotions with winners that are related to the company, or spamming reddit with bots dissing the competition.

Fyi, slickwraps has a 70% off everything sale which ends in 15 hours. I just picked up the note 10 plus clear skin for $5 plus $5 for shipping. Never tried a skin, but will be now because of this sale.

Please update Pictures as soon as possible once you get both the device and the skin. I pre-ordered the Aura Glow edition but want to cover it with a Naked Skin from Slickwraps to avoid fingerprint smudges. Let us know if it retains the awesome looks after using the skin as the pictures might not show it
accurately.
Also, update about which one looks better: Matte or Glossy.
Thanks.

Have to agree. Last two times I placed a order it took them 3 weeks to send. Both times I had to send a email asking wheres my order? The last one I got for the Note 10 plus it had a bunch of pin holes around the hole cut outs. One of the skins is useless.

Never had issues with them. Been ordering from them and dbrand for years.
I got mine today, i ordered the matte finish for my aura Glow. It adds some texture and increases grip, but at the same time it takes away from the aura glow finish. It looks more like silver now.

So I'm interested in this screen protector, as it offers edge to edge protection along with some other features I like:
amazon.com/Skinomi-TechSkin-Protector-Lifetime-Warranty/dp/B009W6C3YO/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header - sorry cant link yet due to post requirements.
However, as I'm in the UK its not available to me. I've searched everywhere for it, they just dont sell it here at-all.
In desperation I turned to a friend who lives in the US, and asked him if he could order it to him first, then ship it to me.
So, my question to you Skinomi owners:
What are the dimensions of the box the screen protector comes in? I know the shipping weight (3.8 oz), but the dimensions are no-where to be found on the web. I've looked on the USPS website for shipping rates to the UK, and if it can fit in a "large" envelope and weighs 3.8 oz, then I'm only paying $4 for shipping, which is good. But if it cant, I'm looking at $70+ just for shipping :S
Description of the large envelope:
Other than rolls: Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36"
Rolls: Max. length 36". Max length and twice the diameter combined 42"
Help please?
Edit, for mods;
The question when posting this thread was "Is this a question?"
Though this is a question, its not directly linked to a Q&A of a nexus 4, thus not wanting to be posting a accessories question in the nexus Q&A, I posted here. Sorry if I'm wrong, feel free to move the thread as you wish mods. :good:
I've still got my box, even though I don't use the Skinomi anymore (ended up with a Spigen). Here you go.
4 3/8" x 7 1/8" x 1"
Approximately.
Why you don't order this from eBay or directly from Skinomi website??

I just got it from eBay, thanks for the idea - its still shipping from the US but I only paid $9 for postage with an estimate of 12 days :good:
I bought a tech skin for my phone and tablet from amazon.com. you can have an account with a UK address. It was cheaper from skinomi on Amazon than through there own site. Also only took around 4 days to arrive. I think in total it was $20 or so delivered to the UK.

I got mine 5 days ago from CA (I'm in the UK), the protector does feel good (not too rubbery), though it doesn't have a high quality finish as MediaDevil has, plus it does peal with my BALLISTIC case, I did get around this with six 1mm sellotape rectangles, their barley visible, and they keep the protector from pealing on the edges. Overall an alright product, I definitely overpaid, but with lifetime warranty, I might make a clam soon.
I used Skinomi on my HTC Sensation before I discovered Best Skins Ever, BSE are much better - they're much less resistive to touch (feel almost like glass) and they do a case optimised version which leaves a small gap around the edges so cases/bumpers won't lift the protector, or a full version which fits to the edges.
I do like the packaging of Skinomi and the premium cloth and squeegee it comes with though.
Mines come tomorrow and I'll leave a comment on its quality, etc.
I hope my seidio case comes too.
Pros: Self-healing that actually works..
Cons: Everything else.
Think I might just go with "Just like glass"
Mine came in today but I'm waiting to install it till tomorrow night. Gotta work tomorrow
So I installed it and it's okay. I'm keeping it because I paid fifteen bucks for it and I don't want to run rawdog without one. I have never liked screen protectors. My gnex had one on it when I bought it and I couldn't stand it. I ended up removing it. It was a zagg I think.
I think I'll buy one of the tempered ones soon.
Just not all that impressed.

Keep your fingers wet. Do it in a hot steamy bathroom to minimize dust.
Follow the included instructions.
I've got one of these. Imo, they are easier to apply than other dry application screen protectors I've purchased in the past. And come with a neat microfiber cloth. I also enjoy the textured protector for the back of the device. It came with pieces to cover the sides, top, and bottom too but those weren't so simple to make use of unfortunately.

Just get a BSE, they're cheaper, better and deliver to the UK. Trust me, I've tried pretty much every wet apply screen protector there is over the past couple of years
This screen protector is a total pos! It is constantly peeling off. & stretching
Back side does not stay sticky
Also every where my case is touching it. It had faded to a matte finish.
I would try to get some pics later today.
I think I will stick with Zagg.

Okay so I just need to iron out a few details, so if someone could help me that'd be great. The thing is, I live in India and my friend is going to the US and I'm asking him to pick up the phone for me from my cousin's house. But he's quite... dumb, so I want to clear out as much as I can from here.
1 - How long does RMA take these days? I know it used to take a few weeks when the demand was much higher but now I don't really know.
2 - Suppose my cousin's not at home when the delivery guy comes, will he have to contact the company to get the guy to come deliver it again?
3 - I'm going to ask my cousin to use the phone for a few days to check out if it's perfectly fine. What should I ask him to look out for?
Accessory questions :
1 - I'm thinking of using XtremeGuard full body protector + Diztronic black matte TPU case. Do these go well? Are there any better alternatives in this price range? My main priority is protection, aesthetics are secondary. I drop my phone a lot!
2 - I also want cheap, cheap ear buds. Are these my best bet? http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-190336-Crystal-Buds-Black/dp/B0027P9BN8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Thanks!
1) There is no way to know how long it will take. It ships when it ships. It's any ones guess...
2) When it does ship, your account will receive an email from Google with a UPS tracking URL. Expect it will take 2 days, but check the URL each day, and when it's states it's "out for delivery", they will come between 09:00 and 18:00 local time. Here in NYC, they ring the bell once and only give you 15 seconds to get to them, then leave. They will try once more the next day, then it's off for an adventure to the UPS warehouse to hunt down the package.
3) Lots of existing threads on the common complaints (defects) users have had.

I almost bought the Diztronic but chose the ArmorBox instead. Very happy I did.
The ArmorBox fits perfectly, gives me a good grip on the phone, has a kickstand for watching videos, and most importantly........... protects the phone well.
It's only has 3 stars on Amazon because the early models didn't fit properly. Recent reviews are very positive.

Diztronic fits perfectly as well. Don't need the kickstand.

I use a Diztronic case and it fits well and I like the feel of it. However Acase came out with a case for the N4 which I just ordered as I have one on my galaxy S3 and love it. It is dual layer case so better protection, here is the link to it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acase-Super...412085?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4852c6e635

Whoa! I like that case! Looks just as good as the Diztronic, plus provides dual layer protection. (I'm not sure whether dual layer is better than just a single layer of TPU, though) The reviews seem fantastic as well. This has just jumped up my preferred list.
Thanks! BTW, which screen protector are you using on your S3? Is the case peeling it off?

I don't think anybody does drop test videos with cases.
As for the ArmorBox being ugly, that's a matter of opinion.
Every other case has reviews complaining about slickness but not the ArmorBox. To each their own.
Edit: just reread the Acase reviews at amazon. Even buyers who give it 5 stars mention it's slippery.
Good luck with that.

Yup I guess it is a matter of opinion about the looks.
And yeah, I was sad that Acase is slippery. So what I was thinking was that since it's a dual layer case (where the hard case covers the tpu) I'll remove the outer layer (the hard case) when I'm setting it on an uneven surface. I think it might not slip if the tpu is in contact with the surface.
Thanks for your reply!
Received my Boost Mobile Sharp Aquos Crystal on October 16, 2014 and after a few hours of tinkering,
started shopping for the usual case / holster with belt clip and clear screen protectors. Here are what
I ordered on eBay for my new smartphone . I will promptly post reviews of each upon receipt:
Case / Holster $5.99 <Received 10/20/2014. stitching quality is decent but case is so tight, can hardly get phone in/out & zero padding inside case. Seller admitted size error, refunded.
Next, I ordered this case for $5.99 < This seller DID NOT send me the case as pictures in their eBay listing. They sent me a case that is too small for this phone AND has cutouts that would allow the corners of the phone to be damaged if dropped. Package label says case is for a Samsung phone, not this Sharp phone. I contacted seller, no response in past 24 hours. Ordered from a 2nd ebay seller with same results. My search for a GOOD case/holster continued.
NOVEMBER 6, 2014 UPDATE: Finally found a case/holster that IS THE CORRECT SIZE AND protects the ENTIRE Sharp Aquos Crystal: $7.95 case / holster.
Screen Protectors (pack of 6) for $1.99 < Received in 4 days & perfect fit for this phone. Note: Pull back Tab #2 slightly BEFORE applying to phone or you might not be able to remove it after you iron out the bubbles.
Both prices including free delivery in USA.

Another option if you like the nakedness of the Crystal is TechSkin from Skinomi. I just got mine yesterday and its very eye-catching. Its an adhesive phone skin and screen protector(I got the black carbon fiber). When shopping for it, I was a little apprehensive that it would look cheesy, but its way better than I hoped for. The way its cut comes right up to the chrome and makes it stand out. Its textured too, so its not just some cheap sticker. The good thing about it is you can still use a case. I didn't use the screen protector though; I don't know, my phone just want to show all its glassy glory. I got mine on Amazon for around $12. They also have woods and brushed metals.

That actually looks terrific! I saw that and the other stick-on cases on Amazon you mentioned, but gave no second-thought since the manufacturer pictures looked chintzy and not worth it.
You know, that's what I thought too. But once I got it on, my son walked by on his way to the kitchen and was like "Wow." That's a lot coming from a 19 year old. The quality is way higher than I expected, a real high-end look and feel.
Late as this post is, anyone try the snap-on cases? I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OOGDRVK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Clear-Ice brand carbon-fiber snap-on case, sort of like a bumper case on the iPhone 5S. I do like the idea of the sticker thing, but it doesn't appeal to me, personally. I want the device more sealed in.
I'm getting my phone and case on the 10th, so I'll see then. I'm just curious if there's been more exploration than these stickers, or adding a tertiary pocket for your phone.

Actually, I got my phone and the case and am impressed by it. It snaps on with some click, it holds well, and it fits the nature of a bumper case quite well. My real complain stems from it not being an actual carbon fiber cover. It's just this gloss shell with a bunch of black squares gridlocked together to imitate carbon fiber in appearance and nothing more. It's actually more slippery than the naked phone. It protects it, I'll admit. The snaps over the edges actually protrude that little bit out from the screen, giving it the most subtle protection from surfaces.
Disappointingly, I ruined the screen protector in the process. I'll probably either buy a set or look up how to clean one and apply them properly.

Hello, my original screen protector is coming off
What do you suggest should I do? Samsung does not change it, does it?
I read the glass screen protectors on the market are not so goods, too may problems with fingerprints and so on..
Well just buy a new one from amazon... I. Just order a 2 pack spigen pack 7.99 on amazon... This one has light scratches and the spigen on my note 9 is brilliant...
On the finger print side can't say as haven't put it but will tomorrow. People on the reviews say it works fine so...
Samsung does not replace it but they offer a similar version to the OEM that came on the phone. I remember seeing a lot of talk about them being $29.xx for a three pack. That seemed kind of high to me when for not much more you could do the Dome Glass. There have been mixed reviews of the Dome Glass. The most common complaint seems to be that it is difficult to install. It looks simple and straight forward, watching the videos on YouTube, but in the real world things are never perfect. There is one video on YouTube, 14 screen protectors for the S10+, or something like that and the vlogger puts on, tests and talks about all 14 different screen protectors. If you don't want to watch the whole video, it kind of long, he lists his recommendations in order from the best to the worst in the video notes. Over at Android Central I posted a question about this, https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...dome-glass-stock-something-else-new-post.html, and was surprised how many people are going without anything. I keep watching the front camera area for scratches and have just about convinced myself to go naked too. Mine isn't lifting up but it is pretty scratched up with a few deep enough to feel.
Just use it without the film. The sensivity in fingerprint sensor is amazing!
I am using this one from amazon and found it really good.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RW748Q4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I saw that some protector are above the camera, others not. I read that it is not good for the lens to have a film over.. Am I right?
Screen protectors don't provide drop protection for phones with edge to edge displays and minimal bezels because the vast majority of the time a phone gets dropped on one of its sides rather than the area the screen protector is covering.
But people who walk around with their phone in their pocket or in a bag will scratch up their displays if they don't use a screen protector. The display doesn't ever have to come into contact with anything as obvious as coins or keys to get scratched--particles of sandlike grit that turn up inside a pocket will scratch a smartphone screen.
Whether or not you need a screen protector pretty much depends on how you carry your phone but people who think they are purchasing drop protection often end up disappointed.

Spigen neoflex had bad orange peel effect on the note 8 and note 9 series.

Thanks for taking the time taking pics, their film has too much orange peel for my liking.

Well I thought that was bad as soon I put it but after a few hrs the marks do go away and its nice... Well the protection vs the original is better to be fair
Also worth mentioning that the blue light filter is on the the pics and is almost all the way up... So maybe why looks orange.
Was bummed that my go to spigen liquid crystal is pretty awful for this phone (the sides are mad flimsy). Trying to find some that are crystal clear on the back yet offer decent drop protection all around. Seems like reviews are saying the otterbox one is the best... but man $50 ain't nothing. I'd still pick it up if I can't find any others that are comparable for cheaper.
I do like the supcase one for previous phones, but I just wish the sides weren't black.
I bought this one. It looks much nicer on my phone than I was expecting. Its back is very clear / transparent.

I like the Tech21 - Evo Check Case for Samsung Galaxy Note10+ and Note10+ 5G - Smoky Black
I got it from best buy for 40 bucks but have 15 bucks in certificates so that helped. They have a clear version as well.

Are you seeing any watermarks ? Unfortunately this case is showing small ones for me

Torras clear has a great feel and slim profile .. I will be posting some pics and thoughts later on this week ..

Note10+
Tozo case looks great and offers decent protection.
Only cost me $A13 from Amazon prime

Using this case right now and love it.

I use the Rigke Fusion clear case.
More protection than a wrap, but it is very minimal.

Works great for me. I have the aura back so I can show it off.

Pretty much his same setup and rationale. A good value. An extra, it's also mil-spec rated.
Otterbox Symmetry Clear is my first choice, but not cheap at $49. Ringke Fusion is my second choice and very affordable at $9.99. Both cases have a crystal clear back so the true nature of the Aura Glow will show. Otterbox is slightly thicker and firmer all the way around.Great bumper protection.
Ringke is slimmer and more flexible. Good bumper protection.
case on left is Otterbox

case to the right is Ringke

Added bonus is with "[emoji363] Flashlight" on, it creates a Halo effect with some of these clear cases. As seen with the Ringke

Although I do not like soft clear cases, the one that comes included is really good, no water mark effect, not flimsy a the sides, beeing from samsung, fits exactly, I am using it in the mean time until I receive the UAG plasma case in ice color

I Love UAG cases... But, this case will not work with the wireless powershare features. I also wanted to retain the Aura Glow feature and it's completely blocked with this case. So for me, it's a no go. But if those things I mentioned aren't a deal break for you, then you'll have a very solid case. This case is not flexible and it feels nice and sturdy. Great case overall except for the 2 reasons that personally don't work for me.

About the OtterBox defender. But had trouble getting an in and out of my pocket easily. Now I'm using this
SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro Series... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TR4N14N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
A lot less than the $60 price tag at Best buy also.
Edit: sorry. Got in a hurry and saw the original post was looking for "clear". However, the clear Insignia case from Best buy is good also. Very similar to speck and very grippy
Tech 21 Pure clear....great case, not bulky, great drop protection. Only gripe is that it has that slight frost look and not 100% clear. This case never yellowed on my note 9, no rainbow or water spot effects. My experience with the otterbox symmetry clear case wasnt quite as good. Overall fitment was good, back was nice and clear but it scratches rather easily and did get yellow on me after a few m ok months(happened with my s8 edge, note 8 and note 9. I skipped it this year but have read it still scratches easy.

Added bonus is with " Flashlight" on, it creates a Halo effect with some of these clear cases.

Thanks for the photo, I do not plan to use the reverse charging, but the loss of glow due to the frosted hex back of the case, that is somewhat disapointing, I have used these cases since my silver titanium note7, which looked gorgeous, but, as I said, I do not like totally clear cases, so, I will.go for the UAG plasma ice, thanks again for the advice?
