Hello,
I will receive soon (I hope) a Redmi 3S 3/32 international version (with B20).
My son's plan, after checking all is OK, is to do OTA to MIUI 8.0.3.0 stable and full encrypt the fresh device (before installing some apps).
No root, no unlock.
Did someone managed to do it ? are there any things to consider before ? any warnings ?
I have read on others forum, that some had difficulties, but some had root, some had unlocked, some had MIUI 7, some had lots of data... so not clear for me if it's hassle free on a fresh miui 8.0.3.
thank you.
I had unlock the bootloader last 4 weeks flash treble twrp + RR 8.1 rom treble support.
So i need a help
Now i can't select any other data partition or flash any custom rom. (or module)
So i think i had encrypted my all data of twrp .
Now i want to go to the Miui pro rom 8.1 treble.
So how to flash .
Now i had heard one more thing latest miui .8.1.11 something firmware. ; what is that?
I need a big help from you guys from all that confusion .
I am using my own Lenovo zuk z2 plus.
But before i was using a redmi 3s .
So guys pls help
Thanks guys keeping a redmi 3s forum thread continue.
I think no one using redmi 3s with a custom rom with 9.0 pie
I shocked ,,, KEEP IT UP (THANKS)
Do a factory reset to decrypt. And flash miui pro as per the procedure mentioned in the thread.

Move all of your data to sdcard, rom with android 8.1 or higher usually encrypted their data partititon after flashed, so you need to use sd card(as long your sd card is not encrypted and not formatted as internal) to flash from twrp or by sideload your rom via computer.
Keep backup your phone before flash, stay safe
hey guys i own a redmi k20 and it was stuck in bootloop so i flashed the rom through miflash but after that my phones name changed from redmi k20 to mi9t did i messed something up or it doesnt matter
Same Problem
I also did the exact same thing and now I am worried that will I be able to come back into its original form. I tried every single ROM available for Redmi K20 through all the steps but nothing happened. It would be very grateful if someone tells us what to do.
Please Help
If you flashed any Global ROM, that's the reason your device is now recognized as "Xiaomi Mi 9T".
Beware to NOT lock your bootloader... or your phone will be hard-bricked (because you have a china "Redmi K20" device).
I've had the exact same thing but in the other way (i had it 9t and got redmi k20), it doest matter if everything works as for me i had no problems with it
Here's some things that may help
Make sure that you have unlocked bootloader and install twrp
Backup everything in twrp.
Install xiaomi.eu rom (it will transform to k20).
And voilĂ ... And trust me you won't need the stock rom ?
I am getting stuck at recovery
For flashing android 11 Rom ibtried both the OF n TWRP which was recommended...
but i am getting stuck at the screen..any suggestion what is going wrong..i am on android 10 now.
any errors in adb/fastboot? bootloader unlocked?

nope..just stuck at recovery screen
Problem solved
Could you say how you solved it?
Just an info: For android 11 (and devices that ship with android 10): Just boot into TWRP, don't flash it. There is no TWRP (official or unofficial) that's working without problems with android 10 and above.

Maybe it applies for Android 11
But for Mi 9T, MIUI 12, A10 it works flawlessly.
Please what exactly does not work for you with TWRP 3.4.0.x on Mi 9T, MIUI 12, QFJEUXM 12.0.3?
I have used official and unofficial OF, and TWRP from 3.3 to 3.4.0.2, from MIUI 10, A9 and then MIUI 11/12 A10 (eea, now I switched to Xiaomi.eu, weekly but still A10)
The only thing that does not work is if you have dual apps (I use dual WA), that when you enter pin it gets access to storage for user 0 ('normal' user) but not for user 999 - which means that it cannot backup data for my second WhatsApp
Please be aware that Mi 9T was originally released with A9 and the layout of partitions did not change when it upgraded to MIUI 11/12, A10 - hence we don't have an issue with TWRP like on the phones that were already released with A10

I own the same device and that's why I clearly posted:
Devices that ship with android 10.
As you said that's not the case for the Xiaomi Mi 9T, it was released with android 9 (MIUI 10.x).
TWRP recovery never had an official update to android 10.
And full backup/restore (data, system, vendor) weren't possible for me at all.

For Mi 9T there is official TWRP for A10 (MIUI 11 and 12):
https://dl.twrp.me/davinci
Again, because the phone was not initially designed and released by A10.
For that reason 3.4.0.0 is the official and valid TWRP for Mi 9T, both for A9 and A10 (we'll see how about A11 when Xiaomi officialy releases, currently there is only A11 beta from Xiaomi.eu)
