Hello friends, I have been looking for some rom with the possibility of using ColorOS camera with its plugins.
I have been watching and reading several posts where some roms are discussed, where you can use ColorOS camera.
I would like to know if you know some Rom Nougat with good development where you can use it.
I currently have cm14.1 25/12 the last update and the camera works partially, the plugins do not
Thank you very much
Sorry for my english (google translate (K))
I tried on Nitrogen Os,got fc.
I hope someone who tried on other N ROMs could help us.
Also on Resurrection Remix
Camera open and no problem but plugins can't work
On Omni Rom they said it's support ColorOs but I didn't try it yet
try Darkobas 7.1.1 it has color os cam

ColorOS camera sadly does not work perfectly with Nougat.

Do you use it as a daily driver? I'm backing everyting up to make the switch from CM due to obvious reasons but I want to make sure I'm picking the most stable rom out there that's also 7.1
Currently using Nitrogen OS (2017/01/08), 4.0.1.c7-00013 firmware, reporting zero issues with ColorOS 2.67+camera+change.zip flash. I do not flash the CM_HAL_MOD.zip.
Hope that helps!

Ok one more question. When I flash the rom, will it be pre-rooted, or will it give me the option to do so. I personally don't want a active root on it due to certain apps I use that automatically don't work if the phone is rooted.

Sorry but probably last question. Which GAPPS should I go for to also get full functionality like the Google assistant and such. So far I tried flashing the ARM Stock but it seems to get an error and not install. Something about insufficient storage in the System Partition.

Mini is the maximum size of Gapps I guess supported by this ROM. After flashing just install 'get assistant' app from play store for Google assistant, I think in the next build the ROM has out of box Google assistant so need for a hack.

So I got the GAPPS installed. Getting a smaller version worked just fine. But I still have an issue with the iSu program. I got the apk and I installed that, but disabling Root in the app still didn't allow me to launch my app. I tried reading through the instructions but they aren't very clear, more specifically if i should also disable SELinux and what those zip files are and how to install them which are the: iSu_kernel_Reboot_Support_V_2_x_and_up_Enforcing
iSu_kernel_Reboot_Support_V_2_x_and_up_Permissive

I've just flashed this rom. The UI is great, rom is smooth. But there are some problems of course. Gallery app is not working, I can take photo but can't open it in gallery. And the sd card does not seems to show up. But good thing is since it based on H2OS, I can flash Arsenic kernel and it's working fine. Do not disturb mode is always enabled, I can't turn it off, but phone still rang.
Edit: sd card does not show up in default explorer, but it shows and working in Solid Explorer. Both flashing open gapps and magisk are working fine.

Just flashed.. Great animations, graphics, sounds and a unique feeling in general.
BUT! This rom asks for every single app for internet and location permissions! from calendar to gallery and notes, in music app and so on.. And if you don't to give permissions there is only an "exit" option and you can't use the app! Maybe it's safe but it seems to me a little shady.
There are many chinese apps preinstalled which explains the size of the rom.
Furthermore some notifications are in chinese and you don't get what they say.
I flashed opengapps after flashing the rom with no success, so I used a google installer from their store and it worked just fine..
Photos from the camera are stretched and Gallery doesn't show anything as mentioned..
wifi/bluetooth/data works fine.
Just updated the post.
details on the ROM: UI experience is unique compared to the other custom ROMs available, but very similar to H2OS. The only difference is that Flyme's launcher has tons of themes online (I hated all of them tho). ROM is really good as a daily, it contains both camera apps, OnePlus' one and Meizu's one. And after enabling Google services via the Google Installer apk, there are no issues either. And any kernel for OOS 3 will work on this ROM; I'm using Arsenic kernel. I've also flashed Magisk v13.1 and it is working without any problems with Greenify and Naptime running

I know that the OnePlus 1 (originally) came with Cyanogenmod but then Cyanogenmod shut down, branching into LineageOS and OnePlus made OxygenOS. However, I don't know which features LineageOS has that OxygenOS doesn't and what LineageOS doesn't have that OxygenOS has. I'm not sure if I should switch from OxygenOS to LineageOS. Could anyone tell me the pros and cons of each and their recommendation?

I prefer the customisation and feel of aosp, it's just my preference, there is no best rom or OS, the problem for me and many more with aosp and Los is the inability to use the camera as expected.
Fusion is probably the best rom as in non OOS but has the camera from it which works nearly perfect
Your best bet is to use stock OOS long enough to get a good feel for it then make a nandroid backup and flash Lineage. That way you can decide for yourself and it just takes a few minutes to go back to OOS if you decide you like it better than Lineage. I've tried a number of custom ROMs but haven't found one I liked better than OOS + Blu Spark yet. A lot of people like Pure Fusion but I couldn't get even a decent phone signal with that ROM. It seems to be incompatible with my phone carrier.
How is the OOS-camera-app with AOSP-roms?
I see there is magisk-modules for custom roms you can flash via TWRP.
Is the the same quality compere to OOS?

Imho, nothing compares to oos stock camera, not even the modified Google camera. It's coming along but I was using it on lineage for a few days and felt the picture quality was definitely lacking.
As for the OP, the best advice has been given, play with OOS, tweak it to your liking and then back it up and go try it with lineage. I went back to OOS From lineage because lineage is still very new for our device and it has flaws that I didn't want to deal with on my daily driver. In time, I'm 99% certain I will jump to lineage because I think it's great; but for now on my op5 it's oos plus blu-spark.
(Plus I'm hoping @eng.stk will make a LOS kernel (don't kill me man lol))

LOS is where I usually test my custom stuff.

Feel free to use the search button on my thread.
I am a long time custom ROM flashoholic, and had custom ROMs on every phone I could.
OOS is the first stock OS that satisfies my needs for customization, features and the lack of bloat.
I recommend using stock with Magisk, as you pretty much have all the features from OOS and all the possibilities from a custom ROM.
The only thing lacking for me is the "long volume press skip track" feature, but I have that on my headphones (just not on the phone itself).
Benefit is that you still can receive updates (just reflash Magisk) and camera quality stays.
I cant really give any valid reason for switching to a custom OS besides dropped mainstream support, and I think that shouldnt happen for at least 2-3 more years. (In which time you will probably get a new phone )
In short: LOS is more up to date, and better battery life but slower app openings, and maybe more bugs (i didn't notice any yet)

Doesn't work quite like that, when you extract the camera and try to use it outside oos, it fails; unless someone has a find a way to do it.

No, you can make Apks that depend on device specific framework libraries. They'll only work if the libraries are there.
Now you can copy framework libraries, but in the OOS camera case, you also need modifications to the kernel and to Android to make it work.
In short, your ROM has to support it.
The only ROM I know that kinda support the OOS cam is PureFusion. And even, the smile capture and a few other minor things still do not work.

As mentioned, APKs may depend on specific libraries or frameworks. Some apps don't need specific libraries or frameworks. OOS Camera does. Try extracting the APK and install it on your Fire.
Try the Google Dialer. Try Google Camera.

I just switched from OOS 10 to PiXeN OS, because of notification issues. Everything is working great now..... But I don't like the Pixel Launcher and tried running OP Launcher with Quickswitch and it wasn't adapting to the dark mode and it was glitching.... Kept going back to defaults layout after I restored it with my backup.
If I could get OP Launcher working.... It would be great.
Was able to learn how to get the OP Launcher in PiXeN OS. The latest patchable version QuickSwitch is able to patch is version OnePlus Launcher 4.4.8. Its stable and it has Google Feeds automatically. So far its stable and everything is working as it should....... Cant ask for more, Stable custom rom with stock OP camera, gallery and now OP launcher.
I've been using Bliss Rom for about a week and i'm pretty happy with it.
It has the OOS Cam as well as GCam, and both work well.

I found the solution here on Telegram {Mod edit}.... The Shady Mods OP Launcher 4.5.9 works perfectly without having to patch it with QuickSwitch. I installed the QuickSwitch that was on the Magisk module search and it was v3.1.6. I always use Titanium Backup to make the switch between Roms easier. I only restore apps and not the system files... Some apps you still have to setup again, but the majority Titanium Backup restores the data specially for games.
Basically you install the Systemless_OPLauncher-v3.0.zip with Magisk and use QuickSwitch to set OP Launcher as default (Select No when it ask to patch). Done. Works perfectly. I am on the latest OP Launcher. No issues and was able to restore my layout with my OOS backup. If you have a backup from OOS of your OP Launcher, you can use it to restore the launcher layout. You just unzip the net.oneplus.launcher.tar on the opbackup folder and copy it to the root /data/ data

Give it a shot. I've been using it for the last 3 builds. From what I've seen in the 3 months I've used it, he says this often because people ask about 6t updates. There's usually only one when a 7t beta is released. Other than that there are none in between. But he has explained that his script he runs, builds all of his ROMs in less than a minute so he was going to continue updating.

About notifications, I couldn't figure out what you guys were talking about because I never had this problem. I had forgotten that I wasn't on stock 6t ROM.
So it's possible that this port doesn't have the issue because I get all notifications.

Not a single bug so far. In 3 months. The only thing is that you get the internal device error when you start up which is not an issue. And you get all the features of the 7t and 8Pro.

PiXeN is really stable. Had only two strange thing happen. One was while I was on a call and could not access anything while on the call screen..... Basically I was stuck. It hasn't happened again. I also did notice the camera lag opening.... But not sure if it was due to the Rom being recently install.
Both issues have not been duplicated. The big benefit for me was, being able to use the OP Launcher and being able to transfer my launcher layout. Battery life is very close to stock and performance is very fluid.
From reading the OP 7T Port Beta 16 in Telegram.... There seems to be people having some issues with the ROM. Didn't read much, but it seems not to be as stable as PiXeN. For now will stick with PiXeN... Already getting use to swipping to the side gesture to go back.... I was used to swipping up at the bottom corner to go back. I did have to adjust the area where the side back gesture was, because some menus you side gesture to bring menu out. So I moved it to the lower side.

Both issues have not been duplicated. The big benefit for me was being able to use the OP Launcher and being able to transfer my launcher layout. Battery life is very close to stock and performance is very fluid.
From reading the OP 7T Port Beta 16 in Telegram.... There seems to be people having some issues with the ROM. Didn't read much, but it seems not to be as stable as PiXeN. For will stick with PiXeN... Already getting use to swipping to the side gesture to go back.... I was used to swipping up at the bottom corner to go back. I did have to adjust the area where the side back gesture was, because some menus you side gesture to bring menu out. So I moved it to the lower side.

Well im going to try it out. I didn't really even set it up up so I didn't give it any real chance. But I'm going to flash it now and see. Just in case he does drop maintaining that port. I'll be ahead of the game. Lol.
Might be time for an upgrade.

I know many users in the OnePlus 6T Telegram group are using PiXeN and have confirmed it to very good and stable. So far it has been true. Plus Gapps, TWRP are preinstalled. It also passes all the safetynet securities in magisk without having to install any magisk modules like I had to do when I rooted stock oos.

Hi,
I am very new to this forum. I respect all you guys for your achievements.
This is the first time I have rooted a phone. After many days of trial and error, I was successful in installing Lineage 16 on to my phone.
My phone (Redmi 3S) seems to have lost root access after the custom ROM (lineage-16.0-20200902-nightly-land-signed) installation.
Is there any way to root it again without data loss?
I had rooted my phone with SuperSU after which I had automatically got the root checker app. But after installing the lineage-16.0-20200902-nightly-land-signed version, when I checked, I got the message that it wasn't properly rooted. Also, the SuperSU root checker app was missing.
I was wondering if it is advisable to go for Magisk instead of SuperSU.
Please help.
Regards,
Hitesh KH

Follow the official guide, and for the step 8 in "Installing LineageOS from recovery" changed "LineageOS’ AddonSU" by Magisk and reboot.
Thanks for the reply. I will try that ASAP and get back
Hi Noru29,
Thanks for the reply.
As such, I planned to do just that — a clean wipe (planned to wipe the system, data, caches, etc. Any suggestion on that?) and then install the Magisk and then flash the custom ROM again.
I think this would also help me hide the fact that I have rooted the phone. I read it somewhere rooting via Magisk can help trick the apps into believing that the phone is not rooted.
Right now, many of the apps decline services saying that they find my phone rooted. Meanwhile, the root checker tells me that my phone is not rooted — it almost says that it can't find any trace of SuperSU.
Thanks for all the help.

Clean Flash is the way to go. Magisk Hide helps hide root status from most apps.
I would also suggest Fork LOS 17.1 by Sairam. Its based on 4.9 kernel with a few useful extras not found in Official LOS(16) . Its undoubtedly one of the most fluid ROMs available for land. Stable and no glaring issues even though its only a few builds old.
P.S. Your custom ROM journey has started at a good time. Android 11 has already been booted in land by Sairam. Of course many bugs still to squashed.

Hi Noru29,
Like I said earlier, I'm very new to this.
I was wondering if I will be able to get the apps that I have installed on my phone right now.
Can you please share with me the link of Sairam's fork (if you have saved it)? Otherwise, I shall look it up.
In the lineage 16 version I've right now, I had to remove a part of the script. Only after that was I able to install lineage on to my phone.
Thanks,
Hitesh KH.

Hi Noru29,
what I meant was if I change the OS from the Lineage OS 16 to the fork created by Sairam (17.1) will my phone get back the settings and apps (if I take a backup before wiping) that I had downloaded earlier?
I'm really eagerly waiting for the Lineage OS based on Android 11.
Thanks,
Hitesh KH.

Fork LOS https://sourceforge.net/projects/te...ge-17.1-20200827-UNOFFICIAL-land.zip/download
You will need the latest Orangefox recovery in order to flash ROMs based on 4.9 kernel. https://sourceforge.net/projects/an...efox/OrangeFox-R11.0-Stable-land.zip/download
Android 11 based ROMs are some ways off from being stable enough for daily use.
Clean flash.
You can use Migrate to backup and restore apps+app data.

Hi amn1987,
Thanks for the guidance. I will try that ASAP.
By the way, I think I will wait for the stable version of Lineage OS based on Android 11. I will be using my Redmi 3S that I use as my daily device. I wanted to try LOS on my Nokia 6.1 plus too, but it has gone dead after falling into a bucket of water.
Wow, there is an app (forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-migrate-custom-rom-migration-tool-t3862763) for that too! ???. ? (https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=7237343 tusi great ho).
Thanks,

As I said above it could be a while before A11 is stable enough. Meanwhile Fork LOS is great. Enabling Battery Saver cuts down on idle drain.

hi amni1987,
I installed this fork on my Redmi 3S recently. As such it looked neat, but I wasn't able to use any of the Google apps, including the Play Store. The main problem was the Google Play Services. A pop-up used to come showing Google Play Services not installed properly.
I was wondering what the problem might be and would appreciate a solution.
Thanks,
Hitesh KH.

Which GApps did you use? I am currently on RR 8.6.3 with Open GApps Pico and I haven't come across any such issue.
