Why do you not want to use Xposed? I works great and I use it on multiple devices. The biggest problem people have with Xposed is not installing/updating busybox. I use BusyBox Pro by (Stericson) and there is a free version as well. Piece of cake!!! You're also missing out from being able to use GravityBox! The Horror! Horror I Say!
Easy, cause I would like to stay with ART I see your module and I was very close to install it... but... well maybe I.'ll do when I will be bored to not find the patch

Hi, I just got a nexus4 and would like to keep it stock (have a sgs2 that I use for trying roms out on) but I would like to something that gives me a bit more control over how apps use my info. On my sgs2 I love openpdroid and I almost considered LBE (don't like that it doesn't allow spoofing) but seems that its been having alot of issues so that doesn't seem like a great idea. I could have sworn that I had seen one or two threads before where some devs were working on some things similar to pdroid that were also a bit simpler to install and seemed like they might install on stock roms but can't find these threads. Does anyone have any suggestions for other apps that would give a bit more control over how user info is managed? Thx in advance!

Just install XPosed Framework, and install the XPrivacy Module. XPrivacy is THE BEST privacy management tool on android, allows for fake data entry too. Check it out.

I've been meaning to check out XPosed, I keep seeing it everywhere.
I guess I have one main question related to Xposed then, for the Nexus 4, as I am trying to keep it as-stock-as-possible would the XPosed framework interfere or break the "stockness" (forgive me with the terminology) of the stock rom? That is, will it continue to update when google pushes out new updates like 4.4.3, 4.4.4, and so on? Regardless I am going to look into it for my sgs2 as I am more tolerant of tinkering but the Nexus4 is not for me and they (sig other) just wants a no-fuss phone and I want them to have a no-fuss phone with a reasonable level of privacy (always a balance )

Absolutely not, your "stockiness" will not break, as one of the main features of the xposed framework is allowing mods without flashing files and/or modifying system files. You will still receive OTAs, but to install them you'll have to uninstall The framework. (It's just a button press in the xposed app and 2 seconds of waiting) you can reinstall xposed after the OTA.

Ok, the second part was a bit less clear however now that i know it won't break it I will go do the requisite reading and then post if i have additional questions. Thanks so much for putting me onto XPosed!

when google pushes a new update(as so called OTA or Over The Air)your phone will display the update info. however when installing it will fail since one of the files in the system is modified(the app_process in /system/bin). then you go to the Xposed app. and unninstall de framework. or use any root explorer(since u will need to have root to install xposed) and delete app_process in /system/bin and rename the app_process.bak to just app_process(in same dir).
thats what he meant.
Edit:
you will loose all configurations, sdcard contents, downloaded apps, etc.... . if u still didnt unlock your bootloader(witch looks like no),because u will need to root your phone.

You will not have any problem if youre already rooted. When an OTA comes, just Open the Xposed app and press the button to uninstall the framework. Your OTA Will work just fine.
After the OTA, just click the insatll button to re install Xposed. Really simple, really. And since youre gonna install Xposed, I suggest you try out GravityBox too, its ****ing awesome.

I think I have you a "thank" click but wanted to come back to the post and thank you again, Xposed is impressive but XPrivacy is overwhelming, in an awesome way, and I thought PDroid covered alot. I've got some reading/re-reading to do but just wanted to say thanks cause i don't think I would have come across it otherwise. much appreciated! (and yeah, gravbox pretty damn nice too)
NEW OP FOR BRAND NEW STUFF !
Now, Xperia Z4/Z5 lib and framework files are ported to 5.1.1+ including Marshmallow.
Just flash this zip in recovery : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347843173
Now, enjoy easy install of Sony Apps. Maybe they wont install, so push them to /system/app or /system/priv-app
Blisspop v5.1.1
Hi.I installed music and album apks , they work fine. But can't flash zip file on my Nexus 5 running Blisspop 3.2.I'd be happy if they could install. But thanks

Flash the zip. Maybe it fails. Now read the text displayed by the recovery log. Says you must mount system manually on TWRP or CWM, and reflash zip.
Not work :/
E:Error exe****ing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/SonyFiles.zip'.
I mount system manually..
I use TWRP.
I've extracted the walkman app and installed it normally and it worked flawlessly on CM12.1 Hammerheadcaf.
A bit off topic: I tried to install the walkman app on my Stock G2 Lollipop 5.0.2, it got installed, but when I open the app, it Force closes, the same with lower "8" version ports. It used to work on Stock G2 Kitkat.
Does these apps work on stock Roms like cataclysm? any workaround to work? want to try walkman/music app :
Edit: I tired walkman/music app on stock cataclysm and it's working great. Thankx for the port. There is no clear bass in this verson? sound enchantment takes me to stock equalizer

This features requieres additional Sony files. You can use Viper4Android, its workin' perfectly with Walkman for me.
You gave me an idea. Stay tuned

Thats not off topic dont worry
Try to make a logcat, or make a backup of Stock LP rom, and flash the Sony files flashable zip to see if it resolves. I recommend you to make a backup in the case of flashin results in a bootloop, i just tested it on Euphoria-OS AOSP on my Nexus 5.
If not, make a logcat extract and submit it to pastebin.com, and post the link

Tried multiple times to restart, deodex system apps, and grabbed logcats, but still crashes and never reached any bootanimation, so i stopped it for now, hoping somebody one day will help me
Ohh. Sad to hear that. Wish i could help but i don't have knowledge to porting stuffs. Good luck for the future.
I installed Album normally, runs ok but there are graphical glitches here and there. Then I tried flashing the API zip but it showed an error. (I did mount system and I'm using CWM)

I dont faced it personally.. Dont use CWM, its discontinued, use TWRP instead, and it should work.
I just updated Music app to 9.0.1.A.3.0 Beta
Sony seems to have added a quick button, with new settings, allowing to read some playlists.
Here's APKMirror changelog :
Change log:
- Quick play button (Experimental feature)
- Color picking on landing page items
- Misc bug fixes
** Please note that the beta application is not fully translated. **
I wont notify every update i make and upload on my Sony AndroidFileHost Folder, so subscribe to Sony Music app updates on Pushbullet, and when you see an update, the ported apk will be available here as usual, within 24 hours.
Cheers

Sony Photo Editor app :
Find the latest version of the app here : http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sony-mobile-communications/photo-editor/
Doesn’t need editing to work on AOSP/CM roms
(works for me, Nexus 5, Euphoria-OS AOSP 5.1.1)

It seems most resellers are removing all stock Letv apps and are gimping the device capabilities in the process.
I don't want to have to wipe the device and flash a new firmware just to get a couple apps that are missing.
Without the Letv Music app the USB c headphones are useless
Is there any way I can install just the apps I need on this without flashing a new firmware ?
Let me know your ideas , I could really use the help.

I did try, extracted apps from both from chinese 5.9.23s and indian 5.8.21s but they didn't work. Currently searching for a way to make them work on lineage. I'm not proficient with tweaking with this stuff so I would appreciate if someone could figure out how to do this.

The remote control app is integrated in some roms. Slim and my rom (based on slim) have it. But for the others there isn't any mod or something (at least from what I know)
There is possibility that the chamber apk works in custom rom nougat?

Can you upload stock 'files' manager app.

Thanks
What about stock dialer, will calls recording work?
Please note that this write up is based on the assumption that you have a rooted after updating firmware to 7.1.1 and also unlocked bootloader
On several ocassions I was tempted to take firmware upgrade to Anroid 7.1.1 but thinking of missing xposed, I was delaying it. Finally I decided to take the firmware update mainly because of several goodness packed in Android 7.1.1. Finally I updated my device with Android 7.1.1 and took following alternatives to enjoy the benefits that I was enjoying with xposed.
1. I hate softkeys and also wanting to always keep status bar immersive. Xposed immersive module was doing the job. I achieved the same wihtout xposed as below,
Added a line in build.prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=1, and restart phone hides navbar permenantly. Installed Tile Root to hide status bar and the good thing about this this app is that it doesn't loose notification pull down option. Once installed it will be seen in Quick settings as it doesn't have launcher. Using Quick settings edit, you can being the immersive button and use it to go immersive. We need Pie Control to manage the absence of navbar.[/URL]
2. YouTube background playback was possible with the help of xposed module. I managed the same screen off playback as below,
Installed OG YouTube which is a moded version of official YouTube. This has the ability to play YouTube in the background. You can search yourself to find this modded app
3. Magisk work for 7.1.1 hence if anyone wants to use Android Pay it is still possible
If anyone wants to find alternative for the xposed module that were in use until MM, please post here. We can collectively find a best possible options.
Xposed resurrection Remix 7.1.1?
