Can't use SIM Card on custom ROM - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I flashed LineageOS because Sprint only displays some languages and i wanted to be able to choose all available (like on any smartphone). The phone is carrier unlocked because with the stock ROM I was able to use the phone normally with Vodafone Portugal. Now with the custom ROM it doesn't recognize the SIM card. Do I have to change the modem/baseband to it work normally?

[Q] Unable to find or connect to carrier after ROM install

OK, So I am not sure exactly what I did, but I was running DFT_Android ROM without any issues but wanted to try the NexusHD2-Gingerbread ROM. After flashing (successful) I wasn’t able to get on to my cellular network, wireless LAN, or even see the device through Windows (Aside from USB Mass Storage). So I decided to flash back to DFT_Android…
Well now I can search for network operators and I see mine (Bell) but I can’t connect to it. If I try to set up and APN it asks me to choose an operator, Vodafone or Vodafone Business.
What the heck is going on? Did the ROM write to my SIM?
Where do I go from here? How do I get back on my carriers network?
Here are the current software details:
HTC HD2 Telstra
Baseband: 15.42.50.09u_2.14.50.04
So I swapped out the sim card with another working sim from another account and it worked right away... So my question is... Is it possible the sim became carrier locked to another carrier? Is that possible?
If I put my original sim back in I get the same message...
Your original SIM is probably just bad. I would request a new one from Bell.

[Q] [SM-N910F][SOLVED] SIM removed error

After trying to install few custom ROMS namely DR. Ketans and SimplRom I experience SIM removed error problem.
The flashing goes fine with full factory reset (only internal SD is not wiped), I enter the PIN when I'm asked for it. The SIM is unlock but when the phone registers on the network it gives SIM removed error and forces a reboot.
I also upgraded the bootloader and the modem to the latest versions BL_N910FXXU1BOD2 and CP_N910FXXU1BOC4 but the problem remains the same.
When I restore back to the original ROM (backed up by TWRP) everything works fine. If dirty flash custom ROM over it again there are no problems with the SIM card.
The only conclusion is that T-Mobile has some additional software installed.
The phone is SM-N910F bought from T-Mobile. It has T-Mobile branding on boot and shutdown.
Does anyone now anything about this ?
To update it with my own research.
Apparently the SIM card is lock to Macedonia region. MBM CSC. When installing custom ROM the CSC gets changed and the phone rejects the SIM.
In an effort to resolve this I've flashed DE DBT CSC ROM and the phone won't accept my SIM card.
Currently I'm downloading the original T-Mobile MKD firmware and I hope by restoring it that I will be able to use the phone again.
Also since I paid for the phone in full I intend to contact T-Mobile tomorrow and ask them to unlock my phone.
Will write what comes out of this. Don't want someone else to lose their nerves as I did today
Definitely the issue was in wrong CSC. I've downloaded the original firmware and everything worked again.
But I couldn't stay put and wanted to flash a custom ROM so I went with http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881.
It's a great base ROM stripped of Knox and de-bloated. Most importantly it keeps your current CSC intact.
The procedure was:
Flash original firmware with Odin,
Root with CF-Auto root
Flash TWRP recovery with Odin
Reset data so that it completely goes stock because flashing the original firmware doesn't reset data
At this point I made full nandroid backup
Flash ALEXAND ROM
Uninstall additional bloatware
So far it's working fine.
I hope that this will help someone.

[SM-G530M] SIM Locked after Firmware update

Hello, friends.
I do need your help.
I wanted to tell you that I had some problems with my phone's performance, so, after almost a year, I decided to upate its firmware.
* I've to mention that my SM-G530M was already SIM unlocked from seller/provider (Movistar Colombia).
* Also, all this time I've been using a SIM from Claro Argentina without any problem on that device.
I installed this firmware, using Odin (most of all, because I live now in Argentina):
--> G530MUBS1APE4_UUB1AOI1_ARO_Argentina_4.4.4.zip
When the process ended, it booted up normally, but after a reboot it started to ask me to put SIM network code.
* I've tried to flash different firmwares (Colombia, Argentina, Chile, etc.). With/without SIM card inserted.
* Also I've tried Factory Reset and Wipe cache (from software and recovery too).
* I even have tried to use "NAND erase all" in Odin, all in order to clean the most from the device to get prepared for a clean Firmware installation.
Unfortunately nothing worked.
I'm in ruins.
Please, friends, is there anyone who could guide me in order to unlock my phone again?
If you need more info, just tell me.
Thanks in advance!:
I know it's too old to reply, but at least I'll report that problem is solved forcefully, bands to other carriers had to be reopened. Unfortunately I don't know if the culprit of this SIM locking was the Claro's provider ROM I used, taking in mind it is the one I use in Argentina, but device was from another country. However this wasn't a case of international carrier restriction, since device was already unlocked, but this update broke it all.

SM-G935FD (Unlocked) shows invalid SIM card (network locked)

After flashing some roms and custom kernels my S7 edge which was unlocked couldn't identify my SIM card. It detects it but it doesn't show the service provider name and there's a notification which asks me about an unlock code. It's the first time I've come across a problem like this where an SIM unlocked phone seems to have turned into a locked one. I've already done factory resets, flashing the latest bootloader and modem, switching to another SIM card (same result) but nothing works. Is it one of the files being modified or related to hardware?
Currently I'm using Phoenix ROM v3.0 and VoLTaqe 4.2 kernel (best one i have). Also, other roms i flashed also had the same issue.
same here. Eve figure it out?
Was it originally unlocked or was it unlocked with a pin? Some pin unlocks are dubious and only last until updated/flashed.

[Q]S5 Duos G9009W (kltechnduos) to stock Europe

My brother gave me his s5 duos that was using when he was in China. Obviously sim 1 is locked for China Telecom SIM only and SIM2 for all operators but only 2G. The original ROM has only Chinese and English and I wanted to have the phone in Italian, so I managed to install TWRP and the Resurrection Remix ROM with Android 6.0.1. Now I remembered that I have a Gear Fit 1 in one drawer and I wanted to use it with the phone. Is there a way to install a stock rom from Europe? I have tried with Odin but the phone says that there are partitioning errors and stops flashing the rom.
Any help?
Edit 25/3:
Created 2 backups with twrp, one custom rom 6.0 and one stock China 5.0.
Partially unlocked SIM 1 on stock with *#0011# menu. No 4G, only 3G, but now both works and Internet too. Partially changed language, not all menu entries are in Italian but most of them are. Installed Gapps zip with TWRP and removed the Chinese market app.
It's 75% usable now, but I want to solve some issues.
If I flash back the custom rom I lose the sim unlock and the debug menu too, also the gear fit manager stops working. Is there a way to flash only the system partition from a stock rom using TWRP and not Odin?
