Hello, I have an LG G6 H870 , bootloader unlocked, stock rom (I think), and I have made the mistake to check software updates, I continued with the update process and when the phone restarts, it restarts in recovery TWRP mode without doing anything (I still get 'Your device software cannot checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader' message, I also tried to update with the locked bootloader but the message still won't disappear or won't let me update), so I guess the update is failing, now I am stuck with an update notification that won't disappear..I wanted to know if I'm able to get rid of the notification or continue with the update.
Version of Android is 8.0
Software version is 'V20i-EUR-XX'
Have you tried LG Bridge and clicking "update error recovery"?

Will try now and report back
If you have TWRP installed, you can't take OTA updates for stock ROM. Either go back to stock recovery or wait until someone posts a flashable zip of the update.

So I somehow soft-bricked (I think) my d802 international LG G2 on CloudyG2 2.2. It displays the LG logo then 'Security Error', it loops when USB is entered. I have been able to enter Download Mode (however it keeps automatically initiating a Firmware Update staying at 0%).
I think what happened was, I was trying to flash the latest version of Xposed Frameworks, in order to do so I had to install TWRP, so I 'flashed' (presumably) TWRP using LGG2 AutoRec Lollipop, which I think made a backup before flashing, but when the phone switched off it is now somehow softbricked.
What would be the best steps to recover my phone? I was going to use 'LG Flashtoolnow' but I'm afraid that it will screw things up further because I'm on custom firmware. Is there anyway to retrieve data such as photos and videos if I have to flash to stock?
Any help would be great thanks.
Try using lg mobile support tool and perform an upgrade recovery.
I tried to perform an Upgrade Recovery, it tries upgrading the phone but after 2% says 'Upgrade stopped due to an error.' This is all while the screen is stuck at the 'Firmware Update' screen at 0%
Some updated information: Even if I want to flash to stock, is that easy after being on a custom firmware? Currently when I connect the phone during 'Download Mode' it automatically goes to 'Firmware Update' where it is stuck at 0% and says: USER B13 R00TED. I have a D802 international model I bought online (from Korea or Hong Kong, working fine in the UK) but I'm not sure what ROM to download, any help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2432476
Update,
I fixed this problem by using LGUP. My phone was refurbished (ls980) so that's why twrp didn't booted,
Hello,
I have a LG G2 d802 32gb variant. I bought it a week ago. I was running andoid kitkat OS (HK D80220C). It wasn't rooted. I tried to get official updates from about phone section but "no updates". So i decided to manually flash updates from a rooted recovery as i did in my LG G3.
First of all I rooted it by "IOroot". Then tried to install custom recovery by "autorec d802". Everything went good and autorec was also successful. I asked me to reboot into recovery, I pressed yes and then it took me to "fastboot mode". I tried to reboot into OS by pressing power button (As battery is non-removable). Everytime it rebooted back into that fastboot mode. This once happened with me on LG G3. So i tried to flash "laf" and "recovery" image and downloaded from here
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D802/Stock_Firmware
I flashed them by CMD fastboot method. Now it stuck at "LG Logo" and download mode was also started. So i decided to install a stock rom by KDZ or Tot method. First i tried KDZ method. I downloaded stock rom "Hong Kong D80220C_00.kdz" which it was previously running. Also installed all drivers, downloaded flashtools2014 and connected phone while in download mode.
I started KDZ method as told here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
But everytime it shows internal error on "2 or 3 percent". It didn't worked for me. So i decided to do tot mothod.
Download tot file, dll file, LGFlashtool, drivers etc.
Followed whole process which was also described in above post. But when flashtool reached at 94 percent and mobile was being rebooted it showed error
"Fboot check"
"Fboot Check"
"Can't reboot completely"
I tried to turn of phone at this condition by waiting and then doing a factory reset by keys combination but it keeps resetting and rebooting. I searched whole internet but can't find a solution. Can anyone please help me. Because i bought this cellphone a week ago for my friend and i would not be able to face him after showing a sick phone. Please someone help .
Only download mode of phone is working, It also keeps led light on while stuck at logo.

could it be that your phone is refurbished ? and if its says its a d802 in fact is a ls980.?
I want to update the firmware
Therefore, i get into bootloader but i cant access the recovery mode
I have try several ways, like 'adb reboot recovery' , use manual update 'copy the firmware.zip into my SD card', or just unroot the device and try again the step i had done but it didn't really help
The result, my device won't update. . .the notification 'bout 'ASUS Software update' keep showing up til' now
Thank you. . .
Hi, what firmware are you on right now? Why don't you just update through OTA update?
Hi there! I have this question which I'd love to have answered because I've been on this issue for around 2 days straight.
Long story short:
Tried to flash custom recovery using fastboot, didn't work because bootloader locked
Kept on trying the unlocker apps, none of them even installed fully (THIS WAS WHEN I WAS STILL ON LOLLIPOP)
Somehow, at some point, I just randomly rebooted and BOOM THERE WAS TWRP (Sorry, I don't remember how exactly I managed that. As far as I remember, I was only using fastboot and nothing else)
Flashed CM 14.1 unofficial, device gave an error message regarding boot.img (something like "could not load boot.img"
Used stock ROM to flash OTA Android 6.1
Now the Asus unlocker app downloads but on reboot it says "error: unlock fail !!!"
Obviously, fastboot is unable to flash a recovery right now. I tried ignoring the error message and rebooting to recovery to stop the device from loading the stock recovery again but the device still loads the stock recovery.
I'm really tired
P.S: NO, there is no Enable OEM option in my Developer Options menu and YES, I have all the drivers necessary.
Did you get anywhere with this? I have a similar problem except that I couldn't flash Android 6.1 because the vendor had flashed WW 5.0.2 on a CN phone without also updating the CN recovery to WW. So the update failed its consistency check.
I've got TWRP on there now, but can't unlock the bootloader in 5.0.2 - I think this is why TWRP can't flash anything. It can't see the update files, won't switch to external SD, etc. .
I also found and tried flashing a WW recovery but that didn't work either. I'm wondering now if I got the 615 software by mistake.
I tried to root android 8.1, then it came up with a error message on startup saying:
This device has loaded a different operating system
ID: (serial number)
This device will shut down in 30 seconds
and it also has an unlock icon.
But I managed to boot to TWRP and I tried flashing the ota itself but it still wouldn't work so I flashed the Nougat OTA and it now boots to recovery instead of the error message. Now I tried to sideload the OTA but it will come up with the error " failed to read command: No error"
By the way I did try OST LA but it was stuck on checking device status.
Use OST LA version 6.0.4. That works. If I understood correctly, you flashed official ROM and OTA through TWRP. You can't do it. ROMs are installed only through OST and OTAs only through official recovery (which TWRP isn't)

Thanks a lot, now my phone is working after flashing nougat with OST LA 6.0.4 instead of 6.1.2. Now my phone will probably explode with notifications .
