I'm wondering what you guys think is the best kernel for the OnePlus 6T?
Personal preference. RZ, Neutrino, arter and Smurf are the ones I was sticking with for more than a day. Currently running arters kernel and I'm pretty happy with it. Very very snappy and amazing battery. I think you must try for yourself.

Same! They are all good.
OP should try them and tell us which you like best.
I tried a few and had a bunch of weird issues. Switched to BluSpark and all is well. Battery life is crazy good.
There is no 'best'. No best ROM, no best kernel etc....
All is later of taste and if what you expect from...
So try and decide by yourself for yourself

I've had the best experience with Render Zenith and Neurotrine. Render Zenith for more peformance and Neurotrine for more battery. I've found that most others give me instability issues or do not make a difference at all with stock in my opinion.

Hello what would be the most stable ROMs available for OP5. I wanna try out.
I tried almost every custom ROM, for my needs i think the Fusion rom is the best stable daily driver.
The only thing that needs to be done is replace AOSP stock apps (dailer, messenger, clock) with the OpenGapps versions.
Battery is awsome and its snappy/stable as hell
Feel free to ask if you have any questions

Honestly. They are both based off of LOS so they will not be very different except for some options here or there. So if one has an issue then both normally does. Mainly if it is a LOS issue.
Then you have the difference between AOSP code and the code that is "made" for the device. The closed sourced code will always work better. That is just the way it is.

i'm partial to paranoidandroid, myself, but can also attest to freedom os as well. both are great.
XxX + gravity box
My vote goes to pure fusion
I have tried AEX ( 7.1.2 & 8.1 ) and RR ( 8.1 ) and of course stock. On my use I'm confused what to use. Each has its own set of problems.
I'm asking which is the best ROM for performance other than these two or is one of them the best ?
Thanks in advance
PS. I have done a lot of searching and that's why I'm confused
For me its nos mod performance is aweosme and i constantly get 7.30 to 8 hours sot.

What problems do you have with stock? I am on stock (NPNS25.137-93-14) rooted with ElementalX-G5-2.03 as my kernel. I see great performance as well as decent battery life. But even before I went to a custom kernel I didn't have any issues with performance.

But it's stable. Most Oreo ROMs aren't. And returning to stock could be a real mess if you don't have a persist backup.
And about customizing: There are things like substratum themes and tweaks or Nougat/Oreo Quick Settings when you are rooted. I have my device customized as I like it.

Not that I have discovered. I have customized my phone as much as I desire and have not seen any problems. It is also very stable. The only issue I ran into was I kept losing root with SuperSU, until I installed ElementalX, but if you don't want a custom kernel you can get around that by using Magisk. And Magisk has numerous modules for customization.

Root your phone, get a custom kernel and a set clock speed to max all time. Keep installed applications to minimal. If you don't care about battery life - that's the way to go! I doubt big differences between the current ROMs. In some ROMs the animation factor is set to a smaller value by default. This improves responsiveness and display speed.

As someone who has tried them all, the treskmod omnirom by max tresk is by far the romkiller. It's the best period. Not on this forum. Google Fu it.
I preferred stock after trying a few AOSP ROMs about a week ago. The battery life and stability of stock alongside having a working FP scanner and the nice screen-off gestures were enough to keep me on stock. At least OnePlus's OS is very close to a stock Android experience.

A few of us would counter that tresk mod on this device operates smoother than stock. Gestures included, in built theming. And no fingerprint, but I don't ever use it anyways. I get 11 hrs sot.
Tresk Mod is pretty good and the in built kernel is really good. No need to use another one. There is also an official Dirty Unicorn Fajita built. Both you will not found on XDA....

Yes if you flash open gapps nano or higher.
I was recently using the pairing of the Smurf Kernal with the NoLimits xXx Rom, but I wanted to try something else. What's everyone else doing with their 6T?
I just stick to stock, I've tried a few and I just don't find and real benefit they never caused any harm either but just one more thing to have to flash during an update lol.

You can easily flash the stock boot.img to get back to stock kernel. Or you backup your stock boot partition in TWRP and restore it when needed.
You need to flash twrp and magisk again afterwards.
