Can you explain charging amp in custom rom - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

I'm tried stock charger ,quick 2.0 charger ,and normal 2amp charger..
I got around 1200mah from stock and 900mah from quick charger 2.0
And 1900 mah in normal 2amp charger...
Why QC 2.0 not deliver right speed in custom ROM?

so i lost my fast charger which i didn't didn't use anyway as i kept fast charging unchecked in phone settings
now i got a new romoss charger which is a good charger AFAIK. it is rated at 2.1a, plugged it in and it took too long to charge. i downloaded an app called Ampere to measure the current and the maximum it gets is about 1000mA.
i thought the new charger was ****ty so i tried my friend's LG charger 1.8a and got the same results. tried another 2.1a samsung charger and nothing exceeds 1a.
is it something wrong with my phone or is it software related?
i'm using eRobot's newest rom with spaceX kernel (also tried googymax and suemax kernels). tried to check the fast charge option and again, same results.
any opinions or thoughts are much appeeciated

You need a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 compatible charger in order utilize adaptive fast charging on your Note 4([email protected] & [email protected] output). Buy new Note4,Nexus 6,Motorola X Style charger. Also make sure your USB cable is undamaged/good quality, since not all cables actually support fast charging.
i dont need to use it as a fast charger, i just want it to charge with 5v 2a which the chareger is capable of

I think it only supports QC 2.0, though the QC 2.0 charger does not come out of the box. But imo, who needs fast charging when the battery life can last up to 2-3 days with this phone.
in it's specs sheet in gsmarena quick charge 3.0 is listed. That's why i asked.
anyway, what's the best quick charge 2.0 charger out there? and will that charge the device faster than the original charger?

The 625 snapdragon processor does support Quick Charge 3.0, but Xiaomi prohibits using it i guess to cut cost, i know some user who try to use QC 3.0 on this phone but it doesn't work, to be honest i'm also not sure about QC 2.0, my advice is you should try testing it first by borrowing QC 2.0 charger with some of your friends/relatives that has QC 2.0 charger before attempting to buy one.

No QC 2.0 support for me, tested with new xiaomi powerbank 10000mAh, ampere show max usb current 500 mAh instead of 2000 mAh. However from measurement I can get 1700-2000mAh so still charging fast enough.
Redmi 4 supports Fast Charging (i.e. about 2A), not any form of Quick Charge. The chipset supports it, but as Xiaomi have decided not to pay Qualcomm the royalties they charge for QC, it's disabled at a low level in the phone. It might be possible to enable it via custom kernel, but I don't think it's been done yet if so.

you mean that from the measurement you're getting a CURRENT reading of 1.700 to 2.000 Amps, right? Because mAh is the capacity measurement while A or mA is the current measurement?
To be on topic, the hardware inside (global version - snapdragon) and the battery support QC v1-3 specs but quickcharge is disabled.
The phone will charge at 1.8A or 1800 mA for about 10 minutes between 20% and 55%. battery capacity.

CURRENT WILL NOT RAISE ABOVE 2A by now. ONLY VOLTAGE WILL BE INCREASE, but with decreasing current.
I tested a bit :
with QC 3 compactible Aukey PA-T16 charger, Ampere shows 2030mA
with Anker 40W 5 port charger Ampere shows 1830mA.
I have a Redmi 4 (standard edition) and I also have a USB Ammeter/Voltmeter which I can use to measure actual voltage and current flow into the device.
Using a standard 2A charger, the device accepts 4.9-5.1v (average 5.0v) at 1.5A (1500ma), and rarely exceeds this due to the voltage drop of the charger circuit /transformer in the wall plug.
Using a Quick Charge 3.0 charger (Capable of 5v, 9v, 12v and dynamically 5v-12v for QC3.0), I was able to charge the Redmi 4 at 6.2v/2.1A. The peak voltage was 6.24V and peak current 2.4A (momentary).
The Redmi 4 will charge at 6.2v and 2.1A with a Quick Charge 3.0 compatible charger when the battery is totally flat. As with all batteries the current slowly decreases as the internal resistance of the battery increases as it charges.
This is 13 Watts of power, 1.7 times higher than the 7.5 watts provided by the included '2A' charger. Thus, while it does not officially have QC3.0 capability, the device is still able to utilise a slight boost from the chipset's compatibility with higher voltages. Realistically, this means you could cut down on the charge time by around 1/3, and even moreso when charging from, for example, 0%-30%.

Fast charging support?

I use the stock 5V 1A charger and charging time is about 3 hours. Can i use a P10 lite charger that is 9V 2A? Will it damage the battery or charging hardware?
it could damage the phone in the long run
9V 2A charger won't damage the phone because it will never charge it with 9V as the phone don't support it. The charger will charge the phone with 5V 2A and this one is totally safe
So if i use a 5V 2A charger (my tablet charger), there will be an increase in charging speed?

Strange phenomenon on charging S10+

I am charging my S10+ (Snapdragon version) with Anker A2029.
S10+ supports Samsung AFC, USB-PD and QC, while Anker A2029 supports USB-PD.
I am measuring the voltage with a USB type-C meter made by Satechi.
Plugged in the cable, around 4.8V is measured. So it is not fast-charging with USB-PD 9V.
I have borrowed the Apple USB-PD charger, and it can charge with 9V.
I have unplugged the Anker A2029 from the "plug-extension-bar" (what is it called in English?), and pluged onto another one on another location.
And now, Anker A2029 charges with 9V.
So it seems to be too many electric applicants consuming power on the bar, making A2029 lacks of power.
Plugging back A2029 onto the original extension-bar, tring to charge the MagicPro ProMini PM15, it charges at 19V.
I am confused.
Why can't the A2029 charge S10+ at 9V?

Anker wireless quick charger with Samsung wall charger

Hi there
I would like to buy a fast wireless charger for my Samsung S9 Plus, which is a european version and come with a wall charger from samsung, the adaptive fast charging. The wall charger from samsung has this output specs:
9.0V and 1.67A or
5.0V and 2.0 A
Meanwhile the wireless charger from Anker https://www.anker.com/products/variant/anker-powerwave-fast-wireless-charging-pad/A2501011 is sold wihout the wall charger ( to which it need to be connected of course), my question is: I can use the anker wireless fast charger with the wall charger from samsung? Because the anker website state that you need to use it with a Quickcharge 3.0 wall charger (that has more output voltage/ampere steps than the standard samsung wall power charger that I have describe above).
