I have not been able to find any threads for the Nexus 10, but I was wondering if it were possible to dual boot the Nexus10?
My goal is to try and install both Android and Ubuntu Touch preview on my nexus 10 tablet so I could try out Ubuntu touch without losing all of my android functionality.
Are there any resources on how to do this and has anyone ever attempted to do dual booting on the Nexus 10.

I found MultiROM for the nexus 7, which seems to work exact how I wanted, even supporting booting from otg cable. However, there was no release for Nexus 10, or planned, and there was one thread asking about its existence on the Nexus 10 but was locked by a moderator for being in the wrong sub forum.

What's the thread for it? Maybe we can get some developers to port it to Nexus 10 .
Pretty sure kernel/recovery is a big part of duel booting and not a Rom

Yes it mostly has to do with kernel and recovery but rom must also be edited to work on dual boot. On my xperia play I can boot up to 4 ROMs using turbo kernel. The kernel creates slots on the SD card where the other ROMs are installed. I don't know a lot about how its done. But its very useful to have especially when you have a low ram phone so you could boot different android versions. Now if someone could get that done for nexus 10 it'd be awesome. Cosmicdan is the developer who did it for xplay

Hello. I know this should go in the android development area, but I can't post there since I have not posted 10 other posts yet...I have a nexus 4 and I installed CM10 using the installer that was available for a little while...It worked great, but I would like to update my nexus 4 to CM11 Snapshot M3. Do I need to wipe the device to do this update? I'd really rather not wipe it if at all possible....Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Anyone?

Going from cm 10 to 11 you should wipe. You could try not doing it but you'll most likely have problems.

I don't know if it's in the correct section (move this thread wherever is appropriate, and sorry for that)
Guys, miui based on MM are out, i understand that patchrom is still 4.4.4, but there's no other way to port it without using it?
Thanks

PathROM was designed to help porting MIUI to devices. I used it 3-4 years ago for porting MIUI to my LG P500. A developer/user could definitely go the manual way, but it would be mess.
Anyways, why do you need MIUI on your 6P? I have had a nightmare using MIUI. And last I used was on the Nexus S.

Well, i just like it more than i like cyanogen or other roms... Also has awesome themes and i like the design of the rom.
I understand that is not maybe the best rom for modding or battery usage, but still a great looking rom.

I can definitely agree on that point. Let us hope someone ports it.
Isnt there a miui v7 for nexus 5? Not sure about 5x, but definately should be possible, just dont think that devs are interested in miui

Exactly. Only a few people care for MIUI now.

3rd post in this thread would help - http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-build-port-miui-rom-to-device-t3250984
When I started with MIUI port, we didn't had patchrom anyway near, so we followed something like this.

I may use some help here...
I extracted everything that is necessary and I have copied over the files, how to symlink everything together again? I'm using windows, I suspect I should use linux and extract everything there, right? Or there is any android kitchen (that support 6.x) that helps with this?
Many thanks

I remember using a script from one of the developers, not sure who or when, or would have found it for you. Give a swipe on XDA for Android Kitchens that could help. I am sorry that I am not able to help much here.

I'm dont really know anything about porting ROMs, but if you tell me what you're having issues with I can try to help in finding the solution. Willing to do anything I can to help out

Thank you guys, I will use your help.
Today I will look into it, for the moment i'm still figuring out how to keep symlinks and permissions on windows, but i guess it's impossible. I will try firing up a vm with nix if everything fails.
Ok, so... I made a system and boot img, but I didn't tested those, and I can't get the updater-script to work. If someone helps me with this, I will be really thankful.
The permissions and symlinks part is something that worries me, but I keeped the symlinks and permission from original system.img filesystem by mounting it as a drive in linux and applying mods there.
Also, I keeped every part of the symlink script that camed with miui, so it should tecnically work.
If some of you guys helps me testing this, we can do it.
**** WARNING. IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE AND AT THE MOMENT, IT DOESN'T WORK!!! ****
Here is the rom: https://mega.co.nz/#!b90GSJRa!7rXM2UhwtEw8M0fbIrK2F3za9w5KTGY1FPD4IGmHu1k
It was ported from the Mi Note (not the pro) which has really similar specs to our device, and this version also includes an italian translation (so there are 3 langs, English, Chinese and Italian)
No ones helping? I really wish i could help you with the testing but as i dont have computer access right now dont wanna brick my 6p without being able to repair it without pc.
Ok, i managed to get the rom flashed... So. The boot image seems almost fine, since i got to the bootanimation screen. There, it stucks.
I don't know how to debug it, since the adb doesn't show up (and is active in kernel)
I activated adb by the use of:
Code:
ro.adb.secure=0
ro.secure=0
ro.allow.mock.location=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp,adb
persist.service.adb.enable=1
persist.service.debuggable=1
in the kernel default.prop... I don't know if these lines are outdated, but i'm still trying guys.
Also, you can reach me out on hangouts at: cappy95(at)gmail.com
Hey guys,
I have a oneplus 2 with 3.1.0 OOS and there doesnt work auto rotation.
I disable and enable it and dont work.
On the OnePlus 2 works only OOS based roms.
If I install CM13/14 or Paranoid Android, its hang on boot animation for hours...
I tried all solutions in this forum and tried all recoveries with firmware switches and all not working.
My OnePlus had a hard brick and I have fix it with qualcomm and since this moment, I can try a custom rom. :c
I hope anyone can help me and can understand me.
Sorry for my bad english

Did you try to ask Oneplus Support for help? Looks like you got a hardware issue of some sort, can't tell which.

Hello,
I have a quite unusual question..
my phone is being recognised by XDA app as Axon 7, although i have Nubia z17 Lite.
The app displays the model detail as ZTE NX591J
My phone info displays just NX591J
It would be good to confirm it or reject this as im looking for a new ROM for it, but the Nubia support is quite small and there is not much to choose from

Did you have custom rom from Nubia z17 installed? If so, that might be the reason.
On xda app, mine is showing as A2017A even though I have the U version. And, there is no such device exist on xda. This is because I installed custom rom for A2017A. So, I just do a search on Axon 7 and all threads are now properly showing as they should
no, i have factory rom on, thats why i want to change it XD
xda always does this
it happened with my axon 7 and some other device
pay no attention to it and correct the model yourself
dont try to flash a rom that doesnt match your model because of some app
