Portrait Resolution? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

When using portrait mode (not the full body) images come out at 4000x3000 even though it's using the telephoto lens (i confirmed by putting something in front of it to block it)
How is this possible if the resolution of the sensor is only 3264x2448?

Portrait mode doesn't actually use the telephoto lens. You'll need to manually switch to it in Pro mode to use it. (or just use gcam)

When in portrait mode when in viewfinder i cover the telephoto lens and it blocks the viewfinder so how is it not using the telephoto lens?
And how do i use portrait mode in pro mode that doesn't make sense?

And i just took a portrait picture while covering the main lens and it still worked so it's definitely not using the main lens for portrait (in daylight at least)

Back camera partially broken?

Hello,
I have the stock Oreo rom and I'm using the stock camera app .
I have the phone since a couple months and I find the pictures of low quality when taking close-up pics. (A pictures of a keyboard will give me blurry letters numbers for example)
In the stock camera, I have no option like portrait mode, 2x zoom or dual watermark.
In most 3rd party app, the default camera is the front one.
For what I've tried in manual mode if I zoom in and out with a finger on one of the two camera I only get an image from the telephoto one and not from the wide-angle one.
Could it be that one of the 2 camera is not working or do I need to do something to enable something?
Should I sent it in warranty?
Regards,
Better you attach a screenshot of stock camera missing the features
I don't have the option "dual camera" that you can see on the top of this photo:

I neither do have the blue icon at the top of this photo:

I've seen also in xiaomi forum that the default back camera is the wide-angle and that 3rd party app can't access the telephoto lens.
In my case the default camera is the telephoto lens and some 3rd parties app can't access my back camera.
Same happened with me, so I went to setvice center and they replaced both the cams. There is no other way. It is going to get worse day by day. My Telephoto lens was working fine but the standard one was taking blurry photos. At first it wasn't noticable but then it became more and more blurry.
You should take it to service center

Quick Tip- Take 108MP photos with native lens options

You can use the native lens options -Ultra Wide - Normal - 5x with 108MP. Just switch to 4:3 (Non 108) select the focal length (must be a non digital zoom) then select 4:3 108MP. You cannot switch between lenses while in 108MP mode.
Just though I'd throw that out there I have heard ppl saying it crops when changing to 108MP. But I think it is just selecting a native lens.

Camera focus issue only on standard wide camera

Hi all,
I don't use the camera on my phone a lot but I just discovered that the standard wide camera can't focus anymore (it's all blurry, as shown in the first attached screenshot).
If I switch to the wide angle or zoom camera (the other 2 screenshots), no problem.
If I enable super macro mode on the standard wide camera, the problem disappear.
I tried to clear cache on the camera app but it didn't change anything.
I tried another app (gcam) and the problem is the same.
I checked that there was nothing on the lenses (dust...) or captors (lasers for the auto focus).
Do you guys have any new idea to help me ?
Thanks !!
