Hey guys. Really confused. I am trying to achieve a setting, where the phone would be silent BUT vibrate on all the notifications (phones, bluemail, etc). But whatever settings I choose - it is either all or nothing (e.g. if Silent/DnD not enabled - it rings and vibrates, and if Silent/DND available - it does not even vibrate. Though both in general and app settings I've enabled "vibrate on silent" option).
Any thoughts how to help that? Global 10.3.9
Silent should vibrate, don't enable dnd and make sure the vibrate quick tile is activated
@ETheHedgehog By silent you mean "Mute" mode? (Crossed bell icon)?
As for the tile - Sound & Vibration -> Vibrate -> Vibrate in Silent Mode?
If yes - it does not work. Notification appears on the lock screen (lighting the screen), but no vibration at all..

I know its frustrating, but the way way you have to enable "show on lockscreen" for every app you want notifications from you also have to enable "vibrate" in the same menu.

No, but seriously - I did set it up for each app individually. In particular my Blue mail. Vibrate is on in both general and individual app settings. I think it bugged. No vibration at all.
Have you had any luck with this issue? I'm having the same problem with MI9T (Global 11.0.4)
Hey guys!
I have an issue that drives me crazy.
Is there an app or something that I can enable less frequent notifications?
I would like for example to receive only one notification per app every 5 minutes.
I'm rooted with the latest developer xiaomi.eu rom.
Thank you in advance.

I don't know if i am missing something or what. In eclair you have vibrate as its own seperate level ( Silent -> Vibrate -> Volume 1 ->Volume 2 -> ect...). On froyo I have not been able to make vibrate its own seperate level, its either Vibrate only in silent mode, Vibrate only when not in silent mode, always, or never. Am i over-looking something?

Wouldn't Vibrate in silent mode be the same as vibrate? It will only vibrate because its...silent.
Nope, vibrant isn't the same as silent.. At my company, even a vibrating phone during meetings is a no no....

Simple Sound Profile Widget
I don't know if this will help you but go into the Market and download a free app/widget called Simple Sound Profile Widget. This is a great app that i use. You can place a widget on home screen and switch between profiles with a click and easily create new profiles. To give you an idea of how i have mine set up:
1) Loud - All sounds are set to the highest with vibrate on
2) Normal - All sounds are set to half with vibrate on
3) Silent - All sounds are off and vibrate is on
4) None - No alerts of any kind
I don't know if you looking to just switch between audio alerts and vibrate alerts easily this is the quickest and best way that i have found. You can rename the profiles to what you want them to be. This will also place a link in your notification bar so you can at a glance know what profile you are on and even change profiles without going to your home screen.
Hey I am new to these forums and the CM7 ROM for the shift. I put it on last night and I am having some trouble with the notification settings. On the stock sense ROM I was able to set my notifications to vibrate when I got one, mainly a text message. On the CM7 ROM for notifications I can only put it to "no noise" at all or a ringtone, like a beep. I would like to have a vibrate option but I cannot seem to find one. I appreciate all the help. Let me know if you need any more information, thanks.
try this: go into settings then sound setting, then under general tap on vibrate and set it to always..
or u can open up ur messages then hit menu and then settings the scroll down to notifications make sure notifications are checked then go to notification settings and tap vibrate and set it to always

That worked! Thank you, I didnt even think about going about it that way.
I had this problem too...
Go to Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget
Now check "Notification Power Widget" and then go into widget buttons.
Pick whatever tickles your fancy, but make sure toggle sound is on. You can also change the types of sound in the bottom "Sound Modes" Category and you caan change the order if you hit "Back" then "Widget Button Order".
Now reboot your device and when it turns back on, slide down the notification bar and at the top there should be a toggle which looks like Vibrate/Sound/Silent and that's how you change the sound!
I am also having this issue. i have no vibrate on any text messaging or even gmail .
I have the newest cm7, have tried turning vibrate on where ever i could. Wiped and re flashed but have the same problem .
phone will only vibrate on call and when i change from silent to vibrate.

Inviato dal mio GT-I9505 con Tapatalk 2
I have observed this exact same problem with Tapatalk: the inability to disable vibration during notifications. I'm surprised that more people aren't annoyed by this.
When I go into the Tapatalk Settings, and click "Advanced Settings" under "NOTIFICATION", there is a "Vibrate" option that I have set to "Never". Yet, the phone always vibrates when I receive a Tapatalk notification.
I have seen similar behavior from other apps, such as K9-Mail. When I filed a bug report about this behavior, the K9-Mail developers insisted that core notification functionality had been changed in the Android operating system, which changed the notification behavior in many existing apps.
The solution in K9-Mail was to uncheck the Vibrate setting but also set the notification ring tone to "Silent". For me, this had the intended effect: the phone never vibrates for email, regardless of whether the phone is in silent mode or not.
My understanding of the Android-level change to notifications is that the phone will vibrate for a notification, even if the parent application's vibration setting is off, provided that the phone itself is in "Vibrate Mode" (the mode when the volume rocker is between "Silent" and the lowest possible audible volume). This is why setting the ringtone to "Silent" "fixes" the problem.
Might anyone have any thoughts on this, or a "trick" for disabling vibration completely in Tapatalk?
Hi all,I would like to disable the vibration when switching from ring mode to silent mode.Think you for help.
Note 3 N9005
try disabling vibrations in sound settings menu :good:
Thinks
But I'm looking for a way to disable the vibration that occurs when going ringer to vibrate or silent.
With tasker application, I switch my silent as the time that the screen is on and then he starts ringing once extinguishes screen, but this has conséquace to vibrate once (and strong enough more) each unlocking.
Excuse my bad english
Tried Gravity Box?
Ok thank you, I'll try and inform you.

Thanks you for your proposition, I have checking all menus of Gravity Box but I don't found the option needed.
If someone may propose the exact parameter in a menu defined of Gravity Box maybe that I haven't see it.
Maybe that it's possible to disable this vibration by editing a file in the system with a text editor ?
Hello.
We have the function "Do Not Disturb", that silent phone calls. This function don't disable notifications sounds or camera shutter, like mutting the phone.
Is there a way to mute ALL sounds, including notifications and other sounds, in a programmable way like "do not disturb"?
I tried some apps like "Automate It" and "Droid Automation", but they don't work as expected.
Thanks in advice.
As you may have noticed, pressing the volume - key only carries you to vibration mode. To enable the mute, you have to open the quick settings pane and click on the speaker icon. It will alternate between sound, vibration and mute. The only volume it doesn't mute is the alarm sound, but it is understandable.

Yeah, I know that, but I wanna a way to do this in a programmable way, like we can do with "do not disturb". This function is activated in a configurable hour and duration, but it don't disable notification sounds!

The only thing you can do is to mute the phone during a certain time. I don't know if in Do not disturb settings you can silence notifications, maybe in the Allow exceptions menu. But I'm not sure, I've never used that feature

I don't know any way to do that, hopefully with Android O update they improve Do not disturb
My phone has no camera shutter sound when it's on vibrate mode and silent mode. No notification sound unless I enable the sound mode.
