how come none of the custom roms come with the stock kernel???

just woundering why all these roms come with no kernel or a custom kernel and not the stock kernel? thanks

Installing a custom ROM on a custom kernel

Hi all,
I have a question regarding flashing a custom ROM on my phone. My S5 is running Lollipop with the original stock Touchwiz (tailored to my phone provider in Europe) and I have flashed a custom kernel on it. Now, I want to flash a custom ROM to get Marshmallow.
Is it safe to flash a custom ROM on a custom kernel or do I have to go back to the original kernel?
