Hi,
So first I'll give the background of what I've done & then ask the question. I was on a custom ROM on my S7 Flat which was Pie based and I had updated the BL files prior to that via TWRP. Now I am from India so I wanted to go to stock firmware via ODIN and I had some old firmware which I tried flashing & got an error. I came to know that I can't flash older firmware as I flashed the July BL files. So I went to Singapore country stock firmware via ODIN as that had the June security patch which went successful. Now I want to go to Indian firmware but the latest one that's available is May over the web.
My question is being on a June security patch of Singapore firmware can I flash the May Indian firmware via ODIN? Will this cause any issue?

The basic knowledge is Samsung's Flashing depends upon binary if you have same binary Firmware as your phone or higher than your phone you can flash any regional Firmware.

Hello,
I'm currently using my stock firmware on a factory unlocked GT-I9505, but due to region-specific setting I cant seem to change, I want to change firmware. I was wondering if uploading firmware from SamMobile will still allow me to download updates via OTA, and will it void my warranty.
You can download any firmware, from samsung updates or sammobile, that is for i9505.
Flash with odin.
Do a factory reset from recovery. Will wipe everything, but will also ensure you have the correct CSC for your firmware.
This means you can get OTA updates in the future for the region you have chosen.
I bought my in netherlands which has PHE I think and changed it to Nordic NEE. Now I get NEE updates over the air.
As for warranty. Think you should flash correct region from where you bought it. If you have to send it in for repairs, just in case.
Not if the firmware you flash is the latest.... You can't OTA an older firmware over the latest...
I want to flash stock but I have no firmware files for it, and I can't downgrade with Odin.
Using the Edge variant if that's needed to be known.
Anyone have the firmware files?
I need the FW too!! i cannot update my 930A

Hi,
I bought my S7 edge form Portugal, the phone is factory unlocked.
Now I'm back in my country and I thought I should download from sammobile the official firmware of my carrier provider or the global version.
I'm not sure if I'll still receive OTA updates if I flash the firmware with ODIN, and if that's the case, please tell me if there's any other methods to flash the baseband without causing updates issues in the future.
I want to update the fw because Volte doesn't work.
Another question, I don't have a PC, so I was wandering if I can install Odin on Mac or in VmWare?

I had s4(4.4.2) rooted now I have completely removed the root by flashing stock firmware which I got from this post. I downloaded the turkey 4.4.2 listed under GT-I9500 firmwares although I am in india. Now when I try to update trough settings > software update, I I get msg "The latest updates have already been installed.". So is it happening because I flashed turkey's firmware, pls help me how to get lollipop update.
Flash India (INU) or India (INS) firmware. Either should work, but using the INS CSC is probably best, as that apparently is for unlocked devices. The reason you're not getting an update is the phone is not in the same region as the firmware installed on it.
Stock firmware for the gt-i9500 is here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9500/INS/
@audit13: Already covered that.
My bad, I didn't click on the links

Hello folks,
I would like to update my S7 Edge (SM-G935F) to the latest Nougat firmware which if I'm not mistaken arrived UK BTU, which is:
PDA - G935FXXU1DQB3
CSC - G935FOXA1DQB1
I would like to install it via Odin, the most stock way possible (don't want root or custom recovery), just because that I'm tired that it haven't arrived OTA in my country (PT).
But I have a few questions regarding this manually update to the latest firmware of another country:
1) Manually installing the latest update from BTU UK will stop me from receiving future OTA updates? and if no, will I be receiving the OTA updates in the future from UK or PT??
2) My device with the currently firmware has no bloatware from any network (was bought unlocked), if I upgrade to the latest firmware from BTU UK, will I still have no bloatware? (or bloat will be installed?)
3) Will I have any problem from installing a firmware from other country (being both for the same model: SM-G935F)?
Thank you very much in advance! :good:
I have everything ready to make the manual flash, just want to clear this things out before I do it.
Thanks

Each country or region has it's own CSC which can be easily flashed
by itself without the need to odin flash a different country's full firmware.
The only time you need to think about bloatware is if you flash a specific
carrier's firmware like perhaps vodaphone and most other carriers add
their own bloatwares. But if you only flash the regional firmware for your
country or region like BTU UK you will not end up with bloatware.
Good luck and happy flashing!

Future OTA's will not be a problem if you have flashed
the proper CSC for your country before trying to update
future firmwares.

So you are saying that first I should change my CSC to the UK, then flash the latest firmware via Odin and won't have to worry about future updates? Can't I simply flash the latest UK BTU firmware and it will change the CSC and get me the latest firmware in once?
