Helo,
is there a way to change CSC without change KNOX status? Have you seen any documentation to do this? Or linked necessery files?
What CSC is preffered if I need call recording option on call menu?
thank you
update: based on a nice answer from another topic, I think its possible, because we just use another (signed) binary to do this. Am I right?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79969137&postcount=46
ps: can somebody confirm that official call recording option exist in allowed countries? (so worth to change CSC)
Hi, I just managed to unlock the call recording feature in my A40 - and it works! However, the overall procedure changed the Knox status. I am pretty sure it will not work without rooting the phone, because you have to gain r/w access in the system partition.
if you are familiar with flashing thing with odin just download the frimware with the csc you want and flash it but youll loose your files, also you can only flash the home csc but theres a chance the csc wont change but you wont loose your data , or flash the CSCblabla.md5 and itll work

Hello guys/gals, wondering if someone can advise me on getting Wifi calling enabled on an unbranded Galaxy S5.
I am a current EE (uk) customer still tied into them with a S4 contract. Just bought an S5 for a good price and want to take advantage of EE's wifi calling as my signal at home is dreadful.
The S5 i have bought is an unbranded version and comes with a BTU firmware. I am aware that an EVR (EE branded) firmware is required to use the feature.
After hours of googling I have come across the following possible options availible to me, but wanted advice on what is the best method eg most likely to work without problems.
Option 1:
Remove the Hidden.img file (and recompile with total commander) from an EVR firmware (to prevent the Ext.4 error that odin would throw up when trying to flash) then flash this with odin.
Cons: maybe something in the Hidden.img is required by the firmware and phone may be unstable ?
Option 2:
Root phone and edit CSC to enable the wifi calling feature
Cons: Does it actually work ? I know it enables the option but not seen definitive proof it actually works.
Option 3:
Flash the EVR firmware and repartition with a .PIT file, to enlarge the partition thus allowing a branded firmware to be flashed on an previously unbranded phone.
Cons: Apparently this is a very risky procedure and i have only seen one thread and instance of somebody actually doing this http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26841&page=2
What do you guys think?
Anyone done it and can vouch for a method (or think of another method??)
I spent hours both researching this and trying various methods to no avail! In the end, following something from another thread (not sure where) I got a serial number from a friend who had and EE branded S5 and used this with emergency firmware recovery option in the official Samsung software (can't remember what it's called now! )
As I recall, you select the menu option for emergency firmware recovery without the phone connected, it will ask you for a model number, which is case sensitive, then it asks for a serial number, which needs to be a an EE one. It then gives you instructions for putting the phone into download mode, you follow the instructions and connect the phone and it installs the EE firmware.
This was the easiest, safest and most straight forward way I could do it.
Hi,
Tried to flash firmware to get rid of vodafone csc from my new s8 but csc keep staying VOD i want it BTU ideally.
Has anyone tried it yet and done it?

It doesn't work stays VOD no matter what i do

This shouldn't be a problem so let me help. First some questions...
1. From which carrier/country is your phone?
2. Does it have a network lock?
3. Is it the Model number SM-G950F?
4. Which files did you flash via Odin (please type the actual filenames) and with which settings in Odin?
5. If you go into Settings - About phone - Software information - Service provider software. Please tell me the first and third line there under this point.

Hi,
1. Bought from Vodafone UK
2. Removed lock by code
3 G950F
4 Sorry don't have access to my laptop now but I've
Downloaded latest btu software from sammobile
unpacked it and used as per instructions. Tried using either home_csc or the other one but no luck either
Settings tried just standard and tried pit and reformat didn't work either
5. SAOMC_SM-G950F-OXM_XEU_077
XEU/XEU/VOD
when go into recovery it's still VOD tho
You have done all you could do.
You needed to flash with normal CSC NOT with HOME_CSC to change the CSC.
Your new CSC is XEU!
It still shows XEU/XEU/VOD because VOD is the original CSC of your phone. This is new for the S8 and could not be changed! But normally you will get OTA updates for your new XEU CSC just fine! And any Vodafone-Apps should also be removed.
So everything is like on Samsung devices debranded bevore - beside that the factory CSC is hard branded inside the phone. But thats just optical. Everything else works like it is an XEU CSC.

Are you sure about that? In the past if you didnt change properly the CSC after unbranding your phone you werent getting OTA updates anymore, i've read on SamMobile you gotta use Smart Switch using the serial number of a phone you know has that CSC, but i dont know how to find one, no one answered me on here. I'm thinking of going into a store and look at the exhibition one, but im afraid it's not legal to do that.
Hi,
I have a Verizon S7 and I want to permanently use it in Europe, France specifically.
I put a French SIM in and can place calls, but internet did not initially work, however, I did not try to change APN settings.
My question is, is there a specific firmware I can download that will put the latest updates on there and allow future updating on a non-Verizon network? If so, which firmware would that be? I'd prefer to have all Verizon stuff removed, too.
Finally, by default, French is not in language support, but I'd like to add that, if possible.
You can flash firmware from G930U model that is unlocked version for US
Thanks. Do I need to set boot pin or anything? I saw some threads saying you have to set boot pass or pin before you flash.
Also, will there be a way to do system updates? I mean, like updating to nougat?
Hello,
i'm in the same situation than you.
Please, can anyone provideme a link to the exact rom to flash in this moment (i found broken links and obsolete roms)
If I understand correctly this is that I need to do:
1-install samsung drivers and Odin 3.12
2-Flash rom g930u(need your help to provide me) without modifying any odin settings
3-Enjoy
this is ok?
Many thanks

hey @H0wdy, i know this is a month late but here goes:
This is what I would do if you were you
-download and extract the zip I attached on a link at the bottom, extract it, and open up Samfirm program, plug in your phone in download mode i believe please double check the original linked thread (hold volume down + home + power for 7 seconds ) put in your phone model SM-G930V and put XAA as region
-next it will search for the latest international update for your phone and click download, (make sure auto decrypt is on) this take a little while to download and then decrypt, but you should end up with a zip file on your desktop containing G930U files (which i happened to upload for you anyhow, but if case you dont want to download the uiversal rom, i uploaded one for you if you wish to use that. If you wanted to do it the safe way instead of using my older Uinversal firmware, I would follow above instructions.
Next open Odin, click BL find the appropriate BL file, click CSC find that file and select, as well as the other two with AP being last make sure to use OYM CSC not HOME.
- then simply boot phone into download mode: hold Power volume- and home upon restart and it should get you into bootloader. click UP, and if your phone is recognized by your computer go ahead and flash your new universal rom.
It has NO verizon bloat and more features such as Wifi calling and Video chat phone calls!
anyway if you need more help refer to this link here if you need help with this software. I found it incredibly straight forward.
you will be able to choose French upon setup of your phone.

Hello everyone,
I had had horrible time tweaking my S8. Lots of my applications refuse to work with custom roms so that I had to keep stock rom. However, stock rom means no call recording! This is also unacceptable. Flashing different csc codes do not help because the regional csc codes do not allow call recording.
a- Special CSC file used. Call recording works. No bloatware.
b- Device is in original stock status so applications are happy working.
c- After csc change I flashed the original bootlader so no twrp exist.
Is there any chance to take backup of this device with the custom csc and in terms of any problem that I can restore.
Warning: Do this at your own risk, I am not responsible for any damage that is caused to your device. This method worked for me and should work for everyone.
Credit to yakapa40 on XDA for the apk. This would be impossible without him!
You must make sure the model numbers are the same for the country you want to change to. To check that go to
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/recent/
and type in your device model number. leave country code blank. The countries that are listed are those that will work on your specific device. DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT MODEL NUMBER COUNTRY!
MAKE sure device has above 70% battery just to be safe
OK lets start!
Backup all your data on samsung cloud and google
This will **erase** all your data
Download samsung drivers
https://www.hardreset.info/download/samsung-drivers/
Check the CSC code you want from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546689 credit to Jasi2169
Important later
download the firmware you want from sammobile (slow download speed) or
https://samfw.com/ for faster download speeds.
It will be a zip file so use winrar to extract and you should get 5 files that start with
AP (System &Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC\_ (Country / Region / Operator)
HOME\_CSC (Country / Region / Operator)
DELETE the home file
Next download Odin
https://dl2018.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.14.4.zip
Extract the Odin file and run as administrator
Add each file to its respective field in Odin
Now we need to put the phone in download mode to do that go to:
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-a51/download-mode/
keep trying until it works.
Next plug the device in and press start. It should take about 3-4 mins for odin to say PASS
DO NOT UNPLUG THE PHONE AT ANY POINT EVEN AFTER ODIN SAYS PASS
Let the phone do its thing and dont worry if it takes too long on the Samsung screen.
You should then be greeted with the welcome screen BUT it may not be the correct language so set it to English (I flashed UK firmware and it came in Russian)
Set the phone up but dont worry about apps we are going to reset the phone again
Head over to (APK provided by yakapa40)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hU3vl_V7NsRgI_RsQywytORoB8isJ1ni/view?usp=sharing
on your device or PC and download it. Extract and it should be a apk file. Download it with your device.
Allow unknown sources and it should says done and not open (that is normal)
put you device in flight mode/airplane mode
hold down the home screen and go to themes
Galaxy themes
My stuff
Select mysterious theme(make sure not to click update)
Select try it out
Go to Settings
About phone
Legal information
Change Carrier or whatever third option is (the one that says android 10)
Choose and install the CSC you want (that 3 letter code) remove sim and it will restart phone
again, dont worry if its on the Samsung screen for too long.
You should be back on the welcome screen and you are done!!!
Set up the phone and enjoy!!!
Credit to yakapa40 again on XDA for the apk. This would be impossible without him!

hey, my galaxy theme has not try out option in airplane mode ,, it says check network connection (it has only two button check connection and try again , no try out)... what should I do?
I already installed the mysterious theme and select "try it out", I went to "settings", About phone and in "Legal Information", the option "Change Carrier" does not appear, what could be the problem?
The software version says it is October 1, 2020. Thanks!

Hi, I changed csc on my A51 in order to enable native call recording feature ( Italian stock firmware and Vietnam XXV CSC ) but after last OTA update ( build a515fxxu5eug5 ) google pay stopped working due to "unsafe firmware", as it was rooted.
Which is your advice ?

No. I think there was some problem with THAT update....because after further updates it started working again...

Sounds like very thing works fine now on your phone? How s that call recording func ,works as expected with Bluetooth headphones connected as well ? What about caller id ,assume since region has changed It won't gonna detect correct local numbers,am I right? Thanks for sharing!
Nono, everything about calls (and recording) works perfectly, with headphones, too
