Your in luck!
The solid answer is that the Bootloader for the Verizon GS5 with the "CID11" Cannot be Unlocked (ONLY the "CID15" can).
Your only option is the ability to use the Customized TW Firmware (TW = TouchWiz) via SafeStrap.
The OP on the following thread provides further information on your options as well as instructions if you do decide to go with TW Firmware and SafeStrap.

[Q] Want to update SM-N900V To 4.4.2

Good morning guys, Please pardon my ignorance if you find anything dumb about this post, I just switched back to Android yesterday.
I want to side load 4.4.2 on my Verizon Note 3 Using Odin. I found this write up here --
http://androidcentral.us/2014/01/update-galaxy-note-3-to-android-4-2-2-kitkat/
A couple of things that concerned me were it has to be factory unlocked. "Make sure your phone is factory unlocked. It is compatible for both users". Being that it is global ready does that mean it is "unlocked"?
I know I should root but being that I just got it I want to make sure there is not anything wrong with it first etc as I heard once rooted its irreversible and Samsung would know (correct me if I am wrong).
Any follow up insight would be great thanks guy.
First question. Are you with Verizon? If yes, is the the developer edition? If no, then DO NOT FLASH THIS. The link you posted is for the international version of the note 3. Being able to use a Verizon n3 globally via adding that plan does not make it unlocked.
Also. There are a few other threads on this same exact topic.

If it is a developer edition. I know there ate more ROM options available for you to choose from. I think cm11 has been released, but I'm not sure. Search around.
I hope I caught you before you tried anything.

Alright thank you for clearing that up. I do not have the international or dev verison and I searched a little bit but did not find something to resolve my issue. Rooting it is then..

If you were to flash that it would most likely brick your phone. Just because you root your phone doesn't mean that it's permanently rooted or that "samsung will know". It's not hard to get rid of root access either. If you have never rooted a device before I suggest you do a little research on how to root your specific device before you start. There are a lot of write ups on XDA and other sites that will provide some very helpful information. I've read countless posts of people who rooted and started messing with files that they didn't know what they were for and ended up with a paperweight for a phone, all because they didn't take the time to search and read the forums first.

Razr owner going to GS5 Noob Questions!

I have been using the Razr now for almost 3 years. Time to move on!
I just wanted to get confirmation that the Sprint version of the phone was totally rootable?
Also:
1) Is there active tethering possible with this phone through a Custom Rom? What speeds does it get?
2) Do we have safe FXZ type options to return to stock?
Sorry for the questions that to most here are old news....I am just new

Root Sprint S5....Step-by-Step
I'm sure that you will love the S5. You should get in the habit of doing a forum search before posting though. You've been a member here for 4 years? A seaech enables you ro narrow down and ask better questions among other things. You would have found that the recent towel root will root pretty much any Android phone. At least until vendors roll out updated firmware that blocks the exploit.
You would also have found that there is a Sprint S5 subforum. You should be able to find threads about tethering there.
Most people will have no idea what FXZ is as you didn't spell it out. That's rather Moto-centric. You can use the Odin program to return to stock.

Domestic unlock for Sprint variant

It's been awhile sense ive been on here. While I was here there was a different guy working on the cm12 port and with that he spent a lot of time getting GSM working on the Sprint version. Now it's someone else and its for all variants so its been really difficult to find out what the process is. For most phones you have to do something special before flashing but it didn't seem that way last year when I had the phone. I want to give it to my daughter's mother who is on gsm straight talk. After rooting the device could I simply just flash any custom rom and gsm is instantly available or is there another step I'm missing. Ive searched a bit through the Q&A and general but because all variants share the same section I can't find a direct answer for my Sprint model.
Could someone please direct me in the right direction

1- You root the phone
2- You use this (easiest way): http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
3- You flash what you want
& next time, post question in the Q/A thread please.
Thank you! But to be clear. after rooting and flashing the recovery I can use any gsm sim and I don't have to do anything special, it'll just work (beyond me inputting the appropriate APN)
Yea sorry about not posting in Q&A.

Full process for updating stock AT&T S7 Edge from 6.0.1 MM to Nougat?

Hello everyone!
I've been looking around on the forums lately and normally with every device I've had with AT&T, the bootloader has been locked and I can't do anything about it. But after looking through everything I'm assuming that something happened and now, by using T-Mobile's firmware, we can upgrade to Nougat?
I've been trying to find an official guide on how to go about doing this, as I'm not 100% confident in myself to wing it lol. I have experience with installing custom roms and recoveries and rooting in the past, but it has been awhile.
Would it be at all possible for someone to make a full list with step-by-step instructions (and links to all the downloads) on how to go about doing this? (As well as the link to the stock firmware in case something goes wrong)
I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!
I'm currently on the stock firmware 6.0.1 Marshmallow (G935AUCS4APK1) with the November 1st security patch.

this is the exact opposite of a productive answer
in fact it's not even an answer
so uh....thanks? I guess I'll wait for some actual help.
Go to the guides news and discussion forum for the att s7 edge. It's got a few threads that will tell you exactly what to do.

I would like to know this as well.... I must be blind as I have not seen a single detailed tutorial or anything. I would like to update my At&t s7 edge (6.0.1 to Nougat). However, as I'm new to this I do not want to screw my phone up x).
If anyone would mind helping out that would be great as I've been looking and looking. Not seeing that there's any possible backup like TWRP's for the At&t s7 edge, I don't really want to risk anything.

Download, place on SD, boot to recovery and update from SD. You must be on att APK1 firmware. Also no apps disabled on phone with manager or any third party app.
Best bet wipe phone, set up like normal then flash nougat.
No one takes responsibility for anyone's phone. What you do to it is at your own risk. Good luck.

stock firmware for Samsung Galaxy s7 G930V

I rooted my phone a while ago and have now screwed something up on it. It keeps saying ISM service unavailable...every 2 seconds no matter what I try. If you have a fix for that, that's great and I'd love to hear it. However, I am just looking for stock firmware for my Galaxy S7 G930V VRU4CRE5 to fix the problem. I can't find it anyway...I'm also aware that I'm no expert on this stuff so if any other stock firmware, or heck even a custom ROM at this point, works for my version that you can suggest, well then any help is welcome! thank you.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3341138
Also, you can always obtain the specific firmware your looking for from one of the following links.

Good Luck!
