What ROMs can I use on this? Will things like J32XXX work on the device? Does it matter what OS version I use? (ex. 8.1, 6.0, Oreo, Lollipop, Pie, Nougat, ect.) What do I do if TWRP doesn't have my device?

I have a stock rom of my j3 2016 [j320fn] deodexed, and I was wondering, how do I change the OS (5.1 to 7.0 with all its features), any ideas? (Sorry for bad text,i'm not english )
In short, unless Samsung releases 7.0 for your J3 2016...you cant just make it Nougat. You can however explore XDA and find potential apps from other Samsung devices that are ports from Android 7.0 Nougat thslat have been ported to work on Lollipop. A good place to start would be here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/3-19-android-ported-device-apps-t3059096
Also you can do a general search for Nougat apps port and explore those links in search results for Nougat based apps.
Then you can also look here in our J3 section for non stock roms that are Nougat if any exist.

Hi i might be late and behind but i recently got Samsung galaxt s5 duos SM-G900FD (klteduos). I have experience in rooting (mi a2 lite) but I am just so confuse about this samsung device because there are alot of guides but has different model and codename. So can anyone help me install custom rom in (preferably Havoc OS) this device. It runs android 6.0.1 marshmallow. Thanks in advance
I've got a Samsung S8 model SM-G950U and I want to know if there are any google pixel style roms (vanilla Android 9.0) I can install? if there isn't a vanilla android 9.0 rom for this phone then I'd love to know how to downgrade to the newest security version of the Samsung s8 stock android 8.1 rom... I do not like Samsung's Android 9.0 for the S8 as it has broken lots of things in my phone which even a factory reset hasn't been able to fix (all problems weren't there on Samsung's Android 8.1) who has a fix and tutorial on what to do to install a vanilla 9.0 rom or a Samsung stock 8.1 rom?
Hi
I'm in resurrection remix 6.2 which is based on lineageos Oreo 8.1.
I'm using magisk, Xposed Framework and exposed edge which is important.
My question, if I want upgrade to pie, what is the safest way? Should I go with lineageos 17?
Edit: do I have install the stock pie from Xiaomi first, or is it enough to install a pie custom Rom. If latter, do I have then to update modem firmware or will this be done by the custom rim itself?
Any hints appreciated.
Hello everyone, I am currently using a stock samsung oneUI pie 9.0. But I recently wanted to do the unlock, root and all the other stuffs to install lineageOS 17 for having the experience of Android 10. However, I regularly use few oneUI features, like the edgescreen, samsung camera app, and the always ON display. I am assuming lineage OS doesn't have those. So, will flashing the lineage os be a good decision? are there any workarounds for the edgescreen, AOD and the sam camera app? please let me know! And thanks in advance ! :good:
