Hello all, I want to buy a k20 . But here is a problem that, in my country the price of Mi 9t and k20 which released in india just now is quite high compared to k20 chinese version. so here's some question of me:
if i flash global rom in k20 CN ,will it be equivalent to k20 indian version and Mi 9T?
and one last thing is the codename of k20 CN and k20 indian variant are same? because i am a custom rom lover.
(I dont need netflix hd)
Please help me with these queries. I am very much interested in becoming the part of this family.
On ordinary global ROM you can set India region and language (and you can flash it on CN Redmi K20, but you have to unlock bootloader and never lock it again). Maybe for India version of this phone will be different software (because of different codename) but maybe it will be the same. We have to wait.

So does it matter if I grab any Mi Note 2 and just install the global rom? Meaning that I grab the local and install the Global rom that it will work in the US on LTE? Thanks.
It's a confusing way they've named things but no.
Global rom and global edition are very different things.
The Global rom will run on all editions of the phone and includes Google apps.
The Global edition will run either Global or CN rom and has many more bands available for use.
Changing the ROM will not change the bands that the phone is capable of.

It's a hardware issue, not software.
Just wanted to be sure. I know that there are ways to open up LTE Bands on Snapdragon CPU, but don't know how easy or hard of is

I am not going to dissuade you from trying but I wouldn't try opening that can of worms and just get one of the newer Xiaomis that have global band support out of the box like the Mi Mix 2 or the Mi A1 (check the specs for both devices on gsmarena).
Mi A1

I am trying to find hard specifics on the Mi A1, as far as US Bands. We are about to get the Mi Note 2 Global, but my gawd is it hard to get Global ROMs from the Chinese sites. They can't seem to get shipments in and it's wait, wait, wait....
Been looking on the web for Mi A1 bands and I am under the impression it won't have several bands needed for Verizon/TMBL/AT&T....

Software is the same as global Oxygen OS rom, only if you buy from China you would get the Chinese version of the rom. You should be able to flash the global variant on all versions :good:
I need unlocked bootloader to do that or not?

No .. Unlock of bootloader is not required. I just answered how to flash the Global version here
Hope that helps :good:
My question isnt about language is about the band frecuency global version can support.
Or we can have issues with antirollback? And need to have unlocked bootloader.
Maybe even with bootloader unlocked bands will not be abailable.
Thanks for reading

The global version of the Redmi K20 as the Xiaomi Mi 9T will be on sale on Monday, June 17th with the 6GB/64GB version on sale for 299 Euros for that day only while supplies last. Phones come down in price after 2-3 months. Bands are shown here under Specs https://www.mi.com/global/mi-9-t/specs/
You need to unlock bootloader first then can flash to any firmware Global EU RU, but this will not give you band support. bands are hardware thing.
i deleted the 2 lines in the flash script file, can i choose "clean all and lock" ?
You can. But if you lock bootloader on non stock rom for your phone you will hard brick.
Why you want close bootloader

You can't relock bootloader with a rom from different region. If your device is Mi 9T Global, you will have to flash global firmware. Indian firmware will also change the device model from Mi 9T to Redmi K20 in phone settings.

Only for the Taiwan and Indonesia variants, but on the global variant, the ROM can be changed after unlocking bootloader.
I have installed Taiwan MIUI official ROM on my global variant of POCO M3, and I re-locked bootloader (by using the option "clean all and lock" in Mi Flash), now the phone has the MIUI dialer with automatic call recording, and it can still receive OTA updates for Taiwan ROM.

That sounds interesting, what about network frequencies, are they still the same?

Yes, I have compared the specs of POCO M3 on the websites of POCO Global and POCO Taiwan, they support the same network bands.

The POCO Taiwan website is in Chinese language, but Taiwan ROM still has all the languages that global ROM has, the language can be chosen during setup.
