Just installed a Joying JY-ULS01N2 in my Jeep. Loving it so far, even though it's only been in a day. I just got the steering wheel controls hooked up and was wondering if there's some way to map a steering wheel button to an app. Specifically, I'd love it if I could open Google voice search without having to use the touch screen.
I know there is not button map option for an app, but maybe someone has used Tasker or some other app to do this?
Related question re: the "Source" button mapping. This appears to only toggle through the Joying-installed source apps (radio, BT, phone, aux, video). Can these apps be changed? I'd love to be able to toggle through Spotify, SiriusXM, PowerAmp, etc., since those are my go-to media apps.
Welp, I just checked to see if there were any replies and instead saw this post directly below mine: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-units/joying-2gb-steering-wheel-key-t3543390. Think I'll give gustden's script a try and see what happens.
how to reprogram apps for "modes" on steering wheel button / dasaita 10.1 android
My steering wheel mode button is currently programmed to shuffle through the headunits stock apps "radio/video/music/avin/tv/etc"... through each click of the mode button in which all the apps are garbage when comes to navigating through files on an sd card / usb hd .
Anyone know how to reprogram / modify this so I can change my music player to poweramp and my video to mx player retaining the "mode" button function?
My buttons are programmed through "steering wheel learning" app if i am not mistakened.
thanks
anyone know what other forums might be able to answer this?
Did you ever figure his this out?
i would like to know this as wel,
i asked seicane, but that in't helpfull
they replied:
program them ?
Sorry , it can not change .
i guess we should contact the original creator of "steering wheel learning" in order to figure this one out
Has anyone managed to get the SWC keys working within the Wheelkey Study app on a BMW E39? If so, which Canbus settings did you use in the Factory Settings?
I have an 07/1999 E39, and I have recently installed a Dasaita PX6 head unit. I also have the Resler interface installed and use the iBus app to control the factory DSP amp. I am using the Canbus box that came with the head unit to decode the key presses on the canbus, however I get similar results when I use the iBus app to do the same job.
Firstly, The SWC keys do actually work with the default OS with a single press only, and only with the pre-defined functions. The issue that I am having is that no matter what I do I cannot get the key presses to show up in the Wheelkey Study app, and therefore I cannot reassign them, or assign functions to long presses etc.
I have since installed the Hal9k ROM, and it does have some basic ability to re-assign keys, and that works well, however the basic problem remains: The key presses do not appear when I use the Wheelkey Study app, and so I am not able to assign functions to long-presses etc.
No other app that I have used is able to recognise the keys at all. That includes mtce-utils and FCC launcher. Does anyone have any hints or suggestions please?
Many thanks
Did you ever manage to solve this? I have a E46 and want to change some keys and functions of it. But nothing happens in the SWC app also put the mode on CANBUS in the Car settings (Factory settings)..
Hello,
I am an Android app developer and have built a radio app designed for Android Head Units. The app works fine, but I don’t know how to map the built-in keys of the Joying Head Unit to my app. I implemented the standard onKeyUp method and handled the KEYCODE_MEDIA_NEXT, KEYCODE_MEDIA_FAST_FORWARD, etc. key events, but apparently they have to be somehow mapped to the same key events of the Head Unit.
I want the users to switch to the next/previous stations using the keys (attached to the) on their steering wheel. I assume that the mappings from the keys on the SW to the HU are working.
I have no experience with the head units and need help with this. Thanks in advance.
Welcome
I recently purchased android 10 auto head unit for my Toyota RAV4 2010
MCU : TS-G5.200630
The unit itself supports front and reverse camera ( 2 inputs )
of course Reverse camera comes up automatically after reverse gear
but in order to activate ( show on the screen ) front camera I need to go to unit press menu-then -F-Cam
very inconvenient ( not possible to add /change shortcut to home screen )
now my goal is to be able to activate F-cam by pressing assigned button on steering wheel
on the steering wheel control learning there is no option for F-cam only vol+ vol - pause etc , and its not possible to add custom button at least not from head unit operation.
There are 6 physical button on the radio but again there is no option to change their function ( there is no physical button learning )
How can I either add F-cam to steering wheel control learning
workaround for example assign F-cam to Mode ( physical button ) , :
then use Steering Wheel Control to assign Mode button to one pf the steering physical button
Perhaps need to modify key layout file ?
or need to play with file that is responsible for programming SWC ?
I am sure it is possible but I need help ,
Thanks a lot
no much help here I guess

Not sure if it support this sort of MCU since mine is based on TS -G5
in the GitHub there is only source code , not APK
