Viper4 Android FX processing "NO" error - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

I've recently rooted my phone with magisk and installed viper4 android fx. The statuses of the processes in the app are given below:
PROCESSING: NO
NEON ENABLED: YES
ENABLED: YES
STATUS: NORMAL
AUDIO FORMAT: SUPPORTED
SAMPLING RATE: 48000
I tried this guide on how to fix it for magisk users: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/v4a-fix-processing-using-magisk-t3572819
BUT. I cannot find the magisk directory anywhere on my phone. I have the root browser and I have no idea how to find the magisk directory so I can move the files.
So first, if anyone knows how to reveal the magisk directory, please let me know, and second, if there is somehow no way to do that, can you guys tell me of a way to enabel processing some other way?

whats the app for musicplaying you are using when it gives this?

Thanks for the reply. My main music playing app is eon player pro. Also, processing should be enabled for youtube too right?

What Viper version did you install? 2.7? Did you enable Master Limiter or Switch? Did you try Youtube or something else?
Try flashing Audio Modification Library from the magisk repo, it might help you (breaks it for some people. just uninstall if it still doesn't work)
Also if on 2.7 enable the Session 0 hook on the settings

I'll try the audio modification library as a last resort. But first of all, it's weird with Youtube. I checked with no video playing and processing was enabled but when I played any video, it was disabled. Yes I did enable the master switch( that first option in the speaker list).
I'll try the session 0 hook and get back to you tomorrow.

If anything, that will help you. You won't find the session 0 hook since you're using an old version of v4a

I used the session 0 toggle in the settings! It worked! Processing is now enabled for songs I play through eon player!
But one thing though, how do I enable processing for youtube? I'll try the audio modification thing if it youtube continues to say processing no.
Thanks man!

Alright. I installed the audio modification library. It did nothing. LIke, I still get processing yes when playing songs using eon player but I still get no for youtube both with that session 0 toggle enabled. Any other ideas?
It's not really a big deal at this point since I play most songs locally anyway; it would just be nice to have it on youtube too.

Youtube movies?

Is it possible to get Youtube movies working on the BA (running WM6), and if so, what player do I need?
The TCPMP player gives me a "RTSP protocol not supported" error when trying to look at a Youtube movie :/
hi there!
there is some kind of plugin/addon, which allows you to download youtube movies to your pda....
just search this forum or google for it, here is ONE source!
hope that helps....
regards,
krz
I have that tcpmp plugin, and it does work most of the time. I've run into some files on youtube that still give me an unknown media format error. Not sure why.
The Avot Media Viewer that someone posted about here a week or so ago works great though.
http://www.avotmedia.com/
http://m.avotmedia.com/
The Avot is OK but it needs much work to be more than OK.
I use the vTap.
http://veveo.net/
Use the search bar to browse uploaded videos from any embedded video website (like youtube, metacafe etc).
You can also have a feature of searching into wikipedia articles!
Very cool...
After doing a bit more digging, I installed Streaming Media v 2.10 build 518.700 (from High Tech Computer Corp.) on it.
It's working GREAT!
Download link and more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313961
hi everyone!
well, i installed the HTC STREAMING cab, which was included in xplode's cabs. i dont know, what version this actualy is...
anyway, i can playback youtube movies, but the performance sucks big time.... lots of stuttering, not enjoyable at all.... is it just me experiencing this problem?
is the BA oo slow to playback such vids?
or am i doing something wrong here?
thx in advance,
krz
you should check your internet connection too...
me again!
have to add, that i now have the FLASHVIDEOBUNDLE.cab installed, which not only gives me great streaming playback using TCMP Player (make sure u have installed the right version first!), but in addition to that gives me the oppotunity to save the flash videos to your storage right away....
VERY COOL CAB!!! KUDOS 4 THE (true) CREATORS!
btw: that STREAMING thing that came with xplode's cabs still doesnt work... (my internet connection is of course up and running!!)
cheers,krz
okay, after playing around a little bit and after installing/deinstalling/reinstalling HTC STREAMING Software, i am afraid i screwed up flv playback completely...
every time i try to load a youtube site, pocketIE crashes and my device freezes, leaving me with soft reset as only solution!
i tried to play back flvs on the youtube mobile site as well, with no sucess. nothing happens! the vids just dont load....
ARGH!!!!!
keeps crashing and crashing.... (pocketIE keeps loading, the suddenly freezes!)
when trying to play mobile youtube in pocketIE, nothing happens.... (just loads 0kb, then stops...)
can anyone load youtube.com without any problems?
can anyone play back youtube.com movies without problems?
HOW?
sorry for whining around here, but this really makes me go N U T Z

How to watch YouTube Videos!

Did you know that there is an easy way to stream youtube videos from PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer) using TCPMP? You just click the video and a menu pops up so you can choose if you want to watch or download the video, works just like on your pc.
Check it out here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/showpost.php?p=1319431&postcount=1
By the way, it is very important to download the FlashVideoBundle.CAB provided on the site. I used another version and it didnt start any videos, only timed out after a while. Then I downloaded FlashVideoBundle.CAB from site and it worked like a charm.
You would also need to install the FLV plug in for TCPMP if you dont already have it, you can download it from this site: http://tcpmp-plugin-for-flash-video.softonic.de/windowsmobile
Remember to use Internet Explorer, it will not work in Opera!
Good Luck!
I know this Youtube plugin for PIE with TCPMP 0.72 from Hermes.
Does play google video and others too.
Working great, if not working after some time Youtube changed something on their site and you'll have to install the updated plugin. Newest version is 1.44 by now.

Vtap picture resoultion is not as good. Also the selection of video is not as wide, I think. Is this what you have found out too?
vTap is probably better suitable for smaller devices with less power!

I have been spending the last hour or so testing out vTap and here is what I have found.
1. The Video quality is poor compared to the direct streaming solution with TCPMP.
2. I am unable to find any way to download videos, which I think is a great disadvantage!
3. Not all videos that shows up in the search query works!
However, vTap is defenetley a very fast and usable program. It performs very quick searches and the conversions are quick! I also like the wikipedia function.
I think however that this program is better suitable for devices with smaller screens and less cpu power, I will test and see how it performs on my "HTC Touch" before I can say that for sure tough, I will let you guys know as soon as I can!
But as far as viewing and downloading videos on my "Athena" goes I think I will stick to the first method that I mentioned!
Branko, I'm not sure why this keeps happening, but I would go a minute or two into the clip and it will just freeze. I saw this posted on another thread. So I came here, downloaded the version you linked to....yet the same thing. Is there a setting I need to change or something?
I have the two files in TCPMP, I dowload the latest version Flashbundlepackage, and I'm using IE to play the clip.
I will go to google full, select the first video just to test, and will pull up TCPMP but after a minute.....FREEZE.
thanks for the links though!!!
Try to download to device!

If the video starts without a problem and then freezes after a while then it cant be a problem with the codec, dont quote me on that tough.
What I would check if I was you is if the video freezes even if you download it to the device and play from there, if it doesnt freeze when playing from device it´s probably a slow connection or problem with youtubes site for the moment. (Happens alot!)
If it freezes even when you have downloaded it, I would try to reinstall the TCPMP and all the codecs!
Please tell me how it goes!!

Ok, so I have been playing with vTap on my little "HTC Touch" now for a few hours, and I can confirm that the program INDEED is better suitable for small screen devices with less CPU power!
Anyway thats my opinion, it´s for everyone to decide for them selfs what they want to use in the end!
So let´s hear it guys, what is your prefered method on Athena?
Thanks Branko,
After I reinstalled all of the codecs, it continued to freeze. So tried to adjust some of the settings, still to no avail. Then i noticed that I want to view it in "fullscreen". So I decided to to let it play with out "fullscreen". Behold, the problem was fixed.
Literally, if i keep it in the un-fullscreen mode (not sure what its called) it plays just fine. Its one of those things I wouldnt have figured out at all.
So there we go, atleast a fix on my end, is to watch all of the playable clips in the un-fullscreen mode and it will play just fine. I assume that if the file is small enough, I can download and play in fullscreen mode.
Thanks alot for your help Branko
You should be able to play in full screen mode too!

What do you use to play Youtube videos?
Is there any more programs or ways to play videos from "youtube" and other sites? Please share!
I have just voted and then read the thread - I am the only one who has voted for vTap!
I must admit, I am only an occasional user of youtube and love vTap's simplicity (and the wikipedia search) and for my usage it works fine, especially given the complexity of the alternatives.
Different people want different things - I want something simple (like me).
Good luck in finding your ideal solution!

Guys,
Technology for youtube on Athena has already moved on beyond recognition recently. I don't use TCPMP anymore.
You could use youtubeplayer from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385227
Youtubeplayer 1.0.7 lets you download and save the files.
Or Coreplayer, the latest version 1.2.4 lets you watch but not to save it yet. Of course, it can aso play flv files previously saved.
If you're not using realVGA or only using 192dpi, both the above user interface are very nice. If you're using 96dpi, then coreplayer's interface is the most beautiful.
If you want to do a little more indepth research to understand why coreplayer is one of the best way to go at the moment, read this "youtube bible":
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/cms/index.php?q=blogs/3/2599
Thanks
Works great guys, thanks for the work and information

Best settings Coreplayer on a Xperia?

There is no free Coreplayer unless it's cracked right? That would be illegal mate and make the mods come knocking on your door very quickly....
Just a hint....
To get back on-topic:
If you have coreplayer then you can play almost any avi, mp4, xvid file you might have. No need to encode movies, unless you want to shrink down the size and resolutions, otherwise... copy, paste and play
lol, nevermind

I benchmarked a few things and came up with these settings:
These speed up things a little, but not much. (+1fps):
Video:
- "QTv Display" is fastest for me
- "Smooth Zoom" : "Only for 50%" <--- screen resolution is high, you will not see a difference in quality.
Advanced:
- "Slow video memory" : Enable <--- Speedup!
- "Higher priority music playback" : Enable <---- Music plays even if you surf in Opera.
- "Disable AVC deblocking filter" <---- enormous speedup, but makes the quality of the video worse (blocking/artiiacts)
QTv Display:
- "TyTN II" driver mode: Enable <----- Speedup on X1
Other settings (no speedup, but are nice):
Player:
- Play music in background
- Single click fullscreen
Advanced:
- Register with SPB Menu system
Is your xperia a prototype? I've got a release one and CorePlayer seems to be able to use the Imageon chip (fast)
Coreplayer don't use the imagineon chip...

Hope for the 2.0 version...

hy, i found the solution, just change the "YouTube Format" in the network settings to "RTSP (medium)" and the integratet browser and player works like a charm but, now i have the next problem ^^ is it possible to stream any tv shows like giga etc? i always get error messages. i think the xperia has superior hardware but the software is just some piece of ****. at the moment i can stream nearly nothing ^^ is that a fault of the codecs or of the player itself?
Very strange - on my sex1 this player is SLOW AS HELL!!!
Only 10fps! Video 800x480x25 etc. according the Encoder's settings.
But Windows Media works normal at the same time............

Mortplayer http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&entry=mp_program&action=list
I highly recommend the cleanglass and darkglass skins http://www.sto-helit.de/downloads/pocketpc/mp-skins/
Thanks for suggesting mortplayer...
Settings are odd, but you get used to it after a bit.
I see that the display shuts off, and that the headset controls work, which is great!!!
However is there some sort of plugin that I need in order to change the playback speed?
I cant seem to find the setting.

Sorry, I misunderstood the "fast"request. The only other program that I'm aware of that will allow playback speed adjustment is Coreplayer, though it's not a feature that I would seek out myself. TCPMP was the beta/development tool for Core. Core has a much richer feature set compared to TCPMP. Core isn't free and in my way less than scientific study, it used about 2X the memory when playing audio files when compared to Mort. It's also a great all around video player with decent built in (no browser needed) youtube support.
Purchased Coreplayer V1.3.0 build 6213
Initially I had a heck of time with stability issues.
After at least 20 lockups, I found that everything became more stable if I just disabled anything that had to do with the internet / youtube / and the Library Functionality.
It is a bit of a hog.
....the Iconics are non-intuitive,
....in order to sort a playlist by filename you have to disable the library
But at least I can now do the (3) items I originally asked for.
Thanks for your help
qu1nn
I'm still using 1.2.1 and have no stability issues that I'm aware of. I'm going to upgrade later to see if I have similar issues. If Core was a little lighter on ram, I wouldn't bother with Mort at all.

You can actually enable the unattended play feature in WMP by changing the value of
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Media Player\Preferences\UnattendedPlayback
from (decimal) 0 to 1.
Now you just need a plugin to speed up playback so you can ditch CORE like I did (yes, they suckered me into paying for it too).
Hope that helped!

play any downloaded vr video or movie in daydream

If you want to play your own downloaded be videos or movies in daydream view simply download what you want to watch onto your phone turn off NFC in setting then launch the video file on your phone will start playing in the double lens format likes it's already in a vr then just simply pop your phone into the daydream there ya go now functionality is definitely lacking compared to what it will be once a dedicated vr viewer is released but it works

Launch video file. Err.. launch using the storage explorer which wants to use photos? How does it then go into VR mode?
Any particular app? E.g. does this work with Plex, if so how?

So this is a 3d video you downloaded? Any idea what the file format is?
If it's what ever is on the phone, it may only have had one option (photos) so launched it in that?
Unless you've installed other apps?
But, files generally need changing to make them 'fisheye' so that they play properly.
Since NFC isn't active, you should be able to launch the video without popping in the Daydream; then if you swipe up and view the list of apps it should tell you what the app the video is launched with. That might help me figure out what I need

Try vars vr viewer app if you can't get to play download then try to open with that
But the remote won't work will it? Sounds like you turned into Google cardboard..
Just found this app. It works with daydream and let's you watch any movie. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.fulldive.shell
I use VRTV Beta <paid version> to watch videos on Daydream.
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/se.chai.vrtv/join
You open Daydream.
Select VRTV from the list of apps.
Use it's folder browser to choose from your various videos.
It lets you choose between various options to view the video.
It's still in beta, past-due for an update.
But works okay.
Here is the Reddit support thread:

I actually used it last night at a bar to let various people watch VR 360 4K videos for the first time.
I'm actually trying to upload a bunch of 4K 360 VR videos right now to share on XDA but filedropper is uploading sloooooooowly.
Yup bought VRTV awhile back. It is currently the best supported video player for Daydream. Remote is supported!
