Using mobile data all day? What do you expect? It does drain the battery out quickly. You might want to delete the screen shot which contains the mobile numbers if you don't want people spamming you. Also the imei numbers.

at oreo battery much better than at pie 065, everything stock.

Yep, my battery life has been very poor. I'm getting a replacement for a different reason, but hoping that I can unlock and flash updated images and see if it helps at all.
yes. same here. using Chrome Beta
Same, I hoped they would have fixed the mobile active radio bug, but apparently not.
bumping this thread. seems like when i was web browsing on my commute this morning, chrome used more "energy" than my screen did
This is driving me slightly mad, because I am loving everything about the Nexus 6P but for this bug. Two days ago, Facebook was logged as using more battery than my screen. I uninstalled the app and switched to using it on Chrome. That day, Chrome used more battery than my screen. I disabled Chrome as well, and downloaded Dolphin yesterday. And now I have the same problem with Dolphin!
I think it's some form of the mobile radio active bug that destroyed my HTC One M8's battery life - the drain is noticeable mainly when I'm on mobile data, and my battery stats indicate that the apps in question are keeping my mobile radio active longer than necessary.
It frustrates me greatly because this doesn't seem to be a widespread problem - other people have been getting much better battery life without having to remove basic apps like Facebook and Chrome!! What did we do to trip it? Do we need to trade our sets in for new ones or is there something you all have done that has successfully fixed it?
Um.... this isnt unique to the Nexus 6P guys. Chrome is well known to chew battery on pretty much every phone out there. Blame google for bad coding. If its really a big problem, use Titanium to remove it and install Dolphin browser instead

I tried to fix the problem with Facebook and Chrome being battery drainers. I uninstalled FB and disabled Chrome, and switched to Dolphin. Same problem on Dolphin. Dolphin and Android OS now use more battery than my screen. I'm barely going to get 3h SOT on this charge.
There are users who are using Facebook and Chrome as per normal, and reporting SOT of over 5 hours. So there must be something up?
Disable regular chrome and install chrome dev.
Zero issues and have done it on my last three phones.

going to try this.
edit:
was anyone besides me using the data saver feature on Chrome? could that be draining the battery?

Battery drain on new 1+2

Hey guys,
Being a long time iOS user and wanted to try android again so I got a 1+2 yesterday. I charged it to 100% over night and I started using it today. In just 1 hour of usage (not the whole hour), the screen is hot and battery has drained around 23%. No games, just downloading music from Spotify and downloaded some apps from play store.
I am using stock rom and I have rooted the device. On iOS I never closed apps from the multi tasker so I was just wondering if that's nesscessary on an android device?
What version of OS you on? If its 3.5.6 then many users are complaining battery drain issue after this update

Yup it's 3.5.6
Should I downgrade?
It might get resolved in he next update, Nougat update is also in the works for 1+2 so battery drain issue will be ironed out

Android OS battery Drain Bug

For those of you who don't know what Android OS battery drain bug is, I'll explain
This bug is one of the most abominable bug you'll ever want to encounter. Many people complain of battery drain in Android N ROMs. If you open the battery thing, you'll find out that Android OS and occasionally System are consuming abnormal amounts of battery. First I suspected that its a ROM specific bug, later I discovered that it gradually keeps consuming more battery as you use the ROM. Its not limited to custom ROMs but stock roms too.
Take a look at the pic, taken from RR N. Had to immediately change the ROM due to this ghastly bug.
Please upload your opinions and mention any fixes. It'll help us all
@kpamkar
Never noticed the Android os drain you describe, but mostly I have the "cell standby" in top (or 2nd) in my battery history which also seems to be another battery drainer. I also noticed something is draining the battery faster since mm/nougat when phone is idling.
The issue was fixed when I tried extreme debloated 6.0.1 ROM from @minimale_ldz and think it's some kind of Google service screaming for a connection constantly (not sure).

I agree. I'm also using N and at this moment "cell standby" is nr.1 in my battery stats. I'm also reading stories about the same drain issues on the Nexus and pixel forums using N.
The issue mostly shows up in a few days

Yap!
I've been using for all today with using my Bluetooth headphones at work battery life seems very good still got 40% left after using it all day so seems decent. No problems here.
No negatives so far during my use. No crashes or bugs that I could find. Battery life the same.
When I installed the update, everything was great. Then I started having Bluetooth audio drops left and right every few minutes. Google Play Music showed that the song was still playing, but my receiver wasn't playing any audio. Just went back to 7.1.1 for now, unless someone has any idea on a quick fix..
I did a clean install of beta 2 and it appears to have fixed my BT turning off on its own with the latest 7.1.1. Seems pretty stable for me.
The Bluetooth issues were solved since beta 1 on 7.1.2.
Guys quick question. If I enroll my Pixel to this beta and install it. Then in the near future an update comes in, will the OTA's title make it easy for me to know if it is another beta or a public release?
Anyone have the OTA zip?

Maybe, I didn't run beta 1.
Were they able to include the gps fix with this release?
With this update my battery life rocks!
Google Play Services draws far less battery on my pixel.

Nope, it's fine here.
Check your apps, might be some app reducing your battery life and heating the device while running in the background.

System service drain

I was convinced on the forums that my system service drain was regular until I took a look at my buddy's phone , he has a le s3 with 2 sim cards and his system service doesn't normally go past 80 mAh on a full charge . Something has to be wrong
This is a screenshot of my sot when I first got the phone
8 hours of SOT is really good. You can try installing Wakelock Detector to get a different perspective. Also, anything that uses accessibility services may harm battery life. Another thing you can do is go to settings-permissions-autolaunch and disable autolaunching of apps that don't need to be running all the time. You can see what apps are currently running in settings - app management. One last thing is that your signal strength isn't that great, so it may just be how it's supposed to be.

I'm in the same boat as you, only I'm running OmniRom. But yeah, had 8h sot, can barely make 6 now, android system is my second biggest drain, with 2+ hours of cpu usage.
I have tried and I have found that 7.1 to 8.1 do not have the best battery life.
I personally have been aopk 6.01 and been getting great battery life.
I did do a stress test I did gaming and blasting next radio 21 minutes use only 6% of battery.

I've tried everything , disabled all apps in auto launch , tried it with airplane mode on , enabled background resource control . Never go past 7 hours max screen on time . My screen brightness is usually very low throughout the day
What are all of these services ? My buddy has none of these
You are running stock I take it.
Different ROMs are going different services like you show.

Turned on battery assistance at about 80% , battery life drastically improved
This is now ridiculous
All eui is in the rom.
I have no problem with custom roms. (Omni,Aicp,Lineageos etc.)

I don't see the big deal you have 3 hours 57 minutes on screen time and 50% battery left you will get almost 8 hour screen time on that is well above average!

Went through a hard 12 hour process , finally unlocked bootloader , installed twrp and running lineage . Going to be testing battery life
I have the same problem with Eui rom. As long as the display is turned on, the system service will exploit the battery. Nobody knows that?
There are no such problems in custom roms.(Aicp, omni vs )

Flash Magisk and try Greenify4Magisk. It's gotta be some third-party app you're running, or you have a bad cellular connection. Are you getting full signal on your phone? Do you have LTE running as well?

I haven't installed many apps , just the basics like Snapchat WhatsApp Twitter and Instagram . I tried to flash magisk but that would mean uninstalling super su . I normally get around 3-4 bars but I don't use cellular data . I have Greenify but it doesn't seem to be doing much
