I have S8+ and its currently on android 7.0. Everytime I try to update it, it says you are on the lastest version already. Any way I can get it updated (officially).
Thanks in advance.
See screenshots for more.
Try going into 'apps' and then 'Google Play Services'. Clear the cache, and then force it to stop. Try to update after doing this; I never tried this method, but I heard it works. Some had to do this a few times before it would update.

Hello, so as the title says i cant update applications. Each time there is an update, i must first uninstall the old one, then install new one, otherwise it wont work and say "application not installed". I know its a problem i can live with, but still would be nice to just update and not go trough all uninstall/install routine each time. Im on cyanogen mod 7, tried reflashing rom, same thing. Hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance guys.
Did you try to clear the cache/data or backup your rom and stuffs and wipe.. this may help
Purchased an open box Galaxy Tab 10.1 today for $238. Brought it home and instantly ran into trouble once the Market updated. Google Play locks up every time now. Cleared Market cache and no go. Google Play still locks up.
I see that ICS should be pushed out. OTA updates don't seem to be hitting my tab yet. I've tried several times.Opened Kies and sure enough it can't find my firmware version. Go figure. My next attempt was download mode and try to do a firmware upgrade via Kies. It gets to the part where it is downloading the firmware and ready for the install and then I get a pop up box in a different language. Needless to say I see nothing else and I guess it fails. Some luck.
Does anyone know of an ODIN with a STOCK ICS ROM that is up to date or know of a way to fix my issue?

There might be something wrong with your device and that might explained the reduced price and the open box. You might want to consider installing the latest recovery version from droidbasement and reset your device. Here is an excellent guide: hx*ps://docs.google.com/document/d/1luCfYEjOIH9K4WR8KsCMMFjZ9pXnes7Az41qMgOkrv0/edit (there are many way to install clockworkmod recovery, but this tutorial will help if you brick the device)

All Google apps? Does the play store work?
Play may have got stuck on an update. Try clearing cache and data for both services and store (or try one before the other perhaps - can't recall which one usually fixes it) then uninstall. It should just roll you back to the version that shipped with the phone. Reboot if necessary. Then try to launch play store and update your apps. It should update to the latest version without a problem and solve any issue you may have.
If that fails, I guess you can try sideloading the latest version from APKmirror.
Hey guys! So I recently got the option to update to android pie, now since I have the phone for 1.5 years unrooted and it started to be a little slow i decided to factory reset it before updating, now after actually doing the reset it does not show the update anymore and keeps showing me the phone software is up to date, any suggestions? thanks!
Images attached.
Strange, I've never seen anything like it, but you can flash rom using odin.
Any ideas guys? Im still not getting any updates!

Assume you've tried to manually check for updates right?
If that does not work go to your apps, turn on show system apps, now find them "Google services framework" app and clear data, then immediately reboot.

What do you mean manually? Ive checked in the software updates many times since then, tried wiping cache, and google services framework data, tried checking with smart switch. Nothing.

By manually I just meant tapping the update manually button.
Can you use the emergency recovery option in SmartSwitch? Maybe it will reflash current or part of rom or at least reset a system version flag (that maybe factory reset doesn't). I guessing here, never had to use it, but if it was me I'd give it a try.
Only other ways I know would be to flash with Odin, or via recovery or use ADB (obviously make sure you have the correct file for your phone region, provider etc research if you are not familiar with doing this)
Almost every day I need to clear cache and data in the play store app in order to get apps and updates to download. Sometimes, such as now, even multiple clears of data does not fix the issue.
Can someone please recommend some kind of a fix or workaround? It's incredibly frustrating. I am on 9.0.12 rooted.
Have you tried updating to latest play store from apkmirror? Might solve the issue.

I guess I haven't tried that. It's been going on for quite a long time. I did manually update Google Play Services though. I will try the Play Store.
No luck installing Another play store either.
After restarting the phone the apps needing update started installing. Didn't clear data this time. Very strange.
I just noticed I was having this issue today. I turned off WiFi and the updates started. I'm trying to figure out why.
Edit: It seems to have resolved itself without me doing anything.
This issue is still going on, even after the Play Store updated to the newest version. I have tried everything at this point. Next step is to set the phone on fire I guess.
I have the exact same issue.
Check your Installed tab. I bet there is an app pending for download but not showing under Update tab. Stop it by clicking the cross icon beside it. All apps under Update tab will start downloading and installing.

I'm having the same issue. I did a clean install, and I was able to install all apps without issue.
A few hours later, couldn't download new apps. They would be stuck on "downloading".
If I reboot, one app will install, but all others won't. I have to reboot again, and another will download.
Have tried all the usual tricks (play store /services cache and data, download manager), but nothing seems to work.
I'm on 9.0.14. it happens with stock or custom kernels, over 4g or wifi.
EDIT: sometimes an app will start to download and get stuck at x KB or MB. Again only a reboot will solve it.
It happens to me not when I flash the international rom but when I root any firmware. I have the T-Mobile version and it works very fast but after I root it I get the pending when downloading anything from the play store.
