Hi,
Is there a way to remove the lock pattern from the G6 model without the hard reset? Phone is not rooted, debugging is turned off and I really dont want to wipe out all my data.
Is there any solution?
Use free version of LG Z3x. You can find it on YT.
Sh*t, I didn't notice how old this thread is.

Hey guys,
so im having some problems with my phone, for some reason every time it comes off the charger, the phone will not ring when i get calls even though it is NOT on silent mode and none of the settings have been changed...
so... gonna need to try a factory reset, but i want to keep all my apps to reinstall, how do i do this efficiently and effectively?
also i bought an unlock code and unlocked my phone... does a factory reset do anything to the unlock?
thanks!
for back up of apps and settings there's MyBackup pro.
can't help on whether resetting will retain unlock or not.

Hi all,
I have encrypted my device and using PATTERN as the security. I do restart device once in a week and it asks encryption pattern to start Android. Today when i restarted, it asked me PASSWORD instead of PATTERN. I tried Google password here but it does not work. I dont understand y its asking for PASSWORD when i have selected PATTERN.
I cannot start my device now. I cannot afford to factory reset as the data is imp to me
Please help/advice/guide.

Guys, Do not encrypt your phone. Motorola dont have any resolution for this problem.
Infact their Engineer told there is no such option which enables pattern/password at the boot up (Can u believe it?). They have such ppl on their support.
My only options are:
1. Delete all data
2. Install custom recovery to access encrypted data. But i believe that will void my warranty.
If anybody has any other solution, please advise.
Solved it
Guys i have solved the issue
Saved my data too. no need for custom recovery.

no bro my problem is bit different, my niece locked the phone with pincode only which she forgot, now phone is locked for many days, though internet is on but usb debugging disabled, i cant find any way to unlock my phone except to factory reset :[
if you have any solution then do inform.
Trying to help out a family member. She setup a pattern on her phone and forgot it....
Google search returns "dr.fone" but when installed it only shows options till GS3 IIRC
Samsung find my mobile doesn't help as location is off
She has no backup and doesn't sync with Google Photos.
Any idea how to remove the pattern and retain the data?
if you set pattern only to unlock the phone then there is no chance you forget pattern i am using finger, pattern & iris to unlock my S8+ there is no way to unlock your phone without correct pattern factory reset is only option to unlock if FRP ia not On

i've read that there is a way to sideload other firmware, like in videos such as below (xda wont let me post video because i'm new), but search for "ALL SAMSUNG WITHOUT DATA LOST Remove Pin,Pattern,Password In FRP ON,OEM Mode Part 2 to Part 18"
anyone know how to do this for s8+ ?
I set a pattern and don't remember it, battery died so I couldn't use my fingerprint. phone is NOT attached to samsung account, so I am really in a bind here because I need to access it withOUT wiping
Please help
Hello, on my Galaxy, the encryption function is gone and i was told it's because i rooted the device. Other function aren't working and few troubles comes in. I need to know if this is the same with the LG G6. Let me know, thanks
You can root LG G6 without losing any function, you van even keep encryption (although there are some problems with the recovery)
I'm not sure if you may not be able to see DRM protected content, as I've never used it
Actually, i said wrong : it's not that encryption is gone, it's here. What's gone is the option to have your pattern/pin asked during boot. That's a security i can't live without. So after rooting, is this option still available on the G6 stock rom (wether it's nougat, oreo..)?

On G6 if you set a pattern, you need it to unlock the phone after booting, always. Also, there is another extra option (see image)
I would say that the option is still here on unencrypted phones, but I can't confirm 100% since I have the phone encrypted. (on nougat)
Hi,
I tried to change the pattern of my device, it seems that I didn't set what I thought and now that I restarted my system, the device (Android 7) is asking my for a pattern to let me turn it on, that I don't know.
Of course I'm the owner from this device, with my Google account and everything but I made a misstake and I don't know how to fix it.
What are my options now?, Should I restart the device with recovery options, wiping data user and that or what do I need to do?
Regards in advance.
Do you by any chance have TWRP installed? If so, there are certain files you can delete to remove the pattern.
Try it enough times and it should offer to unlock another way, then use your Google account.
And don't use pattern unlock... PIN an fingerprint are fine.
