I have this PX5 with this odd MCU and I am struggling to identify it.
I managed to root it via adb WiFi method, but I can’t reboot it to recovery mode.
- Is it MTCD/E?
- Is it FYT?
- Is it Witson?
- Is it roadnav/winca?
- Can it be flashed?

Thank you! I really appreciate it, will try is as soon as I gather the courage (just bought it, afraid I will lose warranty). From your username I assume you are in Brazil too, right? Is your unit sold as Winca S200+? Does the Music app have to re-scan all your music library every time the unit starts? Mine does that even when I have Sleep Mode (fast boot) on. It's driving me crazy.
Hi, yes, I am Brazilian. Mine was sold as “Aikon xdroid”. I use poweramp for music, and it does scan my music library everytime, but I store all my mp3 on a sdcard.
The major problems I have with this unit are the time settings (it is always one hour late) and its WiFi ( I often have to turn it on and then off to work properly).

Oh, I see. Good to know it's all the same device; I was thinking of maybe trading it for an Aikon.
I would love to use Poweramp, but on my unit the physical button for skipping tracks works only on the factory Music app. On my old S160 the button would work with PowerAmp, Spotify and any other music app.
The physical buttons work great on Poweramp 2 build 588.
They won’t work on poweramp 3 only.

It does! Thank you.
Have you rooted your unit? I don't know what to do once I've rooted it. I've saw there's this thing called Joying. Will it work on this device? Will I be able to customize the physical buttons (on the old S160 I had the AUX button programmed to open the Music app, for instance).
I'm sorry for all the questions, total newbie here.
I’ve rooted the device, yes. I’ve installed SU, total commander root acces and that’s all. I want to flash a custom rom (Hal9k), but I couldn’t because I can’t access custom recovery mode.
There is a built in app which helps reassign the physical buttons, but only for basic functions (play, pause etc). There are some apps for mtcd head units that should work on our device, but I haven’t tried them.
Joying is a brand of similar, yet different, px5 head unit. The app Joying tools was only good to help me enable ADB over WiFi.
I'm afraid that's too advanced for me right now. And I just noticed PowerAmp keeps on playing after I turn the ignition off. Does yours behave in the same way?
Poweramp plays for 10 seconds more after I turn the ignition off.
If that's all, I can deal with it. I'm using Car Launcher, and it's beautifully integrated with PowerAmp. My next step is trying Nova.
Agama? Yes, it’s the best in my opinion too.
The one I'm using right now? No, it's called Car Launcher. (I think it's the old Carmod Launcher). To be perfect it only needed integration with the default music app.
Give agama car launcher a try
I liked it, but for some reason it doesn't work when I set it as default home screen. Pressing the home icon or SRC button does nothing.
What I really wanted was a launcher that incorporated the default music app.

About this: I turned the ignition off and came back after 3 minutes. PowerAmp was playing all the time, meaning: the song was 3 minutes forward. No good, then.

About this: the developer says HAL9K is only for MTCD/E MCUs. Ours is this ZHAN thing. Won't it brick it?

I used to have this problem, here is the solution: set it as the default launcher, then reboot (hold power for 30 seconds). Now agama will work correctly as your default launcher. Also, it works with the built in music app.

It’s not that the song keeps on playing; the problem is that it forwards the song a little bit.

It’s about the same hardware, but with a different software. MTCDs are Rockchip px5, just like ours. They have a different rom and bootloader, and different MCU. Everything else is pretty much the same.
I will try and make the launcher work with the music app, thanks for the tip. But I beg to differ about this part:
It’s not that the song keeps on playing; the problem is that it forwards the song a little bit.
I've done a series of tests. Suppose was listening to a 5-minute song, and would turned the ignition off. If I turn it back on in 30 seconds, the song will be on the 30th second. 1 minute, it will be at 1:00. 90 seconds, it will be at 1:30. It happened with S160 and seems to be happening with this one too. The solution, for what I've seen around, is to use Tasker somehow. I guess I will have to learn to use Tasker.

Ive had this unit for about 2 months now. Purchased it from the US seller on amazon. It shipped within 24hrs from NY. Arrived in Florida in about 4 days.
It arrived in the typical plain white box, no thumbdrive with this one, no sd card. Not a big deal as i have plenty of both. Well packaged and un damaged.
The vehicle i installed it into is a 2016 Mustang GT, base model with the 4" screen and abomination that Ford likes to call "sync".
Without getting into why, I wanted a head unit that would have navigation and run apps without all of the nanny controls you find on the more common units, and did NOT retain ford sync. If anyone has ever been on a mustang forum, you will see half the threads are complaints about the factory sync, or people testing out various Chinese replacements for the base system. None of these options interested me as i would be still stuck with sync. So i discovered these types of android head units first on ebay, then some research on youtube lead me to the "Joying" brand. Some pretty favorable reviews here so i decided to take the plunge on this unit: h t t p s :// w w w .carjoying.com/android-5-1-car-stereo/android-5-1-car-stereo-2din/newest-joying-2016-automotive-lollipop-android-5-1-1-universal-7-inch-car-head-unit-double-2-din-autoradio-gps-navigation-system-quad-core-hd-1024-600-radio-stereo-audio-16gb-support-revers.h t m l
I figured it was more money than the typical china mustang screen upgrades, but less money than i would spend on an alpine or pioneer that still would not do what i wanted.
Contrary to what most people told me, there was plenty of room behind the dash, as long as you use a bezel from a premium model. I was able to complete the install to this point without cutting ONE SINGLE WIRE thanks to a member on mustang6g forum who made me a custom harness. In fact, Joying didnt even want to sell me the unit as they said it would not fit, despite my sending them pictures showing it would. It was as if the world wants you to suffer with a garbage radio if you own a 16 mustang lol.
So far this uint has performed nearly flawlessly. It has never frozen on me, or even slowed down on me for that matter. I am able to run pandora, spotify-yes spotify! waze, google maps and navigation, chrome, even netflix. I was rather surprised just how well all the apps run on it as ive read threads on here where people have had issues with some of these apps, but it runs just as fast or faster than my galaxy s5. The only thing ive seen happen is if you try to run apps as its still booting up it will bog down.
The sound quality of the built in speaker level amp is very good. much better than stock. I have not tried using the pre-amp outputs yet or the sub output. The factory equalizer does its thing, has a fader but not a spacializer. It appears to be able to use the steering wheel controls but i have not tried to tackle that yet. Also, there is an area where it appears you can read the vehicle can bus, but i have no idea how to connect that as there is almost nothing on the market for the 15-16 mustang yet.
Here is a bad video i made of it lol: h t t p s :// youtu.be/VDxKmkw_as8
If anyone on this forum can point me in the right direction as far as steering wheel controls or can bus connection I would really appreciate it, and of course ill try my best to answer any questions about my experiences with this unit.
Also, i thought i saw there is a contact for JoyingUSA on this forum? Maybe he could offer some guidance.
Thanks
Nick

Glad to see a good review
Interesting to read the unit works fine for you. I got the equivalent for Volkswagen (EU-JY-VQ125) and got some issues:
The radio app often forgets station names, but at least it refreshes them later during operation.
The radio reception and sound quality is quite bad (with dual aerial + amplifier built in car) compared to OEM.
The "Media" (Music) app has problems with MP3 tracks (on SD card): often it takes a lot of fiddling to get the tracks list (it takes a lot of time after inserting the SD card, occassionally no storage type (internal, SD) is listed at all), often the tracks cannot be changed by tapping on the new directory in the tracks list - the GUI returns to the main app screen, but the original tracks continue to play and the new selection is completely ignored). It is pretty dangerous to operate the HU while driving...
The "Media" button cannot be assigned to a different Music app and even if it can be, the other apps do not work well with the system (e.g. you easily get both Radio and MP3 playback simultaneously).
A note on the 3rd party app Waze: The GUI has always been bad for landscape mode, but since the version 4, Google really screwed it. In navigation mode, the half top of the screen is used by driving directions and notifications and as a result, it is unusable for navigation because there is not enough map shown in front of the car symbol.

Hey CM, I just bought a Joying in 5.1.1 and of course mining all I can before the install. I was wondering if you have already put one of these in your Caddy? I have a CTS w/o amp or at least I don't think it has an amp since its not a Bose system. Hudson has a vid on YouTube showing cutting into the middle plug on the DIC unit with RCA plugs......... how would that work w/o an amp? Also I'm reading these units are a tad bigger than American uints.... how much I tad?
By the way, I'm just across the river from you....

no sorry, I'm actually no longer a Cadillac man, I traded it in on the Jeep Wrangler I have. I previously had a 2011 CTS, with the pop up Nav screen, and I dont know how you'd get one of these to work in it.

Here is the answer concerning SWC: http://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...in-factory-steering-wheel-audio-controls.html
Good morning, forum.
I bought a Quad Core Android Head unit for my Lancer a couple of months ago in Aliexpress and I just love it. However there are a couple of things I would change or I would like to understand better.
First of. I did see there are some subforums for this topic but I'm not really sure on what kind of unit (technically speaking) this is, so I apologize if this is not the correct sub-forum.
Pretty much what I have problems with, is the following:
Whenever I turn on my car, the radio app pops up by default, and that's cool, but what I don't like is that it goes to a random frequency I have nothing stored on and it's pure noise until I change it to a stored station, and I would like it to open up a stored station by default.
Another thing is that I move the EQ but whenever I turn car off and back on, the EQ settings do not remain where I left them, they're not being saved. Saved stations remain in their pressets, wallpapers in the head unit remain, but the EQ settings reset themselves.
I would like to know there's a way to "default" the radio station or preset for whenever the radio app runs and to "default" settings in the EQ or have it saved, or if there's any other radio app I can use with my head unit.
This is it:

Hi, I'm using Lancer as well, and bought the same android like urs, just that mine is v4.4.2 (kitkat), urs is v5 (Lollipop). So to answer your question.
1. Same like mine, but eventually the EQ setting will stick after a few times of resetting everytime my car starts
2. The radio is a bit troublesome, the steering control, instead of changing to the next preset channel, it scans the next frequency, so I just downloaded another radio alternative, which is much better to customize, and also it will pop up the Radio Channel/Frequency if ur on a different screen.
Hey, thanks a lot for the answer!
What radio app didn't you download? I would like to give it a try.
Thanks in advance!

You can try using this 3rd party radio app

Or try to flash it to IQNavi, it's way much cooler and nicer.

So i just bought this Seicane unit and been trying out different music players but most of them lose the playlists and songs from usb stick connected to my unit
The only one that keeps up when turning car on and off is POWER AMP and it takes a couple of seconds to get the library back and for playback but its a little ugly when using in these units. I really liked Jetaudio but it doesnt work after turning off car so even after Rebuilding library it justs doesnt work like i wanted to
What other apps you recommend that could keep my library when turning on and off my car?
Would it be easier if i use a micro sd instead? would that keep library available for all those apps at all times?
thanks!

Perhaps instead of looking for other players.....the best thing to do is avoid killing your current player when unit goes to sleep.
There is a xposed module from graser (dasaita xposed) in which you can include apps or services that you don't want to be killed on sleep.
Check it on the px5 repository thread (on the post for mods)
Obviously you have to be rooted and xposed framework installed

Hello Everyone
First Id like to thank everyone who posts here - as it has helped me decide what HU to buy based on various feedbacks/modifications possible/etc..
I recently bought a Joying UMS01N2 unit - 7" single din unit with 2GB RAM running 6.0... I just took it out of the box and have got it running for the first time... nothing modified, nothing added - just a new factory unit for now...
I would like your advise on what mods to do / apps to use / launchers to use - with the caveat that I can follow instructions really well, but am not familiar with android settings/mods/hacks/etc...
My goal is to have: Google Maps, FM, Reverse Camera, Music (off SD card/USB), Torque, Phone/BT - don't really need anything else for now
I live in Dubai where temps are usually 30 in winter and 45 in summer - so I would assume a heatsink mod is beneficial
So my questions:
Should I root?
What is the best way to remove bloatware apps Joying supplies and only have the above required apps working?
I really like the Car Launcher AG - is it supported on this unit?
I will be running RCA audio out to an external amp which will feed the speakers... so any audio mods necessary?
Thank you in advance!
I'm in favor of Nova Launcher, it's like the old CyanogenMod launcher but much more customizable. I've bought the pro version, which unlocks extra settings. I'd suggest you experiment with it in your phone or tablet first, then put on the radio second.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...s/joying-extra-tools-apk-apk-to-help-t3628200 Look into the Joying Extra Tools here, so you can get going with root.
After root access, you should install FDroid ( https://f-droid.org/ ) and next AdAway. Run AdAway & then reboot.
If you really want to streamline some apps after install, get going with BusyBox & LuckyPatcher.
I'd then suggest some other apps for music and audiobooks. PlayerPro is nice, MortPlayer is good as well. Offline Maps & Navigation is a must.
Thank You!
So I rooted the unit... updated the SU/Busybox and installed Viper4Android...
Few small issues: I was trying out the monitor temp app, and I cannot read the entire page - the bottom is cut off and there is no scroll bar... any advise for this?
Also, I have the unit in my room with AC on - ambient temp is 26C... unit at startup (within 2 min of startup) was at 50C, and went up to 70C in about 10 min... I have not done any heat sink mods, and during these 10 min I did nothing - no radio, no music, no apps used, etc.. just watched the temps... is that normal?

Which monitor temp app? The one integrated in my JET app which I assume you used for installing su, busybox and v4a?
Do you have a 1024*600 resolution? I assume your UMS01N2 unit has based on the carjoying site
Did you change the DPI?
If you do mean another temp app, then please specify.
Car Launcher AG works just fine on mine Joying JY-VM130N2D.
Hi guys I'm new on here, i do apologise if i have posted on the wrong area , i have a Chinese 10.1 inch android SPRD head unit with android 10 installed. I have fallen out with the guy i bought it off as there was a lot of miss advertisements on advert which did not match when i got the unit.
However thats another story and wont get into it, what i want to know and if anyone can help me i will really appreciate it as iv tried everything and getting no where. So here are my problems :-
1, Upgrading android 10 to android 11.. there seems to be no menu that has the upgrade option, so how can i upgrade to android 11 or twelve? And How do i upgrade mcu version?
2, im having problems with GPS when car is on i loose gps signal to like half of one bar.. when car/ignition is turned off GPS comes alive and get good signal and catches satellites.. what does this happen? Whats the solution?
3, i cant change the icons on home screen, cant change/add on tool bar, no bluetooth button to turn on and off on bar on top of screen.. but blue tooth is there works fine when connecting phone and bluetooth icon shows on top bar when connected..
4, the android version seems very limited on this unit, even in developer settings there dont seem to be many adjustments options to turn on or off.. i have a meter display shows cars rom gauge and speedometer its all im KM and there is no options anywhere to change this..
5, system does not shut down when car ignition goes off, i have to manually shut it down, even tho in settings its set to shut down when acc off! Any suggestions?
I have attached pictures of GPS ignition off and one of ignition on.. also all the build software info pictures too..
Any help would be appreciated
You have an UIS7862-based FYT unit. Pretty common and there's a dedicated thread with plenty of info. Now, for your questions:
1. There is no (real) Android 11 or 12 for these units.
2. Change the location of the GPS antenna. Radio works OK when car is on?
3+4. Get a different launcher and/or custom ROM. Launchers here
5. did you change that in factory settings? If you did then you probably have an error in wiring.
Also, this post should be moved to the FYT Android Head Units area

Hi firstly thank you so much for your response and information.
1. mine has android 10 loaded.. but have seen others with android 11 and layout set up different to mine. Mine was supposed to be 11 setup but in a nutshell wasnt sold what was advertised. :/ so i would like to load android 11 on at least, i assume there is a way to do this?
2, i have changed location tried behind dash tried on top of dash tried even dangling it out the pan roof but same problem when ignition off gps signal goes up, soon as ignition on or car started signal drops to 1 satellite. Yes everything else works fine just gps problem.
3-4 i will have a look at what you have sent.
5, yes there is two options one for putting unit to sleep and other to turn off unit when ACC is off.. but it doesn't turn it off i have to manually turn it off
Any more help advice would be great thank you.. ps i will put this post on where you have said.
Thanks again
