Surely reading the feature lists for the available ROMs would have answered this question for you.
Yes, check out the rom deveopers op features list...
In an attempt to post something useful to this thread i did end up finding a rom.

Thanks for this thread. This is exactly what I've been wondering too. I am on CM based RR ROM and even though the idea of using nougat is quite appealing I'm not sure how much it's worth the whole hassle, specially given I'm too used to RR's huge set of features.
I'll check back to see if someone's answered, and surely post back if I've struck luck with a custom nougat ROM, though I have a feeling it might take some time before a custom athene ROM such as CM or CM based rolls out, and prolly it's worth the wait if I don't have to go back to stock ROM for just a few odd extra features which have largely been ported through mods/apps and implemented in custom ROMs already.

Agreed.
It will take a while for people to start working on Nougat based ROMs. From what I understand, devs are still perfecting the CM bases MM ROMs, which requires a lot of time and effort.
I don't see any Nougat ROM anytime soon, at least not as a stable daily driver. I'm sure our devs are equally thrilled but let's wait it out a little!

There is CM14 on AFH And it's uploaded by @regalstreak ...!!
Don't know anything how it works or why he haven 't shared on XDA...

What is the future of OP3T concerning roms? I know One Plus will not provide support after the O update, so well have to get our taste from custom roms. Why are there so many resurrection ROMs? Does anyone still use all those features anyhow? I can't tell you the last time i heavily modified my rom. I typically stay on PA, FreedomOS, or stock rooted.
Does anyone know where I can find some AOSP kernels?

no one said O is end of the line for 3/3T, it's the end of beta, they cant keep 2 beta's
that's said, even if that's true, there will be plenty of O custom roms, and probably P when it's released...
AOSP kernel, hmm, ther was one i don't remember it's name i'm not sure if it's still maintained, look for it on the cross devices section, it was the kernel for the OSIP rom.

Personally I think it's crap that this phone won't get any software updates after Oreo. Phone should have shipped with 7.0 out the box. This will definitely be my last OnePlus

There will be no Android P without the source code which One Plus won't release because theyre stopping after Oreo. Oreo based Roms will be the final Android version.

I'm sure there will be custom roms after Oreo (not OOS based tho ofc), same as Oneplus 2 have nougat as custom roms.

Actually I don't know how that goes, since I know nothing about developing ROMs, but since there is new OS versions for devices which didn't get them officially, there must be some way. Some functions propably not gonna work similarly, depends on device tho (Samsung Note 4 example.. custom ROMs were missing all "S pen" -stuff and camera quality was horrible. All camera framework stuff were binded to Touchwiz itself), but atleast our Oneplus 3T is quite simple device and camera is so far working "good enough" even on custom ROMs.

The source code used for custom roms is based on aosp(google)not on the one released by oneplus. Basically the one on pixel and nexus devices and mixed up with oneplus drivers( blobs actually)..
So no. Custom roms will continue till developers stop making builds.years after oneplus droping support
This phone is good for the next year at least. People will still have it since it's like the budget pixel

even OPO has 7.1.2 custom roms, why you need to worry ?

Not really. The code oneplus release, the blobs and the devices trees can help to improve custom ROMs, but custom ROMs won't disapear if we doesn't have the source.
Just look at the Xperia SP for example. Official android version, 4.3. Android version thanks to custom ROMs, Oreo.
The code the manufacturer release is highly important at launch, to have a base to work on to port a custom ROM. On android P developers will take the android O tree and start to update it to support the code changes of P, without the need of OP.

After having over 40 flagship phones and an XL since the Droid 1 it's worth it. I won't waste the time to go into all of the reasons though. I was being a little modest when I said 40

If there are any custom Oreo ROMs for our T-810, they are a very well kept secret.
the lead developer @T_I had some life stuff come up, and hasn't had a chance to look at bringing up the 810 to Oreo yet. Wish I knew enough to figure out how to help out with it.

anks, thank you for the information.
It just baffled me as to why there were no O roms at all.
I have 8.1 running on a Nexus 7 2013 and a Nexus 6 and those devices are ancient.

Indeed, I'm battling with a concussion, very limiting my screen time. Also, to be honest, @RaymanFX is the lead developer for the 2015 Tab S2 models, I just managed to adapt his code for the T810 (not to difficult) and the T710/5 (bigger challenge, still needs a lot of work).
My prio at this point is to get the T710/5 functioning before putting time in, unless RaymanFX wants to start work on Oreo for the T815, then I can test the other devices. (alas, no real work for a while, just barely managing to get 4h of work in a day)

hi, not to open a new thread:
but official there is also Nougat 7.1 for the S2 2015 version.
Can i flash this and root it per superSu?
Is there any custom kernal avialble?
or better an "original" Rom just moded?
thanks for answers in advance
adddy2
The answer is quite easy.
CustomROMs would be easier to create if there'd be an official Oreo ROM from Samsung. The SM-T810 is still on Nougat (I got a "new" update a couple of days ago, which only "updated" the security patch level...).
Since Samsung released the S3 Tablet, there won't be any effort spend into developing an official Oreo Rom in this "older" Tablet, imo. The SM-T810 has an Exynos 5433 CPU (and not a Qualcomm), which means we're facing closed-source and therefore smooth and fully working CustomROMs won't be very likely.
The question is: Why do you want a custom ROM at all?
The stock Nougat ROM can be debloated (e. g. via Neked Maker), rooted, Xposed can be installed.
All is working fine, and you can customize it very much.
What feature are you looking for in a custom ROM which isn't possible with stock ROM??

There's no stock Oreo rom. For me, it's not that I want a custom rom, it's more that I want an Oreo rom.
Actually possessor of a T715 Tab S2. I saw someone managed to build an Oreo rom for T710, if the rom will come also for the sim variant it will be really great! We have to forget about samsung spending time for "old" devices....Instead thanks all the developers teying to get the best out of this tab and updating it.
P.s give me a working fingerprint and i'll give you mi life lol

I'll build daily for all 4 Oreo variants when the code is mature enough to boot :good:
Hi. I'm really disappointed in this device's custom rom development. I thought that with easy bootloader unlock and kernel sources and overall popularity we would have a large selection of custom roms.
Any thoughts?
There's a fair amount of development going on for the 8/8Pro. Things have gotten a little quiet now that A11 has been released, but slowly the Roms/ Kernels are being released.
If you are that disappointed you have options. You can either start developing your own work, you can sell the device and move on to something else that has more developer support, or you can be patient and wait for things to pick back up.
My thoughts... your post is pointless, there's been others like this in the forums that are just as pointless.
Great answer, that was just the push I needed to start developing my own rom. Just wait for it.
Never felt limited development with the OnePlus 8 Pro! Btw it has an excellent stock oos!
Honestly, the OOS stock, plus root, plus elementary kernel, you will never miss a custom ROM (although it is already a customization).
The gain in performance and battery life will make you forget about it. Give it a try.
Install PPH's AOSP build. Treble.
There's also lineage 18 for treble. I've been meaning to flash then this weekend
Make a few guides on what works and what doesn't.
I just needed a completely pointless post to motivate me
