So guys i have Samsung S7 EDGE SM-G935F it was only on T-Mobile carrier/service, i gave my phone to a friend with different carrier, and he for sure tried something to it to change it so it would acept his sim, and now he returned the phone to me and it doesnt accept my T-Mobile sim, at first when i searched manually networks it was only displaying the other carrier even with my T-Moible sim in, after that i did factory reeset and hard reset, now it shows the T-Mobile network but it says error it cant connect.
Does anyone have idea what could have the guy done to mess up the phone it doesnt acept any sim card now, how can i totally full reset everything do i need to flash custom rom ? Please someone help me i wanna fix it to acept my T-Mobile SIM again like it was from factory.

Hi Eveyrone,
I bought a SM-N900W8 unlocked from a guy. The phone has NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK problem. I can see full bar but cannot make any phone call. The seller said he tried to flash cm and somehow screwed it up, so he reset and restore the phone to its original stock android. Right now im trying to make it recognize my sim. Does anyone have a solution for this? Should I root the phone and try region lock/ sim unlock?
Please let me know
Thank you
UPDATE: I still have my IMEI, its is the same as in the box
i have the same problem. Did u manage to get it to work ??
Hi,
I recently bought this Sprint G6 from my friend as he said it's already unlocked and can use any sim.
It work fine except when i reboot the device, it run "Confirguring device" then stuck at step 1 for a while then just close and said "please contact your carrier to config the device".
It's kinda annoying, is there anyway to get rid of that? Also, can i flash TMobile rom to my Sprint G6?
If you enter ##brand# on the dialer it removes the sprint branding which might get rid of that issue too as long as the sim card is removed when you enter that code. Note it does reboot the device but none of the user settings are reset or removed just the carrier specific stuff.

It should work just the same if you're outside the U.S.
Hello guys. I am not quite new here, but I never registered (or I did but I couldn't find with which email or username).
However, I am having some trouble with Samsung S7 phone.
First of all, the IMEI on the About page is not the same as the IMEI on the back of the phone.
When I enter the IMEI from the back of the phone in IMEI checker, I get the right phone (Samsung S7).
When I enter the IMEI from the About page in IMEI checker, I get some old BLU phone.
Second problem is that I think this phone is not duos, however, whichever firmware I try to flash, I see the SIM card manager in the Settings. Which is weird to me.
Third problem is that the phone won't connect to network. I've tried 3 SIM cards (all 3 of those works on other phones), but this one just won't connect.
It shows full strength of signal, it also shows the phone number of the SIM, however, when I try to make a call, it says "Not registered on network".
The phone should not be locked as my brother said that he used it for some time, then he updated it to the latest OS and then did a factory reset. After that, the phone just stopped working.
Does anyone know what could be the issue? Why the IMEIs are different?
I am quite sure that the phone model is SM-G930F, however, the model number in Settings shows SM-G930FD. Which is again weird to me.
I've looked on the Google to see a picture of the SIM card slot of Samsung S7 duos and mine SIM card slot does not like that. Also, on one slot, it says only "microSD" and on another "SIM". So, I guess it is not a duos phone.
Any advices?
Thank you in advance!
All the best,
Dale
It sounds like somebody has changed the IMEI of the phone and patched the certificate for the IMEI to work.
Once you reset the phone or update the firmware on it, it will remove the patched certificate allowing the changed IMEI.
You will need to look for someone that does IMEI repair / change to get it working for you again I know there is a guy on the forums here that does them for free. Look through the s7 edge sub forums for them.

Well, I already flashed the firmware multiple times with different basebands and versions of the firmware as I thought that the firmware is wrong. Also tried to flash the firmware with Phone EFS Clear option checked in Odin.
Everything else on the phone works.
Sorry that this isnt help but you not alone, I unbricked a Samsung S7 (SM-G930F) after it suddenly just bricked (hard brick/soft brick - same thing). Eventually when I installed nougat on it, and finally wanted to use the phone, i tried a simcard and noticed how it would load all saved contacts but whatever I dailed, it responded "Not registered to network". Checking the model number it is now SM-G930FD but i am unable to verify the imei becuase of missing box. I tried many firmwares (even those that specify its for SM-G930F) but the model number remains SM-G930FD.
could any help plz be posted...

I bought used S8 that had clean IMEI (not blacklisted), it was locked on Sprint and with financial eliglibity. Before I got it unlocked it didn't recognised any sim card, after unlocking it did regular setup on my ATT card with all the ATT apps but it doesn't have service. Then I tried with Verizon SIM and it did the same, regular setup but no service. What do you think what's the problem ?
Phone build number : R16NW.G950USQS3CRE2
Is it rooted, and if it is, have you uninstalled any system packages
If not, try a factory reset and making sure the sim is active and APN settings are working and you have chose a network

It's not rooted, I did remote unlock with unlocking service and they flashed original firmware on it, nothing should be messed up.
I did factory reset few times as well as network reset. I double checked APN info and ofc it's setted up together with card.
I forgot to mention that phone is not showing up IMEI, actually nothing when I type *#06# in dial
that mean you lost imei ....flash factory firmware by yourself...it will do the trick

Can you explain me which one I need ? What about bootloader, is it the same ? I've checked thread about bootloader and mine is "carrier firmware", not unlocked.
Which career search for career. Look at the build number in abiut and search for that.
I'm using ATT and my phone was locked on Sprint, so I flashed Sprint firmware and It's the same. I put the SIM card in, it did ATT setup and all of the apps from carrier but it's still block sign instead of signal sign in top right corner and airplane mode is light blue (not usual blue like when you turn it on)
At least this time it's showing up imei in dialer
I couldn't find ATT firmware, if someone knows there's my build number in first post.
Hi Everyone,
I just bought a brand new s10+ from marketplace. I ran a full imei report and everything is clean & not blacklisted. It was a sprint phone however the provider I use is consumer cellular (uses ATT towers). When I put my sim card in it obviously said invalid sim and request it get unlocked. I wasnt concerned because I was going to convert it to unlocked anyways via odin like I did my note 9. I reflashed it via odin with the u1 firmware. However the same thing is happening it keeps saying invalid sim and the button for mobile operators is not showing. I have a tmobile sim card and if I put that in it works fine. Being though tmobile and sprint are the same thats why it works fine. I also have a ATT sim card, If i put that in I get the same invalid sim message. So it still appears to be locked somehow. Only sprint / t mobile sim works. I thought by reflashing to unlocked it would unlock the phone sim.
Just to be clear the phone is brand new and never was attached to any account.
Any ideas? I dont know what to do here.
Thanks!!
As I understand, phones that are locked to a network are not just software branded... also the phones hardware ID. So flashing a generic firmware is not enough. You need to get the phone unlocked from the phone's original operator
I found out what I had to do. I had to use a remote unlock service to remove the software lock on the phone. Its fine now. Thanks
