Hello everyone, i am new to this phone thread. i recently got this grand prime phone from my brother. i intend to use it as a daily driver but i noticed it is very slow phone and it is very frustrating to use it. i need a daily driver rom which is smooth and fast.
My phone version is : SM-G531H/DD
can you tell me which rom will be the best for daily driver use!

Did you try to unistall/deactivate some apps you don't want or don't use?
I had a SM-G530H that was really slow when I connected to the internet consuming too much CPU, I uninstalled many apps even some native/system ones(google apps and others) and I couldn't solve so I tried some ROMS and it was quite better.
I really recommended aicp android 7.0 and root it than u can install greenify app and kernel adiutor to help u get faster phone than before. I use it for a long time and there is no problem but if u wanna faster phone its mean u drain ur battery for exam I use power save mode than my phone can life more over 5 hours if i use power mode than my phone only life for 3-4 hours

I have been a Galaxy note user since two years and after my screen broke i decided to try the nexus and i am loving it. I am used to flashing roms frequently on my note.
I flashed custom roms on my note to improve my user experience and two years later i still havent found inner peace.
Forgive my babbling. But i want to know should i flash my nexus 4 too?
I am pretty much satisfied with the device .
I am getting 4.5 hours of screen on time. Can i improve it with any combination of rom and kernel.. Also i am noticing that my data is being used continuously by OS services (i have no apps with sync enabled.no fb,no messenger etc etc). Is that normal?
I found the audio good enough but will the audio mods available make it better?
Do any of you use pie controls?(i hate the space used by the navigation bar while reading an ebook)
Currently the rom i have my eyes on is aospa by molesarecoming..
Any interesting mods i should know about?
P.S: I am on 4.3 now so any link to a proper guide for a nexus noob like me would be helpful.

Hey I came from the S3 recently and ended up rooting my nexus within 2 days because I missed the customization. I was running Illusion before on my S3. It was awesome! My data toggles between 3G and H+ depending on what i'm doing. I think 3G is like an idle state You don't have to flash a custom ROM if you don't want but I heard kernels are a big help. The one I've been hearing a lot is this one.
I flashed bean stalk but I might try another ROM soon. The one I flashed has a few issues so maybe I just got a bad flash. Who knows lol.
Here is the guide I followed to root my Nexus. It worked great. I just flashed CWM as well.

I don't care much about customizations. I just don't want a scenario where i have to flash every other week for some reason.

With the custom ROM it has seemed to improved. It's hard to tell until I get back into the work week. I'll get back to you in a few days lol.
Reagrdless, I think at least gaining root access wouldn't be a bad idea. That way you'll always have the option.

Yes, i know. You read the question not for the first time. But I have a problem. Until 4 months I have "XtreStoLite" used. But this ROM will not be further developed. Since then I have used on my G900F about 10 new ROM's (longer term). But none were nearly as good as that of edgarf28.
I need: a clean ROM without Samsung Apps or similar, the battery has a long hold (the biggest problem of all my tested ROM's!), And a newer version, as XXU1BOD3 (the last XtreStoLite version).
I've tested: SIXPERIENCE, Omega, SpaceX, PhoeniX, Space Rocket, Pure Rome, Galaxy Project, NeatROM, Maverick and many more. Please no CyanogenMod, because I do not like the "design".
Currently I have the Pure N5 Port v6.5 ROM installed. I like very well, however, the battery does not last long. I've also been to other kernel versions looked but found nothing really. (How've also probably noticed her, I do not speak very good English - Google translator helps ^^)
I hope you can help me - clean ROM without third apps, fast, stable, and long battery life.

Okay. I have the newest stock lollipop (5.0.) on my phone and i've installed the cleaner. The rom is okay, a little bit old (without themes ) - but okay. But the battery still discharges relatively quickly?! A another kernel? Dou you have a tip? Thanks
Xtrestolite 2.2 is the BEST ROM FOR THE GALAXY S5!!!

I do not understand why he does not do such a great ROM on. And yes, please give me a link. I have the ROM accidentally deleted a month ago It would be glad if you write to me - But I have with the stock ROM & Cleaner the same effect as with the XtreStoLite, or am I wrong?

I don't have CMLocker. And on Facebook, I can not do without ... at XtreStoLite it went so well. Now have the kernel "Boeffla" kernel flashed. Let's see what it does.
The Facebook app drains the battery. You can still use Facebook via a mobile browser. Just as usable. The app causes too many problems

I recommend this ROM. It doesn't have a lot of features, but it is fast.

I installed this rom it seems to work verry nice is stable and fast but i don t see any message app can you tell me a good app for messaging ?

If you like Facebook messenger's chat head feature, then I suggest you YAATA.
I personally use Textra.
Hey guys im really sorry for making this threat but i cant decide wich rom is up to date and good for my usage or wich one is the "best" at all.. well im not really sorry for this threat.. neither for the people who might flame me because i don't get into it..
at this time i use sixperience and got horrible battery lifetime.. i use the kernel wich comes with the rom.. before i used xtresto(?) with mighty kernel.. with that combination i got a good battery life but sometimes i got app crashes and some unnormal background aktivation..
so tell me whats your favorite ROM and Kernel combination..

This is pretty much hardware issue. You can't possibly think that all roms cause all that. It gorra be a part of the device has deteriorated pretty fast, or your device has been faulty since the beginning.
Everybody is having a pretty decent performance, including me, who've had the device since the release date.

Well. I'm on Pixel Experience A12. I can't really promise the prime experience but it gives me the Pixel Experience on my 6 years old phone. But I don't get any random reboots or audio issues, ...etc.
Im on floyd v7 rn and its runs fine except for the battery as i havent had it changed since release. I think your device has some hardware issues
I Don't Get It Till Now

When I Turn The Phone Off At An 100%
When I Leave Home
And Turn On After Around 8 Hours
When I Return Home
The Phone Gets On At An 9%
Which Shocks Me
How Could The Battery Could Be Used Even When It's Off
I Even Tried A Code *#0228#
Which Calibrates The Battery
Even Then No Change
Now This Issue Is Also Getting Frequent With The Others
