I bought a second hand mi6 ceramic. Looks perfect. I think it’s a china phone. I have experience with unlocking and flashing Xiaomi phones but run into trouble with this phone. I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP. I tried to install the EU rom. But everytime I do that it hangs at first startup. I Installed a newer version than that was on the phone (10.2) . I installed both teh stable and weekly, both the same. With the Xiaomiflashtool I went back to its first state (both global and china rom). I don’t understand what I am doin wrong. Someone an idea? Thanks in advance.

I have this issue in December 2017 and from this time i'm on global stable. If this not be fixed to nowadays, probably never will be fixed. My phone it was brand new from gearbest which rather exclude any hw problem.

thanks all. i have kept trying with different version of twrp but indeed nothing works. I give it up now.
install TWRP
Wipe all data (includes storage)
Copy rom zip to phone and install
or sideload install
I have exactly the same issue, I'm trying to change rom due to main microphone issue on Global stable, someone have any suggestion?
I notice that some rom need a specific miui firmware preinstalled before flash the new rom (like lineage OS), I think that the system partition have a certain influence, maybe flash eu rom over global stable is wrong, some one have try flash over developer or weekly?

Hi guys, as you can see from the title, I just bought a new Redmi 2 LTE CN Dual-SIM (Unicom China) WT88047 - HM2014811. I flashed TWRP using Stock Recovery with stock rom (first I tried the 'fresh out of the box stock' and latest global developer rom) and succeeded to boot into TWRP. The problem is (using the 2 stock roms), my touchscreen doesn't work when I try to press or slide when I'm in TWRP. Touchscreen does eventually works after screen time out though. Successfully installed Custom ROMs and stuff, but everytime I boot into TWRP, to use it, I have to wait until the screen goes black (time out) and then the touchscreen becomes responsive. The question is, is this a bug (hardware level bug) or I did things the wrong way? Is there anyway at all to fix this? Because once I accidentally turned off screen timeout and had to flash stock via fastboot to wipe TWRP data. It's becoming pretty annoying. Thank you, please do reply ASAP.

So according to your post....you flashed t.w.r.p by stock recovery .So let me guess. The t.w.r.p was from miui forum.I suggest you to flash t.w.r.p 3.0.2.0 by kumajaya sir (from XDA) by fastboot or rashr or flashify. And flash any custom ROM from here(XDA) and do a clean flash(though clean flash is not a magic wand)

Yes exactly, you are correct, the TWRP was from MIUI forums. I did try flashing kumajaya's TWRP via fastboot and the results: Can't boot to TWRP (and this was before I found the post in MIUI forums, because it's been my habit to check XDA first before oem forums). Sorry I forgot to mention firsthand about this. Maybe it was because of my Redmi 2 model, it's got different soc parts or something, I'm not that well much informed about the differences between Redmi 2 models. What I did found out was that my Redmi 2 Prime (says the online shop that I bought it from) was not exactly Redmi 2 Prime, but it was the Redmi 2 China LTE Dual-SIM model with 16 GB's of ROM and 2 GB's of RAM (Wingtech 2014811 - Redmi 2 LTE Unicom China Dual-SIM).
I do have past experiences with Redmi 2 from a friend who bricked his Redmi 2, and I flashed kumajaya's (sir) TWRP with ease. No problems, perfectly booted to TWRP without any bugs or other problematic situations. Flashed custom roms and kernels, even reverted back to stock (vice versa).
I'm not totally shocked by the different variants of Redmi 2 (My past HH was a Zenfone 5, and yes A*SUS likes to ship HH with different SoC parts, it made me unable to unlock the bootloader), what makes me curious is the difference between KK bootloader and LP bootloader, the limitations and weird bugs that they offer. Why did Xiaomi suddenly implemented a different bootloader for Redmi 2, thats my main question so far.
*PS: I've tried to use nicknitewolfs Modded kumajaya TWRP, from the LineageOS 14.1 thread, and yes it booted, but the same problems exists.
I'll try once more to do a clean flash of TWRP. *fingerscrossed

If he phone have a different SOC then I think no ROM in this forum will work(may be I am wrong, and I hope this) perfectly. If kumajaya Sirs t.w.r.p does not work then try Tesla ROM by miui forums t.w.r.p.I once flashed Tesla by miui forums t.w.r.p ,and it worked fine .But lineage by miui forums t.w.r.p never will work.

Oh so what you're saying is, "changing the zips original recovery.img (from MIUI) and replacing it with Tesla's TWRP from XDA? I'll try that! ", never mind that, I got it wrong, what you meant was install image right? I've done that before, and 'the situation below' happened.
Oh btw I tried flashing XDA Tesla's TWRP via fastboot commands, clean flashed it (fastboot format system, cache, userdata, fastboot erase recovery, fastboot reboot-bootloader and then flash recovery blablabla.img), it booted, but it made another bug. First, the same as before, touchscreen unresponsive, second when screen time out kicked in, my power button or even volume buttons couldn't wake TWRP up. I'm feeling so hopeless right now..

Well which Tesla ROM are you mentioning above? The latest nougat build or the final MM build? Because right now I'm using the final MM build. What does flashing the Tesla ROM have to do on fixing my unresponsive touchscreen on TWRP?

Rom compatibility with recovery.
Hello I have Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus that is currently running on Pixel Experience. Before that i had xiaomi.eu rom 10.3.x.x... The latest rom for my phone from official Xiaomi rom site is 10.2.1.0..
Now the question is will my phone get bricked if i flash stock miui rom?
If you have unlocked bootloader, you can flash latest rom via mi-flash tool. It will not brick your device. Redmi 5 plus aka Vince doesn't have ARB feature. So you are free to flash any version of rom as long as your bootloader is unlocked.

It doesn't matter, every time you install an update of firmware that message is showed, but remember if you come from miui stock or miui based rom, you need to format data
Changelog
UI changed a bit, core apps are updated, new file viewer and editor added and some bugs are fixed.
Disclaimer
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Keep in mind that Chinese builds do not come with Google Play Services or any Google apps pre-installed, though they are easy to sideload. Lastly, the language options are likely limited to English and Chinese.

Hello, ia there anybody who can say if it is necessary to flash gapps with the new global stable miui 11 for santori?
Thanks so far
Hi
No need to flash gapps, these are already included in miui rom.
How to install a dark theme in the MIUI 11.0.2.0 global firmware, tell me please.
I'm coming from miui 10 eu version; flashing Global Stable 11 with last twrp-orangefox, it switches off near completion of rom flashing (clean), and after switching on manually, it gets stuck at powered by android screeen...kind of thinking, but stuck. twice i tried (had to reinstall orangefox again). so i could relive it, but i dont understand why its not letting itself be clean-installed.

You are right. On dirty flash from last miui 10, process seems to work with no issues...
Thanks for the tip
(edit: but then miui cam has some issues, like not connecting to gallery; gcam force closes with same magisk module it worked before perfectly, and then maybe it comes from dirty flashing...so if clean flash isnt working, i better wait for a new updated miui 11 version)

I meant official stable miui 10 not eu..
I found the UI of miui 11 a bit cartoonish! I'm not using that I'm happy with miui 10 beta ?
They have gone the Vivo oppo route with this new UI ?
Is there a fastboot tgz ROM available? It usually works better than flashing a ZIP file.

My device has unlocked bootloader and install the newest TWRP. When I check ARB it was 0 so I can't even flash ROM using Mi Flash. So I install ROM by TWRP but expect Global ROM and EU Dev, I can't install any kind of ROM. There are one time I unpatched fastboot ROM Global 11.0.1.0 and install system.img and boot.img because I got error when install flash firmware to flash ROM. And now, I can't even flash EU Dev, just Global now. Maybe you guy know that Global ROM is the worst and got a lot of small errors but very annoying. Can anyone here tell me why ? Thank you so much and sorry for my bad English.
My xiaomi redmi note 7 device is currently running Android 11 Lineage OS 18.1, and I've been facing an issue in which the phone just freezes randomly, and I'm unable to use it until I force a restart. I faced a similar issue when I was using Cherish OS A12 but it was less frequent. Does anyone have an idea on what the problem could be or how to fix it?
One day something similar happened to me, I recommend you flashing the original firmware of the Redmi Note 7, you can download it from mi community.
I was using cherish, and i didn't have any problem. Before you flash the original firmware, i recommend you to try Project Arcana, it is a good custom rom

Thank you very much. I think I understand now. I'll do that.
UPDATE
I have since flashed the latest firmware and the issue still persists. I also flashed the fastboot ROM of the device to have a fresh start per se, but the issue still returns when I install a custom ROM. Currently on Project Arcana OS, and it's still happening. I have decided to use the ROM without Magisk, because it seems to be the only thing I haven't tried yet, and there haven't been any freezes for almost 24 hours now. I will update this if it happens again.
