Hi All
my nexus 6p is stuck in a bootloop and i'm trying to fix it using fastboot. I need to unlock my device to carry on with the process. How should I unlock it when the phone does not start or go into recovery mode.

I don't have this device myself but, I did locate a thread that may be helpful for what you are looking for that's specific to your device. Don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within it too.

TLDR; No.
Well, at least you put your thread in the correct (Q&A) forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583529
No definitive solutions in there ^^ other than perhaps a suggestion about Framaroot (by @Irwenzhao). I looked in the Framaroot thread and didn't see the Nexus 7 listed, but that might not mean anything. That Framaroot thing looks kinda like a collection of exploits.
You can not unlock your bootloader with any other method than by using fastboot; gaining elevated privilege from within a ROM is a different matter. But even if you "get root" within a ROM, that will not help you to unlock the bootloader without using a USB device which can speak "fastboot" across a cable. And whether or not you "have root" in the form of "su" in the ROM, or even a custom recovery installed, both of those are irrelevant to unlocking the bootloader.
good luck

Hi, nikkifm...
Well, first thing... you're on the wrong forum... this forum is for the Nexus 7 (2012). You might have better luck posting your question somewhere here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013
But if the second generation Nexus 7 is anything like the first generation Nexus 7... then the answer to your question is probably "NO".
Rooting involves first unlocking the bootloader and then fastboot flashing a Custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP)... both of which require running fastboot commands... from a PC.
But as I've indicated, my knowledge only runs to the Nexus 7 (2012)... so maybe there is some other way of rooting the Nexus 7 (2013) that I'm not aware of.
Anyway... good luck.

are you asking about a N7 (despite your ownership of a VZW Samsung Galaxy S3)?
it is my impression that "stock" 4.4.2 is not available on that device as it just got 4.3 - afaik, the only 4.4.2 available for it is via a CM11 ROM... but that would imply you are rooted.
???

Hmmm.
Here's a completely off-the-wall suggestion...
... try running fastboot (ARM binary) on a rooted phone connected to the N7 via an OTG cable ... ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447727
or
http://forums.androidcentral.com/be...ol-native-adb-fastboot-your-phone-tablet.html
I have no idea if this would work. Might depend on the kernel on the Android device (phone/tablet/whatever) running the ARM fastboot binary. I certainly haven't tried it, so there's my disclaimer.
SM-G900P has been stuck in bootloop. Just tried to change apps in UPSM, think that may be the cause. At first I used the UPSM Manager app that I got from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751785 I don't want to factory wipe this, I have a lot of sensitive info on there. It is systemless root on Android 6.0.1. I am using TWRP recovery. Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't have this variant but, I believe that the following thread may be where you would go to Unlock the G5 Korean variants. All you need to do is ask for some member guidance to see if that's the right thread for your device and, if not, then ask for some assistance as to the correct thread to go to.

Dear XDA community,
I recently bought a supposedly unlocked Moto g4 play xt1609 (Verizon) with stock Marshmallow. Everything went fine (working sms, phone calls and data) up until I had the brilliant idea of upgrading my device to Nougat. I did the upgrade using the Verizon nougat firmware and installation went fine. However, I can't make or receive phone calls anymore (but sms + data work)! I tried modifying APN parameters but to no avail. When I have my sim card inserted in the phone, I get a msg saying that my sim card is not a verizon sim. When I click on the msg, it says that I have to activate the phone with a Verizon sim card. Also when I do factory reset, it brings me back the Nougat OS and not Marshmallow...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is their a way to install a non-verizon nougat OS? Or is their a way to get around the phone calls issue?
Cheers,

Thanks, that looks promising. Could you by any chance point me to a good (working) tutorial on how to unlock the bootloader for the xt1609 ? Since it seems to be needed to install the rom.
Thanks!

I still don't have this device and there may be something that a search engine like Google and such can provide you regarding the Bootloader Unlock Code for your LG device.
The only guidance that I can provide you with is to go to the following LG link...
https://developer.lge.com
... and use the "Unlock Bootloader" option located there.
I can't state that it will/has something for your specific device but, this is all I actually know of for Unlocking a Bootloader for an LG Device.
Good Luck!

So I got a S4:a from a person and I was trying to root it for fun. With Odin.
But Odin stops, when I recently pressed "Start" and it says failed.
Anyone know why?!
I was following this tutorial: (Link removed)
I have been using " CF-Auto-Root-ks01lte-ks01ltexx-gti9506.tar.md5 "
and Odin3-v3.10.6 .
Thanks alot! Keep in mind that I'm a beginner (first time rooting a phone)
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread, but I didn't know where to post it. Since I'm new here.
