S8 keeps powering off when trying to factory reset. - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hey guys, in a bit of a pickle.
I'm helping a buddy fix his Verizon S8. We were flashing stock firmware back onto it (never been rooted//unlocked) and afterwards when it boots into recovery, it says "Erasing" and then powers off. We've got it into the boot recovery thing and tried to reset it from there as well as recovery and it does the same thing. I've had him just flash CSC with Odin and to no prevail.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Repartition and nand erase look interesting, thoughts?

Should try to reset from settings insside android to avoid frp. See if that helps. If not flash whole firmware in odin with home csc that always resets em

It wont boot into Android. We've flashed the latest pie build with Odin and nothing.
It sounds like a bootloader problem to me, as sometimes recovery wont even pop up.

Firmware is just like an upgrade. Full tar is like installing a entire rom.
Use Misterxtc's.

If you get into a bootloop, follow Misterxtc's instructions below.
If you get stuck in a bootloop after flashing a tar file DO NOT pull the battery. Enter the maintenance menu by holding the volume down, home and power keys for about 10 seconds. Then clear cache and factory data reset

SM-G900M Stuck in unrepairable bootloop

My SM-G900M is stuck in a boot loop.
When this happened, I Tried to do a factory reset plus cleaning cache in recovery. However this didnot fix my problem so I decided to reflash using odin, so i download the official rom and installed it but again same issue happened. After so much research and headache I installed CWM and did a kalvic, factory reset + format system a few times then I reflashed it afterwards. This seemed to have made the boot loop even worse since I doesn't pass through samsung galaxy s5 powered by android logo. That where the boot loop happens.
So overall I have tried
Reflashing ROM about 5 or 6 times using odin
Flashing a custom recovery multiple times
Factory reset
Clean cache + kalvic
FORMAT system and boot
Pulling the battery out for about a trillion times
Current result:
An Expensive Paper Holder
Thanks
PD: it only works when is pluged in

Help recovering back to stock ODIN Flash Fail!

First of all let me say that I appreciate any help you guys can give me.
So I was trying to unlock to bootloader on my phone from KitKat 4.4.2 (NCG)
I was impatient and did something stupid.
I flashed the G900V_Firmware_PB1.tar.md5 file with Odin and repartitioned with the PIT file.
Of course it didn't work... Annnnnd I bricked... (Softbrick).
So after trying a few other things to no avail I panicked and booted into Stock Recovery Mode and did a full wipe/factory reset, wiped cache, then booted back into DL Mode and TRIED to flash the stock firmware to start over. The problem is the ODIN flash keeps failing and I don't know what to do.
I tried downloading the Stock Firmware from multiple sources and it keeps failing.
So I'm starting to freak out a little.
I can still successfully flash the G900V_Firmware_PB1.tar.md5 but that doesn't help me.
Any Help?

@Bren123, I've passed this to @stang5litre earlier today and not sure if hes gotten with the user yet. What do you think he needs to do? I mentioned to the user via PM that he needs to do a backup of everything, which is including a Nandroid but didn't mention if did or didn't. If so, should try that first? Should've just unlocked the bootloader first with what ROM it's currently using and then go from there to update.....hadn't had time to get back to them....not home yet. Appreciate it guys!!

Well to be honest I would just go to BPB1 here is the BPB1 Stock tar for odin (different than the one your using) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911970571
And use this pit https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347765167 in the pit slot in odin could be in the options on the left
And flash then report back any errors if odin gives one

Bricked during format

Struggling a bit and hoping someone might be able to help.
I was running Batman 1.3 and went to upgrade to 1.4 and hit a snag. I didn't realize it, but my phone was encrypted so I just got the spinning padlock.
Went into TWRP and reformated, reinstalled, but it wouldn't boot past the splash screen.
Read through the forums and was trying to reformat to exfat and then back to ext4, but it got stuck during the first format and now won't even boot into TWRP. Just gets stuck on the TWRP loading screen.
I can boot to download mode, so I've tried reverting back to stock through ODIN, but no luck. Always gets stuck on "SetupConnection"
Hoping someone might have some advice.
Thanks!
Permanently bricked your device.
Nothing you can do.
Thanks for the response.
I was hoping there would be a way to reformat from scratch given that it connects to ODIN and at least starts to boot TWRP
Just wanted to see if others had any other opinions...
Ok, going to try again and get another opinion. Thanks
try install with smart switch
bro just use samsung kies ... ODIN. install TWRP flash ROM>
If I understood correctly, odin is stuck on a step during flash ? Or odin cannot detect your phone at all ? If it don't detects you should try using different pc, and if it stucks during flashing process, you need to flash pit file along with firmware. Cant be sure what you did, but if you corrupted nand, then unfortunately you have a total brick.

Flash again using pit file and check repartition box in odin. It should solve this issue, otherwise you are stuck, may be you corrupted nand somehow.

S7 Edge G935F Stock rom flashing issues!

Hey, i have a s7 edge that i attempted to root but bricked instead, it booted to the Verification failed, please factory reset screen. I tap Reset and it goes to TWRP. So i wiped System, data, cache, internal storage thinking it would work but i messed up the whole thing!!
I tried flashing the stock firmware via odin but it always fails on 'sboot.bin'. I don't know what to do. Please help. Smart switch doesn't detect the phone.....
edit: i have just found that sboot.bin fails because of a outdated bootloader? would downloading the latest firmware from sammobile work?? i really need the phone working as quick as i can

Yea it could be the issue ,as u can't downgrade bootloader only update it with newer version.
Also if that doesn't help but hopefully will ,try nand erase and repit too.
