This little app uses Samsungs Always On Display (AOD) as notification indicator.
It turns on the AOD on notifications and turns it off when notifications are cleared.
The app has almost zero impact on battery, but gives you a clear visual feedback on incoming notifications.
Sounds simple, but works even better!
Simply select which apps are allowed to turn on Always On Display and get notified on important notifications.
Furthermore you can ignore notifications when the phone is unlocked, so they wont activate the Always On Display.
FEATURES:
Activate Always On Display on notifications
Disable Always On Display when notifications are cleared
Select apps which can turn on Always On Display
Minimal battery consumption

Hi
While I had this app installed, the feature "Tap to show' in AoD didn't work... it kept changing to Always on.
This might be a minor issue for some, but not for me.
Did this happened to anyone else?

Very nice but the last update triggers aod as expected and set it to always in main settings.
Hi, does this work like Glimpse Notification app? Or is this different from it?
How to deinstall this App properly? When I remove it, my AOD does not work anymore!
Please stop and banned this dev! This dev stealing money from people, make app and you pay for full version, but if you pay for full version the app dont work! Only if you buy one more app! Looool! You know about what app i talking. And to many dev on xda is full, and xda accept. Believe me.

It's under settings->sound and display... 1 minute works great and under the appliactions->Development you can also set it so that it doesn't turn off while plugged into USB (charging). That was a god send when I rooted and put the deodexed ROM on.

Get NoLock from the market.
Yes, nolock. An essential item. I pity all the regular people that don't go on forums with these phones, Samsung and Android are really going to alienate a lot of them. I suppose regular people go for the iphone though so maybe I don't have a point after all.
There is an awesome app called LockDelay that allows you to screen-off your phone after whatever time you specify, and then it will automatically lock it after yet another time you specify.
I HIGHLY recommend it, it really allows you to secure your phone and save your battery by turning that screen off.

Just sold a Vibrant in my T-Mobile store today. My rep was showing the customer hers and the customer asked her opinion, he also noticed I had one (I'm the store manager) so I walked over and struck up some conversation to close the deal. As I scrolled through the screen he noticed the XDA app icon and inquired about it. I gave him a few pointers and explained he should joined because there's a wealth of knowledge to be found on these forums. I've found having that little app installed on my phone, as well as our Android live demos is a nice way to introduce customers and new Android owners to XDA.
stock phone is very good. but after customizing, it becomes a whole different android experience.
Thanks for all the tips... I installed no lock, and set the screen to a min an its doing the trick.
Side note, its amazing that I could make the jump from blackberry an transition to the vibrant, can u think of 2 more different phones.

They are two very different phones, but as someone works in the industry, my opinion is that RIM hasn't helped themselves by keeping the Berry in the "stone age." Don't get me wrong. I understand they still have a strong following and a huge success in the business market, but Android is catching up and can be used just as well if you have the right phone. Glad you made the jump and the transition is going well.
Hello guys! Some of you may have participated in the beta of Killswitch, our app for tablets and phones with cases that turns off the screen whenever the case is shut.
We need some feedback from people running roms on thier Galaxy Tabs. Could those of you that participated please leave some comments and thoughts on improving the app's functionality?
We have just released a major update that should solve some sensitivity issues and wonder if this has affected users, and its very hard to get constructive feedback from the market.
Works much better for me - seems to have fewer false turnoffs
[RUS] Последняя версия работает значительно лучше — гораздо меньше ложных срабатываний [/RUS]
We are trying to improve this... could you please try setting a higher Activation Delay value so that we can test what kind of effect this has?
Its possible this very rough filtering will be very useful in certain conditions!
Did it help?
well? its so annoying when people on a forum like this one don't provide technical feedback...
I bought the application but every time the display decrease brigtness (for battery reason), kilswitch ask to go on standby.
Please solve it.

Hi, could you be more specific? Please send a logcat!
Tick "debug mode" then run aLogcat from the market, reproduce the error and send me the text from aLogcat.
Ill be looking into some major changes to killswitch next week, so nows a good time to give tech feedback and suggestions!
Guys, im almost done with the extra functions, so now would bve a good time to send those logcats you were telling me about!
I will volunteer to help as soon as I get my cover LOL (got one on the way from ebay). cheers looks very nice can't wait to try it out.
Looks interesting but I see you don't have a trial version on the Market and with Google's policy of only 15 minutes return I am reluctant to spend over £2 on something I can't test properly.

Same here. Also startup randomly.
The trial version limits the minimum shutdown time to 23 seconds, which is why it didnt seem to do anything.
In order to uninstall you have to uncheck admin permissions, as it says in the OP, the help file and the relevant setting item.
It starts randomly when sensitivity is too high and when your Activation delay is very low. Read the help.

If that's the only reason you need the lock screen password then yes I can confirm once again that it works. Just follow the thread.
Another option is to use WidgetLocker. Then you would have the lockscreen Dashclock and a customizable unlock slider, and then a password/pattern lock screen afterwards. This is what my wife uses, and it works well.

Yea really and I did read what I wrote. We're talking about how to fix a $600 phone to make it work BETTER. Of course its notbon the same level as curing cancer or world hunger. From what I've read in your post your always right. Bud just because someone else wants to mess with their phone when they have to Odin to fix it, or they are looking for a solution to a problem you feel is unimportant does not mean they are less then you. Some of us want to make our phones as good as they can be FOR US. This is what this whole site is about. DEVELOPING ways to IMPROVE our phones. Improvement for ke may mean nothing for you but still it deserves a place here. This site is not KryptosXLayer2-development.com.

You don't have to attempt to educate me on why we screw around with these phones, I'm not new to this, chief..... I just recommended something that works for JUST as well, but you've obviously got some issues to resolve in your own life, so have fun dealing with all that, geez!

Everyone has their issues in life. Mine are fairly minor. I'm just not big on stopping progress just because I feel the immediate effects are useless. To me the end result could be something amazing. This might end up inspiring someone to get AOSP lockscreen working, or even someone to learn to code etc. Basically I see it as an opportunity. I took your comment the same way I take people who dont want to research basic science or ways to save certain animals from extinction etc because they dont see the immediate point. Of course this is much less important but the thought process seemed the same "I wont benifit in the next few days, who cares". I try to allow my mind to stay open, and to see opportunities were ever they appear. I dont honestly think 5 threads about bootloaders aee needed or the AdamOutler's thread is needed yet (I personally would have waited until Dan released his hack to expect the theead to stay on topic since so many people laced so much hope on Dan that theybare foing to talk about it every were they can.) But I dont go around telling these people they are wrong and their issues unimportant. I let the threads be and check in from time to time to see if anything meaningful has occured. Maybe it's just the American in me be I perfer to let people have their important issues and help those I can and those I agree with while not bothering those whom I can't help or those whom I don't agree with.

I like widgetlocker. Only issue I have is sometimes it does not load, or is slow to load. These are nit to bad though and this is what is holding me over until I can mess around and try to enable AOSP lockscreen.
Hello everyone.
I recently purchased the Divoom Aurabox.
It's actually a Bluetooth Clock/Speaker with a LED panel.
The functionalities and LED Panel are controlled by an APP on the smartphone.
I feel like it's a really poor APP, with not so many options (taking aside the fact that it's poorly designed)
Thought of redisinging it, give new functionalities and making it easier to use.
Has anyone modded/hacked the app or the Aurabox? If not, Is it possible?
Thank you!
UP!
I think it has awesome capabilities.
Just tell me if it is possible or not, and i will start trying myself !
Hi Guys. Any luck on that. I would love to send custom notification to my Aurabox.

Yeah... They were even advertising the Aurabox as if it had features it didn't
When I contacted them, they changed descriptions/images.
And, well, the APP... Is one of the worse chinese-ports I have ever seen.
Just a brightness slider control would make me happy, since the "shake mobile, change into 2 brightness" is not enough. Try to use this with the lowest brightness on a dark bedroom. Impossible to sleep.
I've bought the new Timebox. The device is neat but the software is a peace of crap lol !
What will be nice is that the device itself get an open firmware...
I just got one of these for cheap. I was really hoping there was some way to get custom notifications on it. Does anyone know if there's an app for it?

I've written a small program using RFO BASIC. I've also created a demo video. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post external links here (as a new user). But if you want you can search for bigboss97 (user name) and TimeBox on YouTube. You will find some hacks videos there. Good luck!
I recently read that the TimeBox can record Audio/Morph. Can the TimeBox Mini or its APP store audio clips? As in, can the TimeBox be Bluetooth-ed to a vehicle (hidden inside the vehicle) and monitor the calls, notifications, sounds ect.
Hey boys and girls!
Got a question about features, functionalities and how tos? One offs that don't deserve a full thread? Let's try asking it here.
Let me start.
Anyone know how to have a banner as a notification? One that you can swipe away instead of a little bubble you can expand and have to drag into a little garbage.
Edit: If anyone else is wondering. Found the solution here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10/Pop-up-notification-bubles-S10/m-p/472476#M1495

Not that I know. I know that good Lock adds functionality to edge lighting but not that function in particular. Maybe someone else could chime in. On a brighter note I saw in a Samsung forum that Samsung was working on giving the lights around the camera some of those led functions. It didn't come from Samsung officially so who knows. That being said RIP phisical LED!

Well that's normal behavior. The only progress bar you'll see is in the app store itself and if you happen to be using one of the apps being updated it might force close. I'm not sure sure what the question is. Maybe a bit more details in regards to what you're trying to accomplish might help. ?

Hi All
Im experiencing a drop in data connectivity once in a while, be it with browser, fb, ig, youtube etc. BUT my 4G icon is still available and present at the navigation bar with full service reception.
I called my provider if there is any issues on their end but they said all is fine up and running.
Anybody having this issues or isit my baseband faulty or some kind? Snapdragon hardware btw. I have hard reset it by using the buttons but still no use.
Im an avid android geek having 3 4 phone changed in a year but this is by far the most frustrated device yet
Please help do i need to turn off some settings or what not?
Hopefully its just a software glitch or something it would be a hassle to send in for investigation.
Did you try a "Reset network settings"? That would probably be my first step in troubleshooting.
