ok.....you won`t be able to go back to Marshmallow once you have flashed nougat fw (system and cust partitions ar bigger on Marshmallow).
If you want to have a functional phone Flash Nougat rom......it`s your only option.
Thanks
My phone is working with Nougat rom
But I want to go back to Marshmallow !!!!!! It's a pity I can't

Yes, but only first fullOTA-MF-PV version - upgrade from MM to Nougat. (for C432 B370/371 ).
Its impossible update to following OTA versions via TWRP or fastboot.
can I do it with stock receovery?

Not recommended, try Firmware Finder.

[Recovery] Stock recovery collection

Hello guys,
I want to share stock recovery for P10.
If you want to install an official OTA, flash this recovery ad launch the OTA update after reboot
-------- Updated 17/03/2019 -----------
Stock recovery VTR-L09 Nougat:
Download
Stock recovery_ramdisk VTR-L09 Oreo:
Download
Stock recovery_ramdisk VTR-L29 Oreo:
Download
Stock recovery_ramdisk VTR-L09 Pie (*Not tested*) :
Download
NB: Recovery partition starting from Oreo is a bit different from previous versions, it is split into 'recovery_ramdisk', 'recovery_vendor' and 'recovery_vbmeta'
The one's you probably want to flash is 'recovery_ramdisk'. (recovery_ramdisk is where TWRP goes)
How to flash recovery_ramdisk in Oreo?
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk RecoveryName.img
Can you provide VTR-L29 Oreo stock recovery?

I have, and I can confirm that it works!
For the VTR-L29 Oreo, what oreo version is it from? Tried it on 8.0.0.371 using FF twrp and it said the file is larger than the destination.
Full build number is VTR-L29 8.0.0.371(C432)

Not able to use my pc atm, I just assumed it would work in twrp too but guess I'll have to wait to update lol
After a clean install oft rrBeta3 and magisk, turning in the display takes way too long. Its varying up to 5 seconds after pressing power or use the fpr. Any idea?

I also tested it on rooted P10 and OTA worked like a charm! Better than hwota and anything else!!! Thanks OP
Not working for me on VTR-L29.
Boot into eRecovery, wifi connects ok and then get message 'Getting package info failed'
I'm on C636 if that makes a difference
Sorry for stupid question, but today my P10 got an update to EMUI 9, and now it won't boot.
It's waking up withe eRecovery, and the only 'useful' option is to wipe data/factory reset. The problem is that I have some data on my phone which I don't want to loose.
Smartphone is not rooted, so my question is - is it possible to (let's say) install stock Oreo on it again?

It is possible but you will lose data either way.

[Q] Best way to upgrade to Oreo

My build number is WAS-LX3C605B186 EMUI 5.1. I want to update to Oreo and firmware finder has a PV update available among others but now I'm reading that firmware finder stopped working is this true? If so what is the most accepted method for upgrading? I'm still not getting the update through the official channels and I'd like to speed things up.
I think u have some minor update to B187 (as i had) then u can c ur emui 8 full update in system update

Oh is that how it is? Yeah, I do have that minor update available to B188 I think. Will I have to reroot after applying it? I just want to know in order to plan ahead.

Yes it is?
U need stock recovery partition(not twrp) so after minor update may not lose ur root but i lost my root after full update to emui 8 and bootloader locked again.

Downgrade Pie to Oreo

Is there anything special that I need to do to downgrade from Pie back to Oreo?
I want to try a few Pie ROMs and if I don't find anything better than my current Oreo setup I would like to be able to rollback.

You should be aware that Pie twrp's require pie firmware and not Oreo firmware.
This means: use older recovery if you want to test pie and roll back to oreo without any problems.
If using Oreo TWRP, can I just flash 5.1.7 to downgrade from 9.0.1?

Yes., but a clean flash may be necessary if problems occur, so keep that in mind.

This makes no sense, how is someone suppose to use Pie with an older Oreo version of TWRP installed to the recovery?
With PIE installed you'll need the PIE firmware version of TWRP and can you really flash Oreo in the PIE TWRP to downgrade?
hmm

Post 2,3 and 4 gives you everything you need to know. You can simply downgrade but use an Oreo twrp since Oreo needs Oreo ready twrp. What are your concerns?
What about details of your device?
