I have a OnePlus 5 with Oxygen OS 9.0.5
Im trying to downgrade Google Play Services, but to do so I have to uninstall updates but it won't let me. So I went to Security & Lock Screen > Device admin apps, but I couldn't find it there. But the I realized there was an active app with admin permission that wasn't showing in the list.
I'm new to xda so I can't post screenshots but in Security & Lock Screen it shows me there is 1 active app under Device admin apps. But when I enter Device admin apps, all the apps listed are deactivated, including find my device.
My question is, how can I uninstall the updates of Google play services? And what is the app that isn't showing in the list?

You should simply install an older version of Google play services from apk mirror, did you tried that?
Is your device rooted and running any mods or magisk modules?
Normally there should be no app active if 0 is shown on the mentioned settings page.

I alrwady tried to update it with the apk but I can't update an app with an apk if the app is still installed in the phone because the message app not installed pops up. I don't have root. I know there should no app active, but it says 1 app active and I don't know why.

Hiya - I have the Desire and just got Wildfire for daughter - she is delighted-me less so as we have switched from PAYG to contract and I do NOT want her to go over her minutes, so have tried in vain to get the Mobile Account Checker from the Android Market. It shows up on my phone on the market, but not on hers! I tried scanning the barcode thing with her phone - not available. Tried with mine and bingo it is there. Any clues? I have it installed on my phone, but really need it for her!

Did you try to install via the website with Fastinstall installed and activated?
Just syncing with appbrain doesn't work.
1. download and install appbrain from market
2. download, install, and open fast web install from market
3. follow on screen instructions to let fast web install integrate into appbrain
4. visit www.appbrain.com search for your application and hit the "install" button on the appbrain website

5. the application should then be magically pushed to your htc wildfire,
if not: check that wifi or 3g is enabled. if it still doesn't work, try "manage my apps" -> "sync with appbrain" in the appbrain application and wait a few seconds
Sync doesn't work since it opens the market page or tries to.
i guess you're mixing it with "perform installs"
i noticed that sometimes i click install on the website, but nothing happens. even when wifi is enabled ... so i did the steps @ #5 and it worked then ... just a personal workaround. nothing official
i found a topic at g4 tattoo

like simulate screen resolution higher.
but it need root first.
i m not sure how to do root on g8.
maybe anyone who already root can try it out.

3. Click Here , Download and Install Google play Installer 2.0 ( Instructions and Guidance)
4. Open Google Play store and search for Rom Toolbox Lite and Install it
5. Open Rom Toolbox Lite , it will ask for Root Access Permission , Just Tab on Home Button (It needs for being known the app by Security app)
6. Open Security app->Permission->Root access-> Tab to enable Rom Toolbox Lite .( A msg asks 4 times for Next and finally accept <<each takes 5 seconds>>)
7. Open Rom Toolbox Lite ->App Manager -> Find Mi app store and Tab on it ->Tab Freeze
8. Go to Setting-> Installed Apps-> All->Find Mi app store and Tab on it ->Tab Uninstall
9. Open Security App->Permissions->Autostart->Find and Tab on Google Play Store-> Enable Allow Apps to Start automatically and Allow the App to be started by other apps. (Other Apps will address and call Only Google Play Store For Installing another Apps)
Now your Google Play Store is as Default app Store automatically Due to there is no another App Store.
Enjoy !
Works perfectly for me. Thanks man!

YOUR WELCOME
I've already asked this question in another thread but didn't get any answer yet: do i still have root access on the China Dev ROM or not? If so, does the Global Dev ROM also has root access?

Hi your ideas look great
but i cant find the root access anywhere
plz reply me for this problem
---------- Post added at 06:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:13 AM ----------
yes i am also facing that problem
i cant find it anywhere
Unfortunately I have the USA variant of the S7 (Tmobile, Oreo) which means a locked bootloader, and no root access (for now). However that doesn't mean we can't disable system applications. This should work on ANY S7 variant and most other Samsung devices, Android 6.0 to 8.0. The process is easy and takes little to no time.
****WARNING: Without root access, a factory reset is the only way to restore applications disabled by this method.****
1. Make sure developer options are enabled (settings > about phone > tap build number 7 times).
2. In developer options, make sure ADB debugging is enabled and plug your phone into your PC. (Requires Android SDK/platform tools. See here).
3. Download App Inspector from the Play Store and locate the application(s) you want to disable and tap it.
4. The package name is located at the top in the form of com.android.xxx or com.samsung.xxx. Write down the package name because you need it for the next step.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5. With your phone plugged into your PC, open an ADB window. For this step, I will use the package name for Samsung Weather. You should clear the data of any application prior to disabling. Type the commands below, replacing the Samsung Weather package name with your desired package name:
Code:
adb shell pm clear com.samsung.android.weather
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.weather
6. That's it! If you performed the steps properly, you'll see the word 'success' after each application you disable.
this works. I've tried it before. however applications deleted/disabled using this method that are available in the Play Store can still be installed. just to clear things up
But is it possible to install an older version of a system app using this method?

I'm not sure, but I would say no. This just disables the system app and leaves it in the system untouched. You can try though. Worst that will happen is the app doesn't get installed.

On July 2017 there was an article already about how to uninstall bloatware or unnecessary apps from android smartphones.
Your thread is not new, but better to find.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
It works fine and I used it on Android 6, 7 and 8 with Samsung S7 (SM-G900F) german firmware.
You can uninstall them, but it is not possible for me to remove them completely from the firmware within the smartphone memory.

Correct. It doesn't remove the app. Just disables it.

,I have a Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) which was running out of space (-500MB). To save some space, I rooted it, removed some bloatware apps and started to remove some apks from /system/priv-app using Root Explorer. Later I noticed that Play Store is not working anymore as it tells me to login to my Google account, but the button is not working.

When I went to settings/Accounts, I realized that the Google button is greyed out as I can not add any Google account.
I believe this has to do with Google Play Services, because I remember accidently deleting it from /system/priv-app. I keep getting this notification :
Having no access to Play Store, I manually installed various APKS from external sources but none of them solved this issue.
I also installed apks for Google Account Manager and Google Services Frameworks but nothing happens.
It seems that I'm missing an apk but not really sure what it is.
Any help would be appreciated

You could always just install a custom recovery. And then upgrade the phone to android pie with one of the custom ROMs available.
You will lose all your data but its faster than stock rom and you can use an sd card for internal storage and move apps to the sd card.
Also without play services and Google services framework you probably wont get notifications for apps or else delayed notifications
It started 3 months ago, suddenly my tablet reboots while in sleep mode. And whenever i run the built in mobile manager to clean tablet, i always see in the cleaning list "system UI" im thinking maybe something wrong with that or maybe an app is doing it.
If someone suggests to reset the tablet and get into safemode, i want to avoid that because of the time and money adding apps that cost me money not to mention the gallery filled with precious images. But if that is the only option, i would need to confide to self for a lengthy timeframe

UPDATE
the google playstore app is beyond repair. The source of the constant rebooting because it is corrupt. Luckily was able to get an apk repair app and update store apps, minus the playstore app. i used to frown using external apk/ xapk files but right now i have no choice
