u can see them in pie? what type of video u try to see? i mean, wmv, mov, avi, mpg?
I can't see the using anything that I've tried. I am not downloading them. Yahoo has a section called Music Launch and a person has the ability to look at videos on there, but my browser says that i need to upgrade my internet explorer.
Does Yahoo advertise this as working on mobile devices? Not every website that works on the PC will work in PIE or Opera Mobile, simply because they can depend on Desktop things. For instance, ActiveX controls which in turn expect a desktop Windows environment or, as is probably the case in Yahoo Music, Windows Media Player on the desktop, which may not support the same featureset of mobile version.
Unless it is advertised as a mobile solution don't expect it to "just work".
I suggest just using Resco radio, or pocket player to stream a link. I listen to my local radio station using a stream.
I forgot the address, but there is a website with radio streams optimized for PPC. Yahoo is heaving on the traffic
I can't stream none of the video from youtube via htc streaming media.
Is there a fix for this? May be i installed one of the cert files wrong?
And what other sites does htc streaming media work on. I wish to test it
Hello –
What videos are you trying to stream?
I am one of the developer who worked on Avot mV which runs on most of Windows mobile 5.0 and newer phone with the idea of searching and playing any video from video sharing sites like YouTube, Google Videos, DailyMotion and other web locations.
Since you’re interested in streaming videos, you might want to download this application and provide the feedback to improve the product.
You can download the application by pointing the mobile browser to http://avotmv.com
Your program is very brilliant and its very efficient in some ways but needs work done for more control of its options.
Downloaded files should store on Card
I think its best for the program to download its video content onto the memory card instead of the internet explorer cache. I was wondering why my phone was becomng so slow and i kept getting these prompts about memory usage. I was looking in the folders for stuff to delete so that the phone wont be slowing down anymore, its was only till i realise it would have to be in the cache. A average user wouldn't have thought of this!
Stop & pause don't respond immediately while playing
I was trying to stop a video from streaming and it wasn't stopping, it took about 10 seconds to respond. I only had avotmv and PIE running.
Playing videos directly from youtube and other sites
It takes a while for the page to load on youtube and it never played. One time i heard the audio playing when i was using dailymotion.com but i never saw the video.
Suggestion: List the respective channels by their website name
I wish there was an option to list the respective channels by there respective name in the channels list. User would like to search by youtube alone instead of every video site. That option would be great for just searching one video site alone.
Its a gem in beta so far, if you wish me to keep working with you on feedback please leave a link to your forum and i'll appreicate it if you offer me a free copy of the software

Either I'm a completely useless with searching (good possibility) or I just can't find what I'm looking for.
What I seek is an app near to or identical to ORB.
It allows me to stream My Video/Music from my networked PC on the go. Why not use orb? After trying it out I cannot get it to work on the nexus one. I would like something to take its place.
I've tried Orb (Winamp Remote) and Gmote but they didn't really offer much other than basic control over a music collection.
I now use Subsonic (subsonic.org) because of the flexibility and performance. It's only for music but on the forum, they've also gotten it to work with some video. The server software itself is meant to be run from a web browser (more options) but the Android app is still pretty slick. You can create different users and assign bitrate limits to them. For instance, I have 2 users.. one that uses the Android app, limited to 64kbps for EDGE/3G (music is re-encoded on your server itself using LAME) and another user with unlimited bitrate for use on a PC or on the N1 via WiFi.
Performance is pretty good because the app saves the songs/playlist to the SD card while it's playing (even large playlists). Each song that has been saved has a star next to it.
The Android app (free) will work for 30 days until you make a "donation" to license the server software for minimum 10€ (~$13). Well worth the cost. There's a demo on the site or you can PM me if you want to take it for a test drive.
Thank you for the reply, Im more interested in additionally finding a video option but I am going to give this a try for music.
Thanks again hopefully there is another option soon.
Hey all, im new to WebOS development.
I have a web music player written in vue 2 and I ported it successfully into a WebOS app.
The app works flawlessly except one problem - when I try to use SharedArrayBuffer to transfer data between threads I get errors, which might be related to Web Audio Api SharedArrayBuffer (this is the part of code where it crashes)
Does webos support Web Audio Api by default? Do I need to configure anything in the app or webos settings?
*I have to use SharedArrayBuffer to avoid latency and other issues while playing and streaming.
*The Web Player is in production and works perfectly on browsers (which support SharedArrayBuffer)
Thank you.
