Uhm. NO. Samsung does not blacklist any IMEI's just because we are rooting/flashing our handsets.
A blacklisted IMEI will not be null/null, a blacklisted IMEI will be the original IMEI.
This is some kind of software fault (Or ofcause HW)
Try to reboot into recovery, do you get failed to mount /EFS?
Best regards

That instruction is for T-Mobile Note 3.
On Note 3 International version the partitions may be different, so doing that may mess up with partitions and may brick the device.
Be careful.

Yes, but the EFS partition may be different.
In that instruction, I see the EFS partition is mmcblk0p12.
But on my Note 3 N9005, the EFS partition is mmcblk0p11.
So just a warning.

I believe that updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 will not change the partition structure.
The partition structure is device-dependence, and vary from model to model (N900T vs N9005).
@ OP: you can follow that instruction, but you may need to replace its efs partition (mmcblk0p12) to your efs partition (mmcblk0p11, if your device is N9005 international version, as mine).

Enable USB debugging, connect your phone to the computer.
Install adb using the 15 second adb installer (Google it) and in the directory adb is installed in, hold down shift then right click on a blank area, click on Open command window here, then type adb start.

Hi, I am not happy with the latest update (V1.15.40.639) and would like to downgrade to the previous one (V1.13.40.496). I read on zentalk forum that we can downgrade by downloading the latter firmware from asus site(http://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-2-Laser-ZE550KL/HelpDesk_Download/) and place it on SD card root. The reboot to the recovery and select something like "apply update from external". Can someone confirm if this will work? Is there an easy enough and confirmed way to downgrade the firmware. Any help will be much appreciated.
Edit: The method works!
Haven't done that but it should work, if you face any app crashes you will need to reset phone

Like I said the you'd face app crashes which you can fix by resetting phone.
If you are not comfortable to do this then simply go to service center and tell them you want certain update flashed for whatever reason.

I placed the update on sd card. Booted to recovery. cleared data and cache and applied the update via SD Card method. The cleared cache once more and rebooted.Voila!
This method is going to wipe all user data???
Probably a reboot would do the same result.
I have, like many others, the latest firmware and I didn't encounter no problems. So definitely is not the firmware itself.

LOL. That's one question I never ask. It's always a good idea to do a backup before any update, especially if it's a full firmware flash and not an OTA update.
No. I only wiped cache and it seems to have kept the data intact at the time. I had a backup for safety's sake but I did not need to restore it.

I was VERY stupid. I went back to stock Oxygen OS using a fastboot image and now if I dial #*06# the IMEI box shows up but no IMEI number is actually in the box it is just blank. I did post about this before but last time I didn't really know what happened I was asking if anyone could tell me what they thought happened. I am pretty sure I screwed up the EFS partition and I am just wondering what I need to do now. Is there some way I can repair it I mean I don't have a backup. Can I contact OnePlus support? I really need help.

This happened to me a few times in the past, all I had to do was wipe dalvik and cache again and it came back. Not sure if it's the same issue but I would give it a shot. Just boot into recovery and wipe them again and see if it gets you back up and running.

I cannot use that because my device is not hard bricked and it will not install the driver since I can enter the bootloader normally.
Not sure if you've seen this post its based on the post above but I think it just uses fastboot. Don't know if it will work for you, but figured it would be worth a shot.

I tried using the tool and it did not work, I purposely hard bricked the device to try it and still no signal or imei. Another problem is WiFi takes about 4 minutes just to turn on but I can live with that I just want service.
Basically flashing back the stock should bring back the efs. Let's see if someone has a solution. Sorry!
EFS files are unique to each phone. If the EFS is corrupt or damaged, and there is no backup, I don't know of any way to fix it ;_; You can try OnePlus support but they aren't as dumb as carrier warranty or other phone manufacturers. They'll be more likely to know what you did.
It is possible to restore your imei number, I did it on my brothers lg g2. It requires some software for PC (I can't remember the name, you'll have to google it) and the box your phone came in with the imei number. It is possible, so don't lose hope!

Hey,
When the IMEI is corrupted on the software side, it still shows up using:
fastboot getvar all
So the IMEI is somehow corrupted on the EFS partition. How, I don't know. Seems like the EFS acts like a bridge between hardware/software. Of course, I could be wrong...
Some have tried but didn't succeed. Now, it's not the first time I see someone using another EFS backup and getting his IMEI back. I don't know why it would get "their"" original IMEI instead of the one included in the EFS backup either. But i guess they must all lie saying it fixed their device.
Cheers...
I have restored EFS using a backup from someone else's device EFS. It did not change my original imei.

Down do it. The efs is device dependent. It will contain things like your imei. So even if restored on another device it will end up causing issues due to the same imei on different devices. It can also make it so things like WiFi don't work

Guys can anyone share efs so that I can restore and save my phone..I Have no signal ispitevof detection sim card...it shows no service.. But when I use jio it shows full signal..kindly help..
I had similar problem with my OnePlus X. Apparently I was saving and restoring my efs partion with every twrp backup which eventually caused it to become currupt. Thought my phone was toast until a friend on telegram suggested deleting modem1 and modem2 files with adb commands. Sounded more destructive then good but it actually worked sim was reading again and got full use of my phone. It's good to make backup of efs but only once. Not sure if this is the fix for every phone but works with OnePlus and Xiaomi.
How to Fix EFS from Bootloader Mode using Fastboot commands
Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
Enable Developer options & USB debugging on your Android device.
Connect your device to the PC and open a command window on the PC.
Issue the following commands one by one:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot
Got my information from here

I sometimes get problems just after flashing, and GSM/Wifi 5Ghz take up to 5 minutes to initialize. Deactivating and reactivating the sim card helps. Did u try that?
- Else, I'd get a 7.1.1 factory image and start over, that baseband is *exactly* the same as mine and I only have that "5-minutes-without-wifi-and-network" bug.
- Try looking for wifi just after booting the phone : if you only see 2.4Ghz networks and no 5Ghz network, just turn the sim car off and on, and it's ok, just that bug.
reflash a full stock firmware, if you have imei, you must have then, then if you want, do the process again to get twrp
Hi Folks,
i've done some reading and my problem is a broken EFS sector due to TWRP recovery.
Even after manual IMEI restore, the EFS is broken and causes the no service issue:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/investigation-recovering-efs-twrp-t3522171
Only option is to get a EFS copy from another device, push it on my one and change the IMEI to my own manually.
If efs was ’restored’ using the signed twrp used for unlocking then there is no fix for that.
