Does anyone facing issue in 6t that alert slider is too hard too move ... Have to apply a significant amount of force ... ? Anyone ?!
I just picked up one from eBay and mine is pretty stiff, too.
Quite honestly, I've had mine since launch, I've never touched it.
Its kind of tough to slide .. my father has same device and it's smooth on their phone
Yea,can be a bit stiff ,but find it's a lot smoother if I use my nail and it just easily clicks up and down

I got replacement at service center within 30 mins they found that most of 6t users have this problem becuse of the wrong cutout in alert slider ... So if its too hard to move than you should get it checked at nearest service center !
Mine seems to be the opposite, it slides too easily. I constantly find myself inadvertently setting my phone to Vibrate or Silent when taking the phone out of my pocket.

I see other people have posted the problem with the stylus coming loose over time.
I also noticed today that the paint inside the ie button and to a certain extent the messaging button (the buttons above the screen) has been removed, it seems due to taking the device out of the holder all the time.
Anyone else think this is realy poor
Paul
yes i too think its a little lack-lustre.
the internet and messaging buttons logo's have both lost 90% of their paintwork.
i think it wont be too long until my keyboard becomes a little too easy to open. after all its only two little plastic notches which cause it to "snap in and out" once they have worn down a little then its gunna get ugly

Is that true ? I am going to buy one, you talkng about Qtek9100 or K-Jam or both???
i have kjam, but both are the same in terms of build
heres a cross section of the slider in action... when you pull it out the little notch "snaps" into the recess.. and the same when you close.
seeings as its just plastic i have a feeling that that will eventually wear down with use. i already think its become looser than it used to be from only having it a month
I have the qtek 9100 and do not have any oif the problems described above .... yet!!

So I've browsed around and there are plenty of screen issues, but I haven't seen the one I'm experiencing nor have I seen a solution. When I press the power button my screen comes on and turns off right away. Sometimes a few seconds after I hit the power button sometimes even longer. Most times I won't even be able to put in my security pin to unlock the phone. I see people saying Verizon will do an update soon but that isn't good enough considering I can't use the phone. I did find a loop hole to this problem. Quick start the camera with the volume down button then press the home button after the camera loads and it won't shut off by itself. I thought I'd post this method up for others having this frustration.
If this particular problem has been discussed and beaten to death then the mods can close the thread.
I've got a YouTube link but I don't have 10 posts to show you. Search for user name "vfreeza" and it is the only video I've uploaded. You'll see my first time turning the screen on was using the quick camera method and the times after is with just the power button. The screen turns off without even my hand touching the phone.
don't cover the sensor on the upper left hand side
Yup I read that too. My fingers rest at the corners of the phone and I've tried the not cover sensor thing as well, makes no difference.
Wish I could disable the sensor. I hate this problem
Sent from my LG-D802
Just a quick update. I bought a Diztronic tpu case and the moment I put it on all the problems went away. Screen acted nornal and knock works. My guess is without the case my hand is making some kind of connection it shouldn't be when I'm holding it without a case.

Did your old case hug the bezels tight? because it tends to mess with the digitizer perhaps the incipio feather case? or a plastic case of some sort? just curious im pretty sure that was your problem cause if you barely press on the screen youll notice waves in the lcd screen and since the bezels are so small on this device some cases can do that.

thats extremely odd but im glad you got it fixed!
Thanks! This case is never coming off! haha
My phone has that very problem and it's driving me insane.. i love this phone, but it truly is a hassel to use it after its been idle for awhile.. or at night... hands no where near the sensor or anything, it could be laying straight up or down n itll still have that problem.. thanks for reading.
I normally just wipe the sensor area, n it magically starts working again.. n i don't touch it, n the problem comes back after awhile....
Also naked phone besides screen protector, but it's not covering up the sensor.
My phone does the same thing. It's so ****ing annoying.
Hey Guys,
So it seems that the Compact Z5 is in stock on GiffGaff's website and from past experience they only list something in stock when they actually have it and is ready to ship!
Also I have been told that O2 also have it in stock.
https://www.giffgaff.com/sony/sony-xperia-z5-compact/phone-details
Here's to hoping the regular Z5 follows suit.
perfect
I got mine delivered today.
Coming from an LG G3, I have to say the phone feels weirdly long and narrow but the feel of it is soooo much nicer than the plastic G3.
Handtec told me today that they should receive it next week. Let's hope it is earlier rather than later.
How is the performance compared to the g3? Does the Z5 stutter while scrolling at all?

As you'd imagine with a smaller screen and a better cpu, there's been no stuttering at all.
I do have some issues though
1. The physical camera button and volume buttons being at the bottom of the phone are a nuisance when trying to pull the phone out of a pocket - invariably you either end up activating the camera or messing with your volume
2. Might be related to the above but somehow my camera flash ended up stuck ON and it would only stop being on once I'd rebooted. Goodness knows how long it had been on.
So now I'm training myself to pull the phone out of my pocket by pinching it between the front and back but that has already led to one case of pocket dialling
That'll not be an issue when my Style Cover case arrives, tbf.
One thing I LOVE though is the fact the screen seems incredibly smear resistant! Hate smears :silly:

Sounds great! Can't wait to get mine.
1. Yeah that sounds really annoying, it does look like they put the volume keys way too low. They should have put them at the top.
2. Wow that's strange. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
Doesn't the phone being locked prevent that pocket dial from happening? Or did you unlock it while grabbing it too lol?
Yeah smears are the worst so that's good to hear!

I have a lockscreen set (PIN) but there are shortcuts on the lockscreen - one for dialler, one for unlock and one for camera. If you swipe the dialler it opens your contact list - the person I pocket dialled was the very first person on my contact list.
I can only assume pinching the screen between finger and thumb somehow swiped the dialler then tapped the contact entry for this person. It hasn't happened since and having a case should prevent it.

I am 100% stock no fooling around yet (hotspot is my must have) surprisingly it works right from Sprint store! I have an issue with my cheekbone hitting the mute button 75%of time I answer calls. Took me a while to figure it out. I thought it was a phone issue initially till I noticed it was white which means on. Any thought on solution? Sucks having to be aware of it ever time I answer now, instead of just you know the thing going dark a moment before contact is made! Thx for reading hopefully

I thought I was the only one with this issue haha
I had it with my oneplus 3T as well.
This might not be the issue in your case but I found I just hold the phone oddly under normal circumstances.
I diddnt realize it but I hold it a bit off center on my left ear causing the proximity sensor to miss me.
this turns the screen on and like you I end up muting it most of the time.
I figured it out by taking it off my ear while on a call and using my hand to cover the sensor. (it turned off the screen right away as it should)
then I just experimented with placement until I realized what was happening.
it diddnt happen with other phones I had but I realized they all had smaller screens so it wasn't as easy to hold them off center without noticing.
I found I can consciously move the phone center and see the screen go off out of the corner of my eye.
unfortunately that's a bit more focus than I like to put on it so I usually just end up hitting the power button while on a call which turns off the screen and it wont come back on until you manually turn it back on.
on a side note I used to have a cheap nokia windows phone that was inexpensive enough they did without the proximity sensor.
Instead they had it so when a large enough area of the screen was touched it would turn off.
single touches kept the screen on so you can still pull it away and mute or put it on speaker etc.
I kinda wish more companies would do that instead of the proximity sensor, but I think I'm in the minority as you are the only other person I've heard say they have that issue as well.
Ha, I'm not alone! Thanks for the tip, I will do some fooling around and see if maybe I'm holding at funny angle. I have been rooting since my first smartphone (HTC Evo 3d) for hotspot consequently. Seems even back then, especially on HTC phones the proximity sensor was a problem so I'm surprised I was clueless for as long as I was. That was a total bug tho. I would be talking to someone and open 4 apps and turn on airplane mode, take a screenshot, I even composed an email of gibberish and sent it to my son because the screen would not shut off Who knows, it was less than optimal. This is not a bug it seems either as you astutely pointed out I may be bringing it to my ear oddly enough to hit it before the sensor senses, ha. OR it is a hair slow. Who knows could be worse I could have a Samsung or Apple HA!
For anyone that's having a problem with their s-pen such as needing to press harder on the screen just for it to register or work to scroll etc etc take the s-pen out of the phone and hold it in your hand at the top near the clicker and take your other hand and FLICK it (kind of like if you were going to flick the back of someones ear, lol) pretty good a couple of times at the bottom near the TIP and then try to see if the sensitivity changes back to the way its supposed to be like on the older Notes.. It has something to do with the spring or something in there and if you flick it a few times pretty hard it fixes the spring holding the s-pen tip and then it'll work like a charm! Obviously don't try to flick it hard enough to break it people!
Thanks a ton. This worked for me. You are awesom man.
But is this a permanent fix or will I have to keep flicking the top part frequently?

So far it seems to be permanent to me but if it ever does it again it's just a simple flick so not really a big deal.. However if it does keep on doing it I would go to Samsungs website and request a new one because that's what I did Friday and they're sending me a brand new one free of charge.. The only reason I figured it out was because I started taping it on the desk while I was on the phone unconsciously doing it and then I needed to do something on the screen and I suddenly noticed it was fixed and I no longer had to press harder directly after taping it on my desk, hahaha!!

Is it still working out for you? Mine has been working great since I did it. It's so much better now and was driving me crazy when I had to push so hard and it would still skip off like I took it off the screen when I didn't.

That's not the problem we were having ours was that we had to use too much pressure to get the pen to work and now I barely have to touch put any pressure at all before I would literally have to push the tip down pretty good for it to work and now I don't have to at all. But your suggestion might help someone else though.

I have the same problem. I barely touch anything and it's launching apps and what ever I touch. It's not just the S-Pen, but my finger too.

Go into settings and then display and check and see what your settings are set to for "accidental touch protection and touch sensitivity" that might help.. Also you need to make sure one of your hands is not accidentally on the screen wherever you're holding the phone at.

"accidental touch protection and touch sensitivity" is on - that's one of the things I always check when setting up the phone. No I'm not holding the phone wrong, it happens when I use the S-Pen or my finger.

Not sure then I don't seem to have that problem. Maybe someone else will know.
Hey I was wondering why the s pen isn't working as smooth as my note 10+
I still don't get what you did to fix it
