I want to unlock my moto g 1sr gen's bootloader......
I have android SDK latest version....
All latest drivers installed... From official website and as the official guide suggested...
I have USB Debugging on....
When I plug in my device my PC does read my phone......in all modes of debugging....
But when I open command prompt and type adb devices it gives the output as
List of devices:
And its empty....
Also when I put my device into fastboot and type the get unlock data command
It says
<waiting for device>
And it never ends ....
I have to manually close it...
Is there a toolkit which would unlock my bootloader or unlock bootloader and also root it?
The for your help....I m using windows vista with latest updates installed as I updated it yesterday.....
I have attached a screenshot
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Free mobile app
Try going to device manager in Windows, then make sure the driver for your phone that Windows is using is the Motorola driver not the windows driver. If it's still using the windows driver like I suspect, unintelligible it and rerun the Motorola driver program in repair mode.

U have to send an email to the huawei to take the code the site doesn't work
Try to connect the phone in the computer, open device manager, search if the phone is detected, if yes right click on the phone and uninstall driver, then unplug and plug again the USB cable.
I want to unlock my bootloader of moto g4 plus but there is many hurdles which I face.
First I switch on USB debugging and OEM unlocking ,then I installed minimal adb and fast boot.exe setup and move folder to c directory, than I connect my mobile in bootloader mode and login to Motorola page and download moto device manager ,than I go to minimal adb/fast boot folder and click shift+ right click and open command prompt and type fast boot devices but I show one comment,<where my device> now what to do?

I recommend to follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...de-root-moto-g4-plus-supersu-android-t3587918
When your device isn't recognized by your pc you need to check if any firewall, antivirus or the driver signature verification prevents your device from being recognized. Also make sure that you reboot your pc after the installation of the Motorola drivers.
Thanks man !! But in thread which you send is not help me untill I unlock my phone.

Sure, in the first step: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a otherwise please explain where you stuck when it's not the drivers?
In folder called mfastboot I click shift+ right click for open command prompt window.at this time my phone is connected with PC in bootloader mode and I installed moto device manager from moto website.
According to step 3( for unlocking bootloader in moto website) I type in command prompt fastboot oem get_unlock_data and press enter but I found this-<waiting for device>.
So, what can I do???

Type "fastboot devices" when connected to the PC. If it shows your serial number of your phone then ok. If not, problems I mentioned before should be checked at your end.
I enter fastboot devices and again it shown <where my device> ,I reboot PC and also check but again it shown <where my device>.
My friend suggest that Motorola driver not installed properly ,so uninstall it first and install again ,and go to device manager and if yellow mark is shown then definitely driver is not installed ,but he not give any further information about it , because he didn't know. It shows , fastboot Athens 16_mps with yellow mark in device manager .

Have you checked firewall and antivirus to be disabled?
You can also provide the whole console output here to get better overview of your errors :good:
Actually I don't have PC / laptop ,so for unlocking bootloader I was go to my friend' home and use laptop of him and there is disable firewall as you mentioned.
So ,now I am at my home ,so actually I can't show you actual process of laptop ,I was telling you what is happening to me ,if any solution is find then I will go to his house ,and process unlocking bootloader.

Oh, nice to know...
Unless you did not provide an console output its hard to help. Additional you need to make sure that "fastboot devices" displays the serial number, if it doesn't, you need to check firewall, driver signature verification, antivirus etc etc on the PC of your friend.
It's a common problem and the things to check by your end are the same and everything I've seen and read it's cause of the mentioned problems. Maybe your friend has something wrong configured or whatever.

In addition to strongst's helpful replies which I concur with (device signature enforcement on Windows 10 is a common issue, as it may stop you from installing the fastboot driver, and thus your device won't be loaded. Disable driver enforcement if you can and it doesn't void the laptop warranty), are you using the original Motorola USB cable or a high quality USB data cable? Also, try another USB port if you can.
For information, I've attached the Device Manager screenshot of my device, booted into the bootloader, and connected via the original USB cable to a USB 2.0 port. You'll note it's loaded as an Android Device via the Motorola ADB Interface (from the Motorola Device Manager software https://motorola-global-en-roe.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/89881 ). Your device, loaded as fastboot athene_16mp suggests it's a driver issue.
Furthermore, if you want to unlock your bootloader, you'll need a computer to flash TWRP and may be useful having a computer around for troubleshooting/reverting back to stock Motorola firmware.
Just for curiosity sake I hope you changed the connection from charging to file transfer and switched on usb debugging. Cuz otherwise all what is needed already said by others. :/
Whenever I go to my friend's house and use his laptop to unlock my bootloader I will give you screen shot of display which causes problem for me to unlock my bootloader, thanks sir!!!!! And how to know that any anti virus ,firewall and other things you mentioned is stop me to install moto drivers?

Tutorials for disabling driver enforcement can be found through a Google search (e.g. here's a link : https://www.drivethelife.com/window...e-enforcement-on-windows-10-8-7-xp-vista.html ) Of course, ask your friend before attempting this, as this allows you and anyone else to install and run unsigned drivers (including the fastboot drivers).
Okk thanks bro
So it is a safe driver(moto device manager)? Because if my friend ask me !!

Hi everyone,
I would like to thank everyone that responds ahead of time.
I recently picked up my ph-1 during the recent amazon sale. Currently I am experiencing some issues trying to unlock the bootloader. I would like to preface my situation by saying I'm not new to the rooting/custom rom scene and do have a rudimentary understanding of adb/fastboot.
As the title states, I am currently on Android Pie with my build number being 091. I have tried the process on 3 computers and switched usb ports to verify. I also bought a usb a to usb c cable from amazon. I have installed the essential phone windows drivers and the most current version of minimal adb and fastboot.
I have followed the guide here . I encountered some issues with getting the phone to be recognized by "adb devices" and "fastboot devices", but this was rectified by putting the phone in usb tethering mode and using "fastboot devices -i 0x2e17" in adb and fastboot mode respectively. The issue I am encountering takes place when I run "fastboot -i 0x2e17 flashing unlock" I get a long page of text that essentially that gives parameters to apply a correct form of code. Essentially, the phone does not respond to the command and does not show the "unlock bootloader" screen.
I don't have an image of the text that comes up after pushing the "fastboot -i 0x2e17 flashing unlock" command, but I can upload one later.
If anyone can be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.
I want to assume that you have OEM unlocking enable under developer options right?

Yes sir I do. I have OEM unlocking enabled and usb debugging enabled. However, I am only able to get the device to be recognized by my computer when i set the debugging mode to "usb tethering". Not sure if that helps at all.

Right on, thanks for the help anyway.
I tried minimal on another pc (not my usual one) and had lots of issues with the PH1. I didn't have time to explore them properly, to find a fix.
I suggest taking the full latest ADB/fastboot from Google ( selecting only what you need).
Have you tried these? https://support.essential.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015512088-Windows-Drivers-for-Essential-Phone

You also need to unlock_critical.
fastboot flashing unlock_critical

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to update you all.
As TJSteveMX suggested, I believe he was correct in his diagnosis that I had incorrect drivers.
I attempted the unlock and rooting procedure on a different computer that had no previous adb/fastboot installation or any other device drivers on there and was able to complete the process.
Thanks so much for the help!
try using windows powershell. And also use the CMD PMT ./fastboot flashing unlock,,,, once it's done then do it again after restart but then enter ./fastboot flashing unlock_critical i just did this 10 min ago no issue except i didn't need the ./ mine ran normally through powershell.
So I've been messing with android devices for years now and have never ran into this issue. I'm looking to root my new Oneplus 6t, but can't seem to get ADB to recognize the devices. Here are the details....
-Mac OSX Mojave
-USB Debugging on in Dev options
-Tried Clearing the USB authorizations
-Using stock Oneplus cable, but have tried multiple others
-My old Galaxy s8 connects with no issues.
In PTP mode the device will not prompt to authorize the PC, but if I switch to MIDI or USB Tethering it comes up almost instantly. I've updated my android SDK and installed the newest version of Android Studio.
Also, I'm able to access the device via Fastboot and was able to unlock the boot loader, but I'm stuck from here.
Any ideas?
I'm in the same exact boat. Computer recognizes it when it's booted, but once I'm in the bootloader I get nothing but fastboot. I'm using Windows 10

When you're on bootloader only fastboot works. That's working as intended.
I was wondering about that. I've been on Samsung phones the last few years so I'm pretty rusty with these things. But all the guides say to check fastboot and adb before flashing the temp twrp. Didn't want to do it if something was wrong

Not quite as I'm attempting to use adb as the phone is in the os not the bootloader.
Also, this was purchased directly from OnePlus.

Drivers aren't required for Mac os.
You probably need a newer adb version. Get the latest mac platform-tools here: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip
