Hello everyone there, I need your help because whenever I try to install a custom rom on my redmi 3s I have a boot loop and I have to solve that by flashing stock rom using MiFlash.
Please help me. I tried installing lineageos 13, 14.1 15 and aosp extended and another 2-3 Roms but Everytime there is bootlooping.
I succeeded in installing lineageos 15 few weeks ago but since that I could never install a rom.
If I install, either it bootloops or encryption unsuccessful error comes.

what do you mean the "best"?
each rom has positives and negatives.
try out each of them.
"best" is subjective, unless you tell us WHAT you're looking for.
Good battery and performance in games at least the same as miui
both are inversely related.
HOWEVER, you can research and get a kernel that can give high performance (and low battery life) during games, and long battery life (and normal performance) while doing normal tasks.

Hello!
Every custom rom I try to use in my redmi 2 pro 2014819 (prime in USA, pro in Brazil) shows random restarts, usually when the screen is off.
I have tried to use different bootloaders (miui KK and miui LP), different versions of TWRP (2.8.7.2 and 3.0.2.0), remove the sd card, different ways to flash, change the Linux from permissive to enforcing, disable the kernel panic , Different roms (the only one that did not restart in 4 days was CrDroid 4.4.4); And all led to random restarts.
I have already tested RR mm, RR N, Cyanogenmod, LineageOS, TeslaN, Tesla MM, AOSP Extended, Dirty Unicorns, AOSIP, Mokee 6, Mokee 7.1, among others, and unfortunately all presented the same problem.
I would be very grateful if anyone could help me; I believe that the problem is not in the process of flashing, but everything is possible.
Thanks in advance!

I tried to flash, but reboots continued to occur; The only change that occurred was that I could not get into twrp anymore, I will restore via fastboot and reinstall. Not put in the roms thread as it happens with all, and I believe it to be some problem on the device chip, twrp or something.
You should try the Jerrica Cosmos Kernel on RR or Mokee Rom.
i have a question about the custom rom
why this roms have random reboot ? any solution? probed on resurrection remix, lineageos even in the most stable rom aosp extended and i have random reboot that i think caused the wifi, on any wifi that i conect mi redmi 2 prime with a custom rom (just on lineageos and other custom rom based on android 7, on miui work fine) have a problen with the wifi conection and this cause a random reboot or this is the i think
plz help me
pd. sorry if my english is not good
Same problem here. Even with kernel panic disabled.
My current workaround is to reflash the kernel every time the problem surfaces.
Redmi 2 also same problem. I'm using that.
And don't suggest that I flash MIUI 8 cos memory management is poor.
Hello Good Evening... Recently there has been a lot of privacy allegations against many of the mobile brands that led me into considering custom ROMs. For the last 6 years, I had been using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which had a factory unlocked bootloader and hence could flash ROMs and even fix bootloops easily. I am a new Xiaomi user and am considering to change to a custom ROM. Here are the list of things I am looking forward to:
1. Details on the procedure for unlocking the bootloader
2. Custom Recovery recommendations
3.. Custom ROM suggestions and how to get out of a bootloop if I get stuck into one as this is my daily Driver'
4. I really loved the battery life that I was getting with MIUI 11, is there any way to get the same while using custom ROMs, any custom kernel suggestions for PE Rom as I am familiar with it on my old Note 3
Thanks a lot for your valuable time
Regards
Sunil
Hey,
In order for you to unlock the bootloader, you will need to download the xiaomi unlock tool from their website. You might need to wait a couple of days after you press the "unlock" button to get your device unlocked but after that you are good to go.
For Custom Recovery, both TWRP and OrangeFox are viable options.
I haven't experienced any bootloops so far (fortunately) so I can't give you any tips about that topic.
About Custom ROMs I've tried Pixel Experience with Android 10 and I liked it. Google Apps are installed with the rom so you don't need to worry about that and the battery life as more or less the same as the one I was getting with Miui 11. Currently I'm using Lineage OS with Android 10 and the software is nice and battery liffe is better than the one on the Pixel Experience. I ran into some issues because of the Google Apps installation. My device must have a issue with the Pixel Setup Wizard but it crashes every time during the setup process. The only google apps package I was able to install with success was the BitGApps.
Hope some of this information was helpful ?
Can someone comment on Havoc 3.6 vs Lineage 17.1 concerning Battery Life? I am on Havoc 3.6 now and I noticed a considerable drainage difference lately. I checked apps and running services. I saw also this today which confused me a bit.

First give some info about Which rom or kernel you had installed, how you installed clean flashed or dirty flashed, flashed oos before flashing custom rom. Last have you followed flashing rule,p because of so many things are experiencing by people when flashing custom roms,

Hello !
Has anyone actually managed to get any custom ROM to work on a Samsung Galaxy A40 SM-A405FN/DS ?
Mine is currently running the current latest stock ROM (SM-A405FN_2_20211030045838_jg43vcqbiw_fac) downloaded with Frija and I managed to install TWRP from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-a40-teamwinrecoveryproject-3-6-x-unofficial.4364575/
However, ANY custom ROM that I try to install :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/a11-r-arm64-a40-lineageos-18-1-unofficial-by-kevios12.4335409/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/eurekaroms/files/Samsung/A40/R/lineage/
GSI
maybe others that I forgot
will either bootloop or end up with a black screen.
Looking at the following threads, I'm starting to wonder if the SM-A405FN/DS is custom-ROM-compatible at all ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/help-my-a405fn-wont-boot-any-custom-rom.4337041/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/samsung-a40-black-screen.4354421/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/galaxy-a40-infinite-loop-impossible-to-turn-on.4337343/
Im running CrDroid 7.13 without any issues with root and gapps. Many custom roms bootloop because of your newer firmware with Bit/SW REV.
Security Patch Lvl. being 4 and those custom rom were built on the older firmware with probably patch level 3. I had installed DotOS fan edition fully working like a year ago, then I tried some new custom roms, which somehow broke my system so the system couldnt start up even after reflashing original boot image, so I reflashed to the newest firmware which was working, then I tried flashing older one and it wouldnt boot, it just shows black screen with error bit/sw 3 boot 4. So you have to flah roms, whose are built on the newer bit level to boot up, the best is CrDroid and now the newest ALT-F4 version 0.0.3 from this forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-oneui-3-1-a40-alt-f4-v0-0-1-updated-2021-12-18.4373813/
I tried it myself and it is the best for this phone, it is fully debloated and pre-rooted stock rom. I also tried CrDroid 8x, everything works for me, but it fells slow and the ram is almost maxed out. I also recommend upgrading to this TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-official-twrp-for-galaxy-a40-a405fn.4025587/
The unofficial twrps had some bugs for me. I hope this helps and happy flashing!
THANK YOU for your comprehensive reply !! I'll give ALT-F4 a try as soon as I can !

Good luck!
Well, luck has not been enough: after updating TWRP to the official version, I tried yesterday to install ALT-F4 0.0.3 but got the exact same result: black screen, need to reflash the stock ROM to make it boot (even to recovery !!) again.
Would you have any other idea ?
EDIT:
I actually tried crDroid in the past, to no avail either.
