S10+ G9750 Can Change Firmware To English? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Which Firmware Can I Flash For G9750 Model S10 Plus? English Version

You've asked the question I was thinking about asking, but not sure where to put or ask it.
I'm considering buying a new S10+ (G9750) from Wonda Mobile as it's so much cheaper than in the UK, but you also get the slightly better performing device.
So I'm hoping by bumping this thread we might get an answer.

Hi,
there are only two firmwares available for the S10 plus SM-G9750 version april 2019:
- One from China with usless chinese stuff and no Google stuff intended for chinese users: Version: G9750ZCU1ASD4 (ZCU is the chinese version code and CSC is CHC).
- The other one from Hong Kong with Google stuff and intended for international users (Much more langages available at start-up but the very first one will be chinese when the cell phone starts after a factory restet) Version: G9750ZHU1ASD4 (Be sure to have ZHU in the code and CSC is TGY)
So for international users, the only option will be the ZHU firmware version and if you buy it from Canada or England for exemple, sellers are supposed to ship you the Hong-Kong version.
I'm from Canada, I bought it in Canaba and I have tested both firmwares with Magisk.

By the way, you are welcome.

I've just created an account to thank you for the info! I was about to flash mine to the Chinese version thinking it was better!!!!

As I said above : No Google stuff.
I would like to inform you that with the Chinese firmware, the phone doesn't behave normally: None of the app runs in background so you have to modify that in the settings. if not none of the widgets will work for example.
Samsung pay is pre-installed and there is an annoying white bar at the bottom of the phone (in the navigation bar). you can get rid of it with titanium backup.
As I said, if you are not Chinese, don't use this firmware. If you want to install it, you'll have to download the play store apk.

Does the white bar appear on just the Chinese version or both HK and Chinese versions?
TIA

Just the Chinese version.

Note that you can easily swap between two versions of the firmware, so it doesn't really matter which one the phone is shipped with if buying from Ebay or similar.
And just to echo @oceliome's post — G9750 is a dual-sim version with Snapdragon processor (as opposed to Exynos for dual-sim versions in Europe and elsewhere), so you cannot flash firmware from other dual-sim versions of G975FD.

Almost two months and no updates. It's really unbelievable.

Well from what I am reading here, I'm not going to be buying a new S10 series phone.
I'm not going to buy an inferior Exynos powered one and I'm not prepared to buy a Snapdragon one either which doesn't work with Google Pay or PayPal with 100% reliability and now seemingly isn't receiving any firmware updates.
I've also received reports from my friends that there are significant issues with the Bluetooth connectivity to VW/Audi group cars infotainment systems which seem to prevent you making and taking handsfree phone calls and using Android Auto as well.
I'll be watching the market for something else which meets my requirements.

Can I change my S10 plus version from G9750ZCU2ASG7 (China) to G9750ZHU2ASG7(Hong Ko
Hi I bought an S10 plus from China with no Google apps. I manually downloaded it but I want Google apps installed as system apps because I'm having issues with my Google assistant. Can I change my Chinese version to Hong Kong version because they are similar if I'm not mistaken. The reason I want to do this so that I can get Google apps preinstalled as system apps.
If I can do this, how do I do it and also do I lose my data on my phone? Also will Google apps now be system apps on my phone.
Thanks in advance.

Reckon the firmware is interchangeable because the same hardware on both variants, I have G9750 (the China mainland one) myself and use Google's bells and whistles but not so much of the Google assistant though (currently located in China mainland) can't be all the time connected to the VPN

The latest firmware for Hong Kong devices (CSC TGY) has English Language Support, all that needs to be done is change the language in settings after startup. You'll have access to Google Playstore, Samsung Pay and many other apps. It also lacks the bloatware associated with carrier branded devices and the bootloader is unlocked which allows you to root the device.

[Q] Can i flash a non-chinese firmware?

My machine is chinese version GT 7.7
It looks like that some people met problems when they flashing other country's firmware on their chinese version 7.7
Does it mean that i can't flash other firmware by now?
Chinese brand
Hi,
I also have the same question.
I am new to android - coming from many years on iPhones.
I just got a 7.7 (From the Taobao Samsung shop here in China, they had a trail version program where 300 people can pay a deposit and then use the tablet for 30 days and return it)
I want to know if the Chinese version is also able to flash to the Hong Kong version as this Chinese version is really a mess - no android market, no google access and a lot of stock Chinese software. (and I think a few monitoring things a well???)
Anyway - I have read most of the post on the 7.7 and it seems that there are some people who have had a hard time flashing the Chinese version? (It also seems to me like they might just have run into some problems)
As far as I understand, coming from a server admin background, this should be really basic and should be easy to do?? One should be able to flash any countries firmware onto any version?
Please let me know.
PS...I have the 16GB 3G version

[Q] Flash other region official rom on Chinese GN3

Hello guys,
I live in China and I'd like to buy a Note 3, therefore, there's only following versions available here: N9002/6/8/9
I used to have a Note 2, Chinese version too, which was impossible to flash through Samsung's standard tool and once I bruteforced the flash with other tools, I detroyed the phone (couldnt receive signal anymore and be recovered) because Samsung's phones in China have a different modems and bootloaders specific to China).
Currently, not so many custom firwmwares are available for the Note 3 but in the future, I'd like to use them. Knowing Chinese models might be different, do you know if I'll have the same issues as with my Note 2, meaning:
- not being able to flash other region firmwares (Chinese version doesnt have Play store and you cannot install anything like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or other famous foreign apps and that's ****ing annoying)
- not being able to flash custom roms for popular versions like N900 or N9005
Thanks
N9006 - Note3 - Chinese One
I've got my Note 3 - SM-N9006, couple weeks ago and try to root with Root de la Vega to get rid of the problems that you thought.
But failed now.
Trying to figure it out to bring the phone back.
So, think 2 more time to buy a Chinese Note 3.
Regards,
@op dont tinker too much.. Its possible to root without much hassle。。n9002 is the china unicom branded one/ n9006 is unbranded SD800 but 16gb/ n9008 is china mobile (keep in mind they have their own 3g band) / n9009 is china telecom(cdma)
@navalarcitect .. You forgot to to switch that "reactivation lock" to off in settings... Do that and try again...It would be succesful..
I've have had s2 s3 and s4 all made in china for the chinese markets rooted and using international firmwares enjoying all the google goodies china strips off.
For note 3 i went for exynos because it offers 32gb against the SD800 which is 16gb in China and HK.. Cheers
Buy the HK version at any of the phone markets of your choice
I think the short answer is DON'T BUY THE CHINA version, unless you have unlimited time to play/tinker with it in the hope that you might be able to internationalize it... Note tha 99% of the people making roms and modding the Chinese version are Chinese, who won't care about English/play store etc... so even if you do see ROMs most of them will be made for Chinese. Also, even if you do get it working, no more android updates for you...
The even shorter answer is, buy a HK version from any of the phone markets... In Shanghai there are many and they all have HK versions (often same price or cheaper than the China version as smuggled in without 5% import tax and 17% sales tax). You can tell pretty easy what model the phone is, and they're used to laowei (and many ABCs, etc.) wanting the international version.
What would be GREAT would be if the dual sim version was available in International. In the past it was only available as the China version. I really need a dual sim as I travel so much, but am just too scared/nervous and lacking in time and knowledge to buy the China version and try to root/internationalize....Am keeping an eye out for this, but not holding my breath as Samsung never did a dual sim N2 and you have to assume carriers hate them...

@hatnim, II'd like to buy my Note 3 with a subcription to reduce its price but 'd like to stay away from China Unicom as they have crap netwrok coverage, I moved to them 1 year ago to finally have 3G on my iphone but I really regret it. From what I understood the 3G Chinese network can also be used in other regions of the world can't it?
How did you manage to internationalize it since there is not yet a Chinese version of the SM-N9005? If you have a SM-N9002 or SM-N9008, they should not be compatible with international roms (at least that was not the case with Note 2, in my case, I had to purchase the N7100 Chinese version to be able to use it with internatiol roms).
Additional question: tt seems you have the Exynos version but it's still not out in China if I'm not wrong. Where did you get it?

Well subscription with china mobile is good but you cant use 3g or higher when outside china ..you would be stuck on 2g.. they have their own homemade 3g spectrum or something.. if that isnt a bother you can go for that.
The chinese version n9006(sd800) is different from the normal n9005.. to get playstore and other google stuffs stripped off , you would have to install the hk version or taiwan version(roms that start with zs)..hk/tw is not restricted like mainland..
Yeah i did buy exynos because the sd800(n9006) they were offering here was 16gb and had no lte compared to the n9005.. so i got the exynos 32gb for 600rmb cheaper and its from hk or other place..

+1 for your support Hatnim! I think I'll go for the international version. But one last question since you seem to know a lot about chinese band. Do you think if the International version will receive China Mobile's 3G and HSPA+ signal?
Btw, for how much did you pruchase your Exynos version?
I got it for aprox. 3550RMB online (i guess you know of taobao, .and here is the catch, if you have a chinese friend with CC you can have it on installment plan, like mine is roughly 310 x 12months)..
And sadly no to your other question.. China Mobiles 3G (TD-SCDMA) is home made and i havent heard of any other carrier using it... Your only bet would be Unicom which uses W-CDMA ...I know Unicom really sucks..
Note 3 is no problem!
Hi,
I have a N9002 for about 1 Week now and it´s working good!
It took me only about 3h to root, install Google apps including PlayStore, and the Nexus Keyboard to get more languages.
All you need you can find at XDA!
I took the N9002 because I need dual Sim AND need to run it all around Asia and Europe.
For the dual sim version you will find nearly no custom roms, but that´s not neccessary for root, Google Apps and Keyboard!
Only the China Unicom Version works in Europe and most Asian countries!!!!!
I don´t know why you had so much problems with the Note 2?
I had the Note 2 (also dual Sim version from China Unicom) for around one year and it worked perfect. Also rooted and injected Google Apps and Nexus keyboard.

Close to impossible with a Chinese phone, the Government mandates a locked bootloader where a major part of their surveillance mechanism is located, go to Hong Kong where the phones are open.

You can still root the device, will trigger knox, but if you're overseas it won't matter much. Once rooted, you can install Google apps, facebook and even youtube. I have done it on my 9002. Works fine. Gmail, Contacts, Calender and G+ to name a few.....oh yeah and Play Store, which works great, can select stuff on my pc and have it sent and installed on my Note 3 with NO PROBS!!
You can flash anything, you just have to be careful because there are 2 types of N3 out. One has 16gb and the other 32gb memory. This results in different size partitions for the different system directories. That's why so many people wind up with bricked phones.....technically it's because the PIT is different. (Partition Information Table).
As for the surveillance mech, I am skeptical that the Chinese Gov would mandate a locked bootloader, do you have any evidence?

Your phone KNOX is still 0x0... warranty not lost... take it to samsung , they will Jtag it and it will work.
Also if you have the original rom, .PIT, pda, phone,csc... you can flash through odin with repartition ticked... however your prevent reactivation means only Samsung...
BTW, you can buy 9005 and 900 in china through HK parallel export and vendors after some bargianing, would offer a 1 year store warranty... I have 1..

You can't update firmware to American version. What you can do is to "westernize" the Chinese firmware.

Hello guys,
I have a soft-bricked N9002 and I am trying to unbrick it.
I tried to upgrade to the latest official firmware, CHU-N9002ZNUENG4-20140805155712, Android 4.4.2, through Odin but I ticked "Nand Erase All", which I think was the mistake. The phone is now bootlooping to the China Unicom splashscreen, with the mentions "RECOVERY BOOTING...Set Warranty Bit: recovery" and then vibrating twice before bootlooping again.
I am not accustomed to Samsung phones, but from what I have read on the forum, I would need to flash a PIT file to re-partition the phone.
So my question is, does anyone have such PIT file, or where can I get it?
Thanks in advance!

Chinese version does not support Google Play as of version B115

So I want to kind of start this discussion and work on a fix. Ideally a fix without root, if it's possible.
According to the Chinese forums, the Chinese version (which I'm getting because I want 128GB of storage) has been altered as of version B115 to not include the necessary GMS framework to allow installation of google services, play store, and so on.
Previous versions (some Chinese models shipped with B109) included the ability to load Google Services.
The first step in fixing this for people whose phones ship with more recent firmware is to find a full package of B109. The only other option will be bootloader unlock and flashing of either international firmware or google play services after unlocking the bootloader.
My phone will arrive here in Japan tomorrow, so I will work on reverse engineering the update server like I did with Mate 8, and keep everyone up to date with any progress. Does anyone else have plans to buy the Chinese version? Please feel free to chime in!
UPDATE!!
As of December, Huawei has released a package to install google services on the Mate 9. Simply search the HiApp store for GMS and get the first result.
Couldn't just install a international from through the update?
So your saying if I purchase this from a Chinese online mobile store I wont be able to get google play store on it im in need of a new phone so bad and wanted this

You will be able to get Google Play store on it IF your phone ships with version B109 or earlier. Apparently this is rare. Otherwise, you will not be able to without unlocking your bootloader, at this time. My phone is supposed to arrive today, so I will be a guinea pig and figure out what needs to be done, as obviously it's useless to me without Google Play.

That's the 128 version as well?

Good! We work together again, like the old days!
Do you have the international one now? Can you use wireshark and find out the http query from eRecovery to get the location to the latest firmware?
For example, you can get latest Mate 8 AL10 firmware like this:
Code:
curl -d '{"rules":{"D_version":"","DeviceName":"HUAWEI NXT-AL10","saleinfo":"||||||||N","IMEI":"","FingerPrint":"","FirmWare":"HUAWEI NXT-AL10-all-cn","IMSI":"","C_version":"","OS":"","HotaVersion":"e.0.1","Language":"","devicetoken":"","PackageType":"full"}}' http://query.hicloud.com:80/sp_ard_common/v2/Check.action?latest=True

The pleasure is mine!
I also bought same version. Do you currently have European version in your hands? I think it might be possible to use some tricks to write European firmware onto Chinese version.

Now this is very confusing. I ordered the 4/64GB version from aliexpress. All of the descriptions (of all sellers) on ali clearly highlights all the network features and bands that are only supported by the european model of Mate9, called "MHA-L29". Huawei's official specs clearly say MHA-L29 is dual-sim supported and MHA-L09 (=chinese version) is not.
I asked the seller and after 3-4 questions he finally replied it's the chinese version (of course) but tried to convince me that it will work with google play because every huawei phone they sell can work with play.
I can't risk it to have a phone that I have to mod to use play, and I can't expect the firmware updates easily without any problem/risk.
I cancelled the order, asked a few other sellers they all have the chinese version. It seems I can't get the european version with a lower price I have to wait till the phone launches here, and it will be much more expensive.
What is your opinion how difficult will it be to update the firmware with sufficient google services by tricks on the chinese models? Would you recommend it to a noob like me(I unlocked bootloaders and stuff but I can only follow specific directions) to have the chinese model backed by a worthless warranty?

Chinese version is not MHA-L09. It's MHA-AL00.

I think it will be possible to do with specific directions, probably within a month -- hopefully sooner. I also think it's possible that Huawei re-introduces the ability to install Google services into a future update, because the outcry from the Chinese community is huge.
Once I find the way to do it, I will make as easy-to-follow guide as I can, but I can't promise anything! It might be very difficult if it's too different from the Mate 8.
My advice to you is to wait until a solution has been found before buying the Chinese version.

Thanks, I'm gonna wait a little more then. I cancelled my order before shipment so they must refund me without any problem. There will be a 130-150 USD difference comparing the chinese version to prices in my country. I'm hesitating to either wait for this phone or buy the OnePlus 3T on the 28th of november, but I really like the Mate9.
A best solution could be to completely trasform chinese into european. With european rom, european modem and other features like sar reduction : do you remember that mate 8 EU had a string "sar reduction yes" that in chinese there wasn't?
Do you think that is possibile to convert At 100% chinese in european? (with unlock bootloader)
We can work At this?

Customs delayed my phone's delivery to Monday, so I can't really say without looking at how it works, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't be possible to convert the Chinese version to the european one as long as we have an unlocked bootloader or root.

No solution yet. I will be working on it once my phone arrives, though!

replace Korean Samsung S8 (SM-G950N) stock ROM with another one from Spain.

Hi All,
Please excuse me in case this was already adressed in other post.
Case: I bought in South Korea a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950N) Exynos version. Im very happy with the phone but there are a few diferences between this one and the spanish version of the phone. For example, since in Korea apparently is not legal to silence the shutter of the camera there is no option in the phone to remove this sound. Other things are for example the apps that by default are installed in the phone. In my case the carrier is KT and I have a ton of apps that I cannot use or Im not interested.
Questions:
Q1.- Is there a possibility to install the samsung stock rom for the S8 clean (from Spain for example) and get rid of all this crap and at the same time maintain all warranty and Updates as any other "not modified" phone?
Q2.- Will the software change once i insert the SIM car from my spanish carrier showing me option available in the S8 spanish software version that i cannot see now from the Korean version?
Q3.- can I use a baseband from any other carrier and if not is there compatible basebands with my phone?
any help will be much appreciated.
thanks in advance.

I have a Korean phone (g950N) and have done everything that you want to it EXCEPT my warranty is void. Initially, I rooted the phone and flashed a different stock ROM. Since then, I've flashed a custom ROM (Renovate-ice) as it gives me far more options and flexibility. During the installation, you can choose the country you want and it will add all the relevant software and frequencies etc.

AFAIK you will not get to the result you want, as long as you don't want to void your warranty (knox 0x1).
Flashing a g950F Firmware on a g950N device will lead to a not booting phone.

Also, no. Your CSC won't change when inserting a different SIM.
As to the third question, I can't answer.
But if you would be willing to void your warranty, you of course can change the csc to a spain one, get all the spain carrier bloatware and can deactivate the shutter sound.
voLTE ISSUE
I am facing a similar problem.
i bought a galaxy s8 (SM-G950n) from south korea. But here, in india, i can't use voLTE. i can use LTE and other band at ease except voLTE. Then googled and found that indian csc code installation may help. But the problem is that the phone i have is single sim and the indian model has dual sim. If i flash the indian stock rom will it brick? If it bricks i can't gp back to south korea to resolve that. i contacted the korean samsung service but their help didn't work.
Give me a strong solution.

(SKU) Build Number Info for India

Hi,
My query is:
- is the sku (build number) details for devices sold in india 'ww' ? I have read it means worldwide or is it something different? If its not 'ww' & say for example it's 'jp' or 'cn', etc can you please explain the implications of using the device in a country other than India if any?
- if a device is purchased from india and its 'ww', will I be able to receive ota updates once they released when in another country or do I need to be in india to receive the updates or need an active Indian sim card to be in place?
- is the google play store set for india region on the devices or can I change it to suit my country during setup?
Thanks

1) AFAIK, the Indian version has WW SKU. If you bought an imported set (eg: from AliExpress), usually they will provide you CN version/TW version. Usually, WW version will get updates from ASUS first. There are no disadvantages when you use WW version in any country.
2) You will receive OTA anytime/anywhere. You don't have to worry about this.
3) Usually, Play Store region is based on your Google Account. To change the region, simply change it in Google settings.

Thanks for the response, I did some research online from an Indian retailer and it had this model number in the description:
Model Number - ZE520KL-1A035IN
Does the IN at the end mean anything as ''CN/TW'' or is it ''WW'' regardless for the Indian market region? Reason I'm looking for ''WW'' is because even though ASUS devices are not sold in my country I can still receive Global updates & keep the device up to date.
In terms of the Play store, I read online that for sometimes manufactures setup Play store for that particular region, Indian market in this case and it cant be changed or users have atleast struggled to do so. From your knowledge can devices setup like that for regions be changed? Will the other supporting app's that supports Google Playstore need to be changed to so that the Playstore works as it should in the new country/region of use? (I'm not sure how many or which apps these are?) ? Hence the confusion around that.
Thanks again

Just like what I said earlier, India has WW SKU version and IIRC, it has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM (ZE520KL). You don't have to worry about the updates (you will receive it anywhere anytime) [UNLESS YOU'VE UNLOCKED THE BOOTLOADER OFFICIALLY]
There's no such thing as regional lock for Play Store. You can change Play Store region in the Google settings.
Note*: The CN SKU version DOES NOT have Google Play Store

I wont be doing any unlocking as I have no experience in modding phones lol, so thats safe. What is IIRC? To be honest you have given me answers faster than Asus India, its been 2 weeks now that I await their response, so thanks.
I'm waiting for the launch of the new zenfone 5, so with all this info gathered, I wont have a hassle when going for it
Thanks

To be honest, ZenFone 3 is still a great phone in 2018 (best bang for buck I would say).
