USB Tethering worked FINE, until last month - LG G6 Questions and Answers

So the past year I could use my LG G6 to share my Wi-Fi via USB-C to my PC. It worked fine, used the 5GHz network, my ping was stable 30ms and I could finally hit Master in OW. But the last month it stopped working. Every time I hit the switch for USB Tethering, my phone's Wi-FI just stops working (stays connected but has no Internet).
Can anyone test this?
- Already tried factory reset

Wi-fi conections and my galaxy tab

Hi again, since my last problem, that my galaxy tab did not wanted to turn on, I got a refund and waited until the machine came to my country..... months later, I could buy it at walmart, and all went fine, I got a 16GB wi-fi/3G tablet and went to a friend's house to use it, wi-fi worked well, then I bought a router, and installed it in one of my houses, and all went fine, I could even use it 20m away, then I installed it in my actual house and first it came ok, I could connect it, and worked for several days, went away and used the 3G internet, and came back and used the wi-fi because it has better speed, and it started to don't work, so I reseted the router like 3 times, each time it didn't work, then I contacted a friend of mine that works installing routers for companies, and he configured mine so it had a better security and values he knows that would work better, and indeed the problem was solved... for a couple of days... now, it says connected and it does not charge the pages, or if I "forget" the network, and charge it again, internet works but it loads pages partially it does not load them completely. On my phone and laptop the internet always works, in the tablet that is the problem... so what could it be, or how could I fix it?
PD: this is really strange, because normally it happens either when I shut down the router (because it is right besides my bed and the computer (big desktop) makes noise) or when I leave the tablet in stanby for a day or so, I write this because now I just restarted the tab and internet worked as if anything had happened...
I was recently having problems with wifi also. Mine was connected to my network but I couldn't get on the internet. This happened after a few weeks of ownership with no issues. I found this article and it pertains to my issue, not sure if it will help you though. You do need a rooted device to be able to do this "fix". It worked for me though.

Ok thanks so to root it, is the method suggested in the article safe, or what could I loose with that procedure? meaning, do you know a trustfull procedure I could follow?
I had the same problem too recently...works well at my friend's place but not with my router...it seems that the tab works well with static ip and not with dynamic ip address with we people usually have...
Oh , just read that link...i was about to say the same...
There s another way...
Without root,
reset your router
go to your wifi settings
go to wifi channel
set the channel to 11 (6 or 4 works too)
these channels tend to workout the problem i heard...worth a try right...
You can try this before you root

Tethering

Hi guys, I can't seem to fix the problem.
I'm using a prepaid card and I used to share internet to my laptop using usb tethering.
Everything was working fine before until I went to the shop, paid for the next month and they changed the apn settings.
Now whenever I tether, usb or Wi-Fi, it works for like 5 minutes and then nothing, no more internet on the laptop, the tethering is still on and I can still surf the net with my phone.
I have reverted the apn to the previous settings, but it still isn't working for more than a few minutes.
If I use my gf phone it works correctly.
So I guess it's a phone or a card problem.
What's your thoughts?
Tried different combinations but it's still not working.
Works only for 5 minutes or so

Note3 thinks my home wifi is a public WiFi

Hello.
I have a Note3 N900W8. Rooted it with la Vega. One problem that started today. When I connect to my Wifi network I get the notification Sign-in to WiFi Network When I tap on it it just goes to google.com and works normally for a while and disconnects. Wifi works fine on my laptop. Any advice?

Alright. Reset my phone to factory settings and reroot. Still happens. A bit of background I have two routers. One is the main router plugged into my cable. The second one is plugged into the Ethernet in the wall and is on the same subnet. I unplugged the second way (Was overheating anyway,) and it works now. Weird. I'm switching to Telus soon so I'm getting new routers anyway.
 50mbps!

hey
i am facing the same problem of yours but i didn't get what you did to solve it
i have only one router
thank you
I flashed stock. I wiped /data and cache and restored everything and rerooted I reset the router to factory settings by doing a 30/30/30 That fixed it. This all shouldn't be necessary and I think it was the router. I feel stupid.

[Q] Nexus 4 LTE Tethering

I used to be able to get Wi-fi tethering working no problem. I've always used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/4-4-1-4-4-2-nexus-4-lte-lte-tethering-t2416822
Lately however what happens is that as soon as I connect I will have internet for a brief moment and then it stops and never works again. As an example I can start a ping to an external IP address and then hit connect on my PC. As soon as I hit connect I will get a couple of replies but then nothing. I can repeat this over and over by just reconnecting to the Wi-Fi tether

Wifi connected, no internet - Acer Liquid Z410

This has probably been posted more than once. We have 3 acer Z410 phones. Two of the phones are rooted and have a custom recovery. The two that are rooted will work on any Wi-Fi but our house Wi-Fi. The internet on the two that are rooted worked for a couple months, but then stopped. For some reason the two that are rooted will connect to Wi-Fi, the internet will work for 10 seconds and then Wi-Fi stays connected but internet cuts out. I thought maybe it was because it was rooted so I did a full unroot and factory reset but the problem persisted. The internet on the third phone (the unrooted one) works fine. I have tried doing a factory reset of the router and changing channels of the router. I also tried changing security and changing WI-FI types (B,G,N). Could a custom recovery have anything to do with this? This doesn't make any sense to me that the third works fine. Any Ideas?
I was in a same sitaution where my sisters phone were easily able to connect to the wifi and use internet but mine just connected and then the connection works fine for 5 sec and then stops. So i made a backup and factory resetted my router and then the problem was gone.
