Was just wondering, wifi is off , location and scanning is off, wifi calling off. Yet GSAM shows wifi always active. Any ideas? View attachment 4754339

I'm not sure , I'm using it on snapdragon.

Same. Probably it refers to mobile data connection.
I just deleted all stored wifi access points and it cleared up.
I'm wondering if direct share being on was the culprit. I'll check and update.

Still wifi is always on. Are there any apps or perhaps using another Samsung device which will scan to see if wifi is truly on , on my device?

I am using GSAM and seeing the same behavior. Have you been able to confirm whether wifi is really on or not?

I don't know. Sometimes it the chart does show it's off. Example , if I "forget" my wifi access points so basically device cannot auto connect or know the password of the access point then the chart shows no wifi connection.

Anyone have one of those USB Ethernet dongles to try? It would be very useful if I could have a network cable connected to my phone at work. The option is there hidden in the settings.

Thanks, I assume it might need custom kernel, I would appreciate if anyone could explain this.

What app are you using to get to this?
Quick Shortcut Maker
Any news on this front?
This would be pretty sweet, especially downloading. My speed nearly doubles from wireless to wired...
Any work on this issue ?
Heard something about a ethernet dongel being released for note pro 12.2

Oh, download bbs or gsam or any wakelock detector then. Never face that issue with rooting before.
Can you guide me how to troubleshoot?

To see which apps cause the wakelock you need wakelock detector. Better battery stats or gsam can help with that.

I see. Which kernel is this? Stock? Try to change your kernel. If that doesn't change anything then maybe others can help you solving this.
Franco kernel. I think my sms is keeping the phone awake...

Found the problem. There is a MMS keeping my phone awake. Solution:uncheck auto retrieve option in the SMS settings. Now phone is sleeping again like a baby...Thanks all for the help
Ok so I'm using cloudy g3 rom and it's great however some users report loads better battery life than me. I never hit 5 hours screen on time. During my work day I mainly just text and check Facebook. So pretty light usage. Hit a max of 4 maybe 4.5 screen on hours.
What app is best to check wakelocks? Tried wakelock detector and gsam all in root mode but the information pretty much just says Android system is keeping the phone awake and kernel or something?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
Facebook app and Facebook Messenger lead to ineffective deep sleep of the phone. If you uninstall them and use the mobile web page through the browser battery life will increase significantly.
I've noticed this so removed Facebook messenger. I'd like to keep the Facebook app I've got it to not auto update. Turned off location etc in it too. Not sure what else I can do there?
Here are some screens of GSAM.

Any update ? .. i subscribed to this thread because I'm very curious as well
Get Greenify. You can add apps that it will hibernate when screen is off. You can also manually hibernate through the app or a widget.
Edit: Also Wakelock Detector is useful. Allows you to Google certain wakelocks and has an option to add it to Greenify. System apps aren't Greenify-able unless you buy the donate version.

You're better off removing the Facebook App and keeping Messenger. Use the website or another app such as 'fast for Facebook'

I am having issues finding it too. When I go to back up area I only see my gmail account. Would someone mind posting a screen shot of were it is located?
Wait...is it this? Just doesn't say "Samsung Cloud" specifically?

No idea here. Search around for a while and came up empty.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using XDA-Developers mobile app
The workaround I found was to back up the files to your computer or whatever then delete the albums that were syncing then go back in and choose what folder you want to back up. It cleaned it up for me I have 5gb free but there's one folder that won't delete for some reason. I really wish they would've given you the option to select initially before going all willy nilly. Lol

Sounds like you've got a rogue app or service running. Find out which one(s) are running in the background.

If this problem persists Try Greenify app It shuts down background processes when you lock your phone ! Works for me
Again if it happens again and again!
