Is there a way to implement/port this feature for the OnePlus 6t? Without root?

I would imagine without root it be a slim to none chance.

Have you tried here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/patched-google-phone-dialer-28-tmo-6t-t3894178/

Last I checked this feature isn't available on any other phones even with root. I think I read somebody got it working on the essential phones, but for most other devices including ours it isn't possible yet.
The problem is with the google assistants voice being able to actually Inject into the call so that the other person can hear it.

Enabled, but the other side can not hear a thing. Just blank.

Oviboss nailed it. They've been unable to get it working on really naything but the Pixels and the essential phones. The other end of the call cannot hear the Assistant. This is, sadly, the only thing keeping me on my P2XL as my daily driver. If we could get this on the 6T, I'd be using it instead.

I had it working on Syberia rom, now on liquid it's not working.

New to Android. Need some help. Please! 7.1.1

Hello everyone. I recently switched from Iphone to Android and I am loving it so far. Bought the nexus 6p Gold over a week ago.
I am having problems with the the microphone. When I talk to someone is seems like they hear me very bad, like I am inside a submarine or very far away from the phone, which is odd because I was just holding the phone the normal way. I tested the mic on a recording app and I can hear myself very clearly. I have re searched and seems like a lot of people had/have this problem. I read something about the noise canceling thing on the back being an issue. And the best result would be to disable it. persist.audio.fluence.voicecall = put this to false or something. Anyways I was wondering if anyone can guide me through the steps on achieving this. I am running N 7.1.1, I currently have pixel launcher(loving it). I just want a simple root to get the mic working right on calls. I like the speed and design of the pixel launcher and would love to keep that and if I can get google assistant, even better if not its okay, I just want to use my phone to call people and for them to be able to hear me clearly... THANKS IN ADVANCE
I haven't had any issues with my mic but I assume you want to edit the build prop. I would use the Nexus Root Toolkit http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ and Wug has a buid prop edit tool that I like and root is not needed. If you have root on 7.0 then get a build prop tool from the app store. I would hold off on getting 7.1.1 for now. I know it's tempting but this is release 1 and I'v been seeing several issue threads and it's best let the pros work out the bugs. It won't take long before you see a full step guide for 7.1.1. Be Patient
This is a hardware problem. Exchange it ASAP.

Do you have a case or screen protector? Was it like this when you 1st got it? Did you put 7.1 on it or did it come that way? If it was me I would; take off any case or screen protector, do a clean wipe, then grab the factory 7.1, https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html and try that, no TWRP or root yet. If its still an issue, like @therock3181 said, I would think its a hardware prob.
Thanks for the reply. The phone is already in 7.1.1. Any way to downgrade? Whats your suggestion?

I don't have a screen protector. I got it on 7. On 6 it was working fine apparently, according to previous owner. Right now it is on 7.1.1. The weird this is that every voice recording app, or like messenger that i use to send voice messages works great its just in calls.

Hello. It is asking me for the current build that I am running. I don't see 7.1.1. what should I select?
Since you said to flash 7.0, I am assuming I select 7.0 Build from the list? There are 4 different 7.0 builds. Let me know
Thanks

Okay, So I was reading the options to flash stock/unroot and it says I need to be unlocked first in order to run that script. Help?
Alright, I figured out a way to go back to 7.0. I left the Android beta program and It gave me a 7.0 N download to go back. Now I am on 7.0. What do I do from here?

Can I get Google Assistant without root?

I tried out this guide for Marshmallow to get Google Assistant on my phone, but it looks like something's changed signature-wise in Nougat, because I get this error when I try to install the modded APK:
Code:
adb install -r Google/dist/Google.apk
3531 KB/s (48690418 bytes in 13.462s)
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES: Failed to collect certificates from /data/app/vmdl1063868361.tmp/base.apk: META-INF/CERT.SF indicates /data/app/vmdl1063868361.tmp/base.apk is signed using APK Signature Scheme v2, but no such signature was found. Signature stripped?]
I can't find a way to get around that, and I'm hoping maybe there's another method to get Google Assistant on my phone without root.
I have the H918, so I can root, but I'm going to be busy with school for the next few weeks, so I don't really want to wipe and risk bricking because I have to rush the process.

It's better than Siri in everything I've compared, and it's fun to use too. I enjoy it a lot on my Note 4. Is this signature verification a new thing in Nougat, since the steps seem to work fine under Marshmallow?

No, I installed the Assistant Enabler Xposed module on my Note 4. I know that they're different, and I know what the differences are.
And please stop saying it's garbage. I've used it. It works well. It does what it says it does. It has fun games, and I enjoy using it. You may not think it's worth installing, but that doesn't mean it's low quality.

Why do you hate it so much? Give me some real reasons instead of "it's bad." Allo doesn't include the games or the functionality. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I'm holding off on rooting for now, so that's not gonna work.

The thread I was following indicates otherwise. I was looking for some troubleshooting possibilities or an explanation, not a deprecation of what I enjoy using.
Well, let me put it this way.... no.
The only way I know to get it is to edit the build.prop to spoof a Pixel. That, of course, requires root. It'll also break things that are LG dependent.
In the XDA newsfeed, there have been reports that some phones are not behaving well with the mod. Those same feeds report most of what you can achieve with Assistant can be done with Google Now and Allo. I can understand someone's desire to go for those things that can't be done with either Now or Allo.
For me, it doesn't yet pass the cost/benefit test. I'm keeping an eye on things, hoping a dev can incorporate Assistant within the stock ROM without losing the LG stuff. Maybe then I'll step up to the plate.

Well I know it's possible to do. hsbadr made Google Assistant the default on CM14.1 for the Note 4, without build.prop edits. It's also possible with the Xposed module (so once we get Xposed on Nougat, it'll be simple). It's also apparently possible with the guide I've been trying to follow, but it looks like that needs root too on Nougat for some reason.

Can't do that. The hack says to copy the META-INF folder from the old APK into the new one. Resigning just gives me the different signature error.

Yes it's possible to add google assistant without root to LG V20.

Verizon wear24 any way to unlock for use with other carrier?

I just picked up a Verizon Wear24 for cheap. I'm a Project Fi user and would like to get rid of the verizon crap on the watch and link it more completely to my phone. I'm new to Android Wear but not to android. Is there a way to unlock AW and flash a more stock ROM?

The SIM actually comes out in this if you take it apart enough. You can replace with any SIM of your choosing. The real problem is that the phone is limited on bands as it is just LTE band 13. Let's say you succeeded in adding bands, you would still have an issue entering APN settings as this menu is restricted.
Without root you cannot add any bands. i did this with my tmobile lg g3 back in the day. while complicated it did work.
Has anyone rooted this watch?
Adding bands to qualcomm you must patch rmt-storage or any modifications to the bands will revert
then you have to enable APN menu as adding new APN is disabled on this firmware.
Since this watch was available at $80, a lot of people jump in to get one. Hopefully with time we get more developers to be involve. I'm looking to replace the bands. As of now I don't care about LATE. But I wish we can enable NFC for Android pay

Would be nice to have separate forum for this model
Ordered mine for $80 and received it today. It would be nice to see the developers work some magic on this thing. Don't like the fact its stuck on Verizon and all the Verizon bloat on it. I can live without LTE but would love to see the Verizon SMS app and stuff go.

Interesting approach, wonder if you can still send and receive texts with Message+ disabled?

Tried the reset but no change. Everything seems to work except the mic. Google assist also does not work for texting with ok google. Watch is solid tho.

Oreo 8.1 rom Ok Google function.

Hi
As most of us all know that oreo roms are stable and giving good results.but all roms lack Ok Google feature when screen is off.and no one seems to fix it i wonder is it because its difficult or simply because people don't find it compelling enough.
What if i wanted to fix this issue? What would be a good start in the right direction?
Also if any one knows or has info that can help please share.
Thanks

All the devs who put out such ROMs can't they just debug or know where code requires modification.??
Also do you know a coder or dev that you think has a chance of doing it.

I don't know what you think who those devs are. I did the oreo bringup for shamu, but I am a hardware developer and my software skills are very limited.
Additionally all devs do it in their free time and for fun. If a feature is not implemented or not fixed then there is a high chance that nobody is interested or able to fix it.
If you want it working then you should learn to debug and to code.

Bro i meant no disrespect to any dev who do such work, i appreciate their hard work . I also realize that they take special time to do such work.I didn't knew much about how its all done. But since you explained, i thank you.
And i think as you mentioned i will look into it myself. :good:
Today i used nokia 6.1 with Android Oreo 8.1 , i checked its assistant and to my surprise it too did not supported ok Google function with screen off.
So my guess is that its more of an Android 8.1 change , they have limited this functionality to certain phones.
This means it is not a bug, and needs some custom coding or programming/modification to make it work again .
Well i think i am isolated but i shall continue to find what ever i can and post .
I read on Reddit post of this problem and a user posted build prop trick where one tricks the Nexus 6 into thinking its a pixel device.
I tried but it didn't worked and also camera app crashed too. Voice match remains greyd out , it did how ever at first showed sign that its working but nope upon real testing it failed.
I then tried switching name to nexus 6p and it enabled one option which was previously greyd out, it allowed me to record and voice and asked for pin to use voice match but then disabled 'use ok google from any screen' option. .... and camera was not working too..
Is it the right direction? perhaps..perhaps not.
Update:
This issue is definitely from Google's server side, the voice match issue is not present on nexus 5 and nexus 7 tablet. here is a thread of ongoing discussion.

I think Google decided to ditch ok Google screen off functionality altogether from Nexus 6. There tech team never responded to the complaints mad by users. So it's kinda dead now.

I've been looking for a solution to this. I spent a weekend last month flashing various 8.1 and 7.1.X roms and trying to renable it. Same story every time. Apparently Google's just decided we don't get to use this feature anymore. I'm gonna start playing with other assistants (Cortana, Alexa, Hound, Autovoice) and see if any work like we want Assistant to.

I wish you best of luck bro . ?
Has anyone tried this on a 100% stock, unrooted device? I got Google One for being a good Local Guide, and Google Customer Support says root may cause this. I'm going to try Magisk Hide and report back.

Question: Using RCS With Other T-Mobile Phones

Hi All,
I have a OP6T and my fiance has the S8+. Technically the S8+ has the universal RCS built in now. OP6T should have it too or at least I think it does using android messages. However, I can't seem to get it to work between the two devices. I can never see the read/typing things that we usually get with the Samsung to Samsung phones.
I have tried different apps on the OP6T and nothing. I have heard other people with older OP phones having success with RCS using google messages.
Can anyone explain how to get it working or if it is even possible?
Have you tried Google Message from Play Sore? I have a feeling the built-in message doesn't support RCS.

oneplus is not supporting RCS, atleast for now.

Is this a phone/ROM thing? I thought the universal profile was on Android 8+.
Thanks for the answers, guys!
