Camera 2 api april patch MI A2 - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

this is the solution for people unable to use gcam even after setting the ```persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1``` look for ```persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled=0``` and change the 0 to 1 in the build prop. if you are doing this and dont wanna root your device then follow this guide to download and edit build prop without root
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/edit-build-prop-without-root-using-adb-in-twrp-recovery/
make sure you add the line and make the edit
bonus:
enable eis by adding ```persist.camera.eis.enable=1```

If you change anything in build.prop you will mess with future OTA updates !!!

Systemless Root change Build.Prop Possible ?

Hey guys
Is it possible to change the Build.Prop with Systemless Root somehow because I want to Screen Mirror with my Samsung Smart TV and there is every time this error that leads to no connection and therefore I need to write this line (wlan.wfd.hdcp = disable) in the Buil.prop file that works.
I used BuildProp editor and it shows as having been applied, but I still get the error trying to use Smart View.
Is a systemless root the same as using cf-autoroot?
Update: I made 2 changes to build.prop and at least one of them fixed it.
1. I removed the extra line at the end of the file
2. I changed the last line from wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable to wlan.wfd.hdcp = disable (added space before and after = )

MultiWindow in HTC Desire 820 Marshmallow

After updating my HTC desire 820 dual sim to marshmallow . I found out that marshamallw has a hidden feature of multiwindow that can be accesses by changing a line in build.prop but everytime I edit the build prop and reboot my phone the values in build prop again switches to default values.. here is what i did-
1. Install root browser and mount system with read and write permissions.
2. Open /system/build.prop and search for ro.build.type
3. Change the value from user to userdebug.
4. Reboot the system
!!!! After reboot the value again switches to user
I have tried all methods .. by adb by build prop editor apk... But no successs .. i cant see multiwindow option in developer option ...
PLEASE LOOK FOR SOLUTION ASAP...
You must have root, and s-off, I have do and have this feature now after reboot.

With xtc2clip or s-shine
Hmm... I think that if I edit build.prop, change ro.build.type and restart only Android framework it could be work.
---------EDIT:
^^ this wouldn't work. Only solution that I see is, reboot to TWRP, mount system partition, connect to pc, adb shell and modify /system/build.prop.

Can't edit build.prop file

Hey,
I've rooted my A1 using this guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRcYUMBgvaI
I have magisk 13.4 installed, and passing Root checker verification.
When I try to edit build.prop file using solid explorer or buidprop editor app I get an error, "can't save the file"
even tough both of them has been granted "superuser accesses" using magisk.
Any ideas?
On another matter, I just received November OTA, I have TWRP installed,
Will it be possible to install the update at all? in particularity will I be able to install it right after I manage to edit the build.prop file, and still "have" the edited file after the OTA in order to keep using GCAM? I don't care about root access, all I want is GCAM, and updated phone if possible.
Thanks!
You need to change ur system permission for writing!
Tip:- use es file explorer to change it
Or get the app BuildProp Editor from the playstore.
I can't get the Nov update with TWRP installed.
I think there's a magisk module to enable google camera
Build prop app and solid explorer failed changing permission. Any ideas?

Maybe you should try magisk 14.4
Everything just work like a charm in my devices, root woth magisk 14.4
Update:
I reinstalled magisk, and updated to v 14.5.
tried GCAM ports from here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-customization-raw-support/
& here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-updated-zero-shutter-lag-xiaomi/
all keep crashing. should I do something other then installing the apk and editing the build prop?
Second update:
The "enabled" keyword vs "enable" made the difference. Everything works like a charm. Picture quality is dramatically improved.
Thanks!
BTW:
Anyone has good configuration for GCAM port from here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-customization-raw-support/
I copied the configuration from post.
I believe there is a better one since the picture is size is significantly smaller (~1.7mb vs 2.5 - 3mb usually),
- Note that although the smaller size picture quality is definitely better.

Enable 60fps options on youtube videos [custom ROMs] [needs root]

In case your custom ROM doesn't let you watch 1080p/720p videos in 60fps on youtube, you can add a line to build.prop (you need root permissions and you can install an editor through play store, the one I used was "Prop-Editor" because it allowed me to add strings for free).
The line you should add is ro.product.model and the value is your Leeco Le 2 model. Mine was "Le X520". Restart your phone.
That's it!
You could pull the build prop out from adb and push it back into the path
We can also do it without root
Lol, what a worst guide.

Buildprop cannot write changes

Lineage 17 and last version Magisk installed.
Buildprop last version installed.
Buildprop shows SuperUser rights
I want the entry then
ro.product.system.brand
change from samsung to htc
Why? To get the Samsung Wear app working for Watch 3 ...
But I got an error.
Report from BuildProp:
Please ensure the app has root ...
But they are there and are displayed under properties ...
What am I doing wrong?
Problem solved with a workaround.
Finding: You don't need a BuildProp ...
After installing MagisK you have root rights.
As a file manager you take the TotalCommander and give it root rights.
You can then access the build.prop file in the system directory and change it with the integrated text editor.
Just stupid:
My SamsungWear app still does not start.
But this is another story...
