Buyers remorse

Bit of a rant and discussion.
I've bought this phone 4 days ago and was so happy with it's performance, look and general experience with it. Long have I waited for a phone to have a fairly powerful chipset like the Snapdragon 660 at an affordable price point to finally retire my Nexus 5 which has started failing on me and needed a replacement ASAP.
When I saw that I could pick this phone up for 240 euro for the 64GB version I thought that it was a decent upgrade over my beloved Nexus and that given that it is an Android One phone, it wouldn't be all that different from a Nexus. What I mean by this is update timely support for 2 years and security updates for another 1. Also, being that it's just as easy to unlock the bootloader as on the Nexus, I was expecting that the dev support would be nearly identical, specially at this price point.
Given that this is my first Xiaomi device, I was not aware of the time it took Xiaomi to release it's kernel source hindering the dev support at the device's prime. But all this wouldn't be as much of an issue since I mainly planned to stick with the stock ROM and root it to get a couple of more features that it doesn't have by default as well as use a couple of apps that make my life a bit easier and when the source lands, we would have it at the devices EOL so that the support could continue. For the whole two days, I was happy with this agreement until I found out about Xiaomi's newly anounced Poco F1. I had heard about this phone on the day that I've bought my A2, but dismissed it because of the rumored price of 400+ euro.
The announced phone has everything that this phone lacks for me which is a 3.5mm jack, memory card slot and a 1000 mAh bigger battery. On top of that, it has that sweet, sweet Snapdragon 845. To top all that off, it's promised that the kernel source code will land upon launch of the device on 29th August which along with the equally easily unlockable bootloader makes me think that the Poco F1 should've been the real successor to my Nexus. Digging a little bit I've found out that the Xiaomi phones are actually officially supported for quite some time by Xiaomi but that the base android version can be old. At the announcement of the F1 they promised to solve the base not being updated thanks to project Treble.
Now, when I was buying this phone, I was very budget conscious and the 240 euro at this point of the year was a bit of a stretch for me given the vacation part of the year, but I really needed a phone and thought that the 20 euro over the 220 price of the 32GB was worth it. Now, the F1 is announced at 300$ in India which would translate to 300 euro in my country, probably (waiting for the launch in Europe). That is another 60 over the A2, but you get so much better specs. Even tho the A2 is a lot more premium than the F1, given that I'm coming from the Nexus 5, you know where my heart is when it comes to "premium vs performance" thing. I'm not much of a camera guy, just need a decent one and both have great cameras but I am an audiophile and I quite enjoy the output out of the A2. The speakerphone lacks a bit of bass but it is very loud (specially compared to the Nexus 5) and the headphone output, even being a bit clunky with the USB Type C adapter thing, is really good. Looking at the keynote, I've seen that the F1 should have a good DAC for the headphones, but I've read that the front facing dual speakers are a bit tinny which is not an issue, just as long as the quality and clarity is acceptable given that for any high quality audio I would resort to headphones anyway. Only things that I'm not a fan on the F1 is the notch at the top and the curvature of the edges of the screen. The notch can be turned off without loss given that the display is larger than the A2 for the notch, but you're still left with those huge curves at the bottom edges.
Now having said all of this, I'm really tempted to sell my new A2 in favor of the F1. Are there any reasons or benefits to sticking with the A2 instead of switching over to the F1 that I'm missing?

i think you're overthinking and greatly underevaluating the a2 official support.
the f1 has just one problem, miui. and yes, you can fix that by unlocking and getting a custom rom. eventually.
it launches at the end of august, there will be at least another month before you can pick one up in europe at a decent price.
then you need to wait for an actual custom rom official ish team to pick it up, another 1-2 months before it's good enough for daily driver usage. ow wait christmas already?
or you could do what you did already and enjoy your phone, the a2 isnt a bad phone at all!
i got one too, saw the f1 news and i dont feel the same way at all. in europe it's gonna sell for at least 350euros. asuming you ever find one in stock.
if you really want to, mosr eu retailers will refund you fully within 30 days of your purchase you could return the a2 and wait for the f1, i wouldn't but it's an option...
p.s. i also think that even though the 845 is faster, the 660 is fast enough. perhaps even a 636 would be plenty. i find it hard to justify high end chips honestly.
p.s.2 and yes the f1 is gonna break the high end phones market. xiaomi will probably sell as many as it can make and big oems will have to think hard and strong before offering a phone that costs over 500 euros

All I can add is that there will ** Always ** be phones with better specs just around the corner. Did I say Always?
Phones can do so much now, which is good, but making a decision and being satisfied with it is increasingly difficult. I too have a
Nexus 5 (and 5x) in the past. The 5 I still have as a backup, has LineageOS on it and is doing great.
The most difficult thing for me is determining what I really need (separating it from what I want), and then finding a device that fits.
I love that the MiA2 is android one. It's basically Lineage, which is perfect for me. Does it make Network connections quickly? Absolutely, and very
strong connections at that.
Sufficient ram and rom? Works great for me... Snap660 is all I need, with what I do... Unlockable? perfect. Treble? perfect. Decent Camera? absolutely.
So my checklist is... sparse I know. But why pay for more than you need? Oh they'll sell it to you! And they're happy to make you believe you need it!
But what do you need? really?
That's the tough question to answer.

Those two answers above hit the nail on the head perfectly. I love my Mi A2 as it gives me everything I need in a phone.

Sure, sort of. On the one hand, the overall better specs of the F1 has me feeling like I missed out. On the other, though - I knew ahead of time that whatever phone I'll end up getting will be an Android One phone, so... that takes the F1 out of the picture, anyway. Also... I doubt the F1 will still cost ~300USD outside of India.
For a very long time I messed around with custom ROMs, rooting, etc. With the 5X I started feeling like I'm not missing much by not going that route. The most important thing for me is that the company whose reputation is on the line (in this case, Google - since Android One, and all) pushes out security and feature updates in a timely manner.
I also vehemently agree with the notion that "something better is always around the corner" - getting the latest and greatest is a game you'll always lose, unless you have a lot of disposable income. But then we wouldn't be comparing the A2 and the F1, would we?
Think about it this way - imagine what the Poco F3/F4 will bring in two-three years time, when we're due for an upgrade!

A bit OT but it's funny to see how many n5x users are gathering in the mia2 thread ^^ I'm very happy about my mia2 I was concerned about the battery but I get now about 6 hours SOT and that's all I needed. On top of this, the camera is really great. I think that in a few months we will have real nice devices with all we need anted from a phone. ???

Worth Picking Up OnePlus 5 Now a Days or Should I Be Looking at Something Newer

Title says it all. I'm looking to pick up a new phone as my current HTC M9 is finally showing its age.
This is what I'm looking for in a phone:
I am BIG on de-bloating and ad blocking so at minimum root is REQUIRED.
Not required but might as well be, 3.5mm jack
6" screen or smaller, would prefer to stay below 5.6"
must support US AT&T bands
some what new specs
would like to have a LED display
not a requirement but defiantly looked at is battery life/size
I use to be VERY big into installing custom ROMS and Kernels. I've slowly backed off a bit but still love to do it from time to time. My HTC is just running a de-bloated version of the stock developer ROM. My Shield Table on the other hand is running lineage OS as the stock ROM is garbage. Having custom ROM options for this reason makes me feel secure in my purchase which is another reason I'm looking at a OnePlus in general.
From the digging I've done there really isn't much that meets my requirements. The OnePlus 5 seems to be my best option that I can find. The one plus 6 goes outside of my size limits. From the reading I've done it seems like the spec upgrades to the 6 vs the 5 just aren't worth the size changes.
I've also looked at the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro and ZTE nubia Red Magic Mars. The Asus modding community is basically dead other wise it seems to be a great fit. As for the ZTE it just barley meets my size limitations and is a bit of a gamble being that I have no experience with this manufacture before. Other then that my only gripe with the device itself is the LCD display but I currently have a LCD on my HTC so its not to big a deal.
So would you recommend that I pickup a OnePlus 5 or should I be looking at something newer due to the 5 approaching 2 years old now?
If this changes anything I would be picking up the phone from Amazon due to OnePlus only selling their most recent device on their website. I.E. - No warranty / international version https://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-A500...0955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=mobile&sr=1-2

I would suggest looking for a Oneplus 6 that has proper camera implementation and other little issues resolved. Or a Google Pixel 2XL if you want something that will last you longer in terms of updates ( eBay is having many auctions lately). In general, I would not recommend buying a Oneplus 5.

Here is my opinion about your question.
I recently purchased a op5 about 10 days back. I could have picked up the 6T but until the onscreen fingerprint is a few generation old I dont want to go that way. 6 was out of question due to the notch. 5t has a great screen and my friend is using it but I NEED my fingerprint on the front.(It is my use case could be different for u)
+ the metal body and 3.5 mm jack.
Also, the camera is good enough for daytime shots and the 835 with 6GB is very zippy and I am sure it will remain so for a couple of years. And it does have a great dev scene so later when my device is a year or so old i can just unlock the bootloader and go custom. I love custom rom and used to do that the 1st thing once i got my phone but nowadays i just dont have the time.
Overall i love the phone and feels very premium. I cant give my feedback about the other models u have listed above but personally for me OP5 checks all the boxes.

Go for 5 since it meets almost all on your checklist and besides, there's not much difference from the OP5 to 6/6T in terms of performance. Been using my OP5(6/64(Latest Beta)) for more than a year now but I hadn't have any hiccups or slow performance issues in all the applications. Plus, up till now; The Rom / Kernel development for OP5 is still alive and kicking.
Only issue that I had with my OP5 is the "Device temperature too low" which is already a hardware issue(Motherboard) as per the local tech and honestly speaking, I believe it was my fault as well. Maximing the usage of my OP5 and kept on using it even if it's charging then while I'm sleeping, accidentally covered the phone with my pillow(while AFK on Ragnarok Mobile) thus causing the phone to heat up to the maximum temp(Too hot to even hold the phone with it's case on). As of writing, I'm still waiting for my phone to be fixed by the tech.

With the research I did today I ended up going with the Galaxy S9 (EXYNOS). Covers all my bullets, its a newer device then the OnePlus 5 with very close to the latest specs and was able to find the 128GB for $560. With it being the EXYNOS processor I should have no issues rooting and debloating it. And if I cant stand the stock rom it looks like they have good lineage OS development for it so I can just jump to that.

I just bought me a Oneplus 5 to replace my old Nexus 6. I bought the 8/128 variant in great shape for $260. I had the seller leave the bootloader unlocked for me so that I can easily root and flash ROMs when I'm ready. I haven't read into how any of that works on the OP5 or what I would need to do. I'd presume that I'd probably just boot into TWRP and flash magisk but I haven't checked any of that out.
So far, I absolutely love the phone. I knew my Nexus 6 was getting slow and was going to literally blow up at some inopportune time but I guess that I didn't realize how awful it was til buying the OP5. I haven't tried anything too taxing on it yet but this has been so smooth that it's hard to imagine anything else.

OP5 still a beast and will run all playstore apps for years to come. (6/8gb ram is insane for 99% of users)
-Also, less pixel (16:9 1080p) makes it faster and gives better battery performance.
-I love the out-of-display buttons, imo is the android signature.
- sound chip is awesome, big sell point for me on my ath-m50s.
I choose this phone especially to reduce my overcompensation (no, money isn't the problem). micro-technology is just killing the planet, so not changing my phone every year (hello apple fan boi) was a huge sell point for me.
Actually ram killed my previous phone, even with swap partition it was too slow ( HTC Desire Z from 2010). So I decided to get the best phone ram wise, xda support wise and chipset wise.
The only issue I have, is Oneplus refuse to sell batteries, this is just stupid, I mean yeah I get they want you to change phone model, or send them back your op for repairs, but still, how many people want to change the battery??? not much! so I dont get why they are so picky on that !
wife's OP3 still a very fast phone even in 2019, snapdragon 820, 6gb ram, but battery doesnt hold the charge. ebay batteries are ****, tired once, and got 1900 mha, phone shutdown @ 20% charge.
I love the op5, and if I dont loose/break it, I should be good for an other 4 years I believe ! :good:

I came from a Pixel XL, the OP5 looked great because of 8GB of RAM (which seems impressive for a phone), a better SoC, and a slightly lower resolution (better 3D performance). Along with all those things being true in-person, the speaker is also a bit better. It also has good LineageOS support.
My main reason for switching was for ease-of changing the battery if I needed to; the Pixel XL needed some adhesive heating and careful lifting of the screen; I wanted no part of that. The OP5 just pries open on clips which I find very nice, and the battery access is from the back.
I got a slightly damaged one (minor drop damage; insides and screen looks ok) for $200; the 8GB/128GB model.

What else can you suggest?

I'm using the mi a2 for a month now, and I love it, it's fast, the bugs are minor (and it was fixed for me in the january update) so there is no reason to not buy it.

For me, it's worth it, although some user reported some issues but mine is good so far, almost 4 months now..
About LOS, A2 still doesn't have official build or official support yet, maybe soon.. But A2 already got official Pixel Experience rom which is better than stock in my opinion.. You can try other rom like Havoc or Pixys, if you want more customization
And I think you should wait a bit more for Redmi Note 7, it's a bit better than A2, based on the spec sheet

What is with security level in the a2 - is it possible for me to use the tan generator app from my bank ... n ooted phones the app dont starts ....

I change my phone's about 2 times a year and I love the latest Galaxy phone's as of the s7 and s8 with the latter being my favorite phone of all time, but I also like to use budget phone's of time to time to see how they compare. I have used one plus one, OnePlus 3, xiaomi mi a1 mi a2 some Huawei mate series the max series etc. And let me tell you that this phone is equals in terms of quality to most of the phone's I have used sometimes it even exceeds my expectations.
The phone one flaw is the camera, BUT if you are not a camera head you won't notice the difference that much in your day to day casual photos. Now I do notice it but I also use DSLR and come off a expensive phone with amazing camera, but even in my case I don't mind it it is not bad it is ... Just meh or ok.
The software is amazing, it is not perfect as montly security updates slowly become less and less with time, but it is Android ... What can you expect. Yet I have rearlt expiriqnced any bugs or problems with my xiaomi mi a1 or mi a2.
Build quality is equals with all yestaryear high end smartphones (I am saying yestaryear because it is a metal phone not a glass phone). To be fair there is zero difference with a 1000 USD USD phone at all.
These phones are amazing. I don't understand how ppl can sit here and complain about anything about these phones. And when you add in the price... Pffff. Best bang for buck.
I'd recommend to get the 6GB ram version phone for longer future proof if you like to keep your phone snappy for longer and/or to keep your phone longer in general.

No worries on my side with this phone

tldr: if you plan for custom roms get a redmi or poco f1. mi a2 is meant to be used stock.
it's biggest problem for banking apps is the lack of nfc.
with mi a2 you pay extra for android one (included in the phone price). if you dont want the official support(stock) then get a phone that doesnt include this.
if you want a better android one go for a nokia

Using this phone for 4-5 months and it's been pretty good. However one downside I would say is the battery. If you're a heavy user it will be pretty tough to make it to a day without charging (especially gaming). Otherwise no issues.

I second that. Battery for me has been a killer with light use of 3 days no charge and heavy use a day with zero issues. Optimisation is key but you can easily get 5+ sot easy.
PS: I do not game on my phone I work on it and with it. So that might be something I cannot comment on.

I can recommend this for the price if you like android one. If you can pay more pick a pocophone (it's day and night)

As almost everyone has said, it is a good phone, specially for the price. Coming from a Nexus 6P I was happily surprised by the performance, I can play quite a few GameCube games on Dolphin and games like Tekken, FIFA, Asphalt 9 and Horizon Chase run really well. I haven't tested Fortnite nor PUBG, cause those are not my type of games, but I've seen videos where those run fine. The only downsides are the battery (could be bigger, but it can last a day with moderate use) and the lack of Camera2Api support out of the box. If you value Android One, this is a great phone, you could check some Nokia phones but those tend to be a bit more expensive. If you don't care about MIUI, you can get a Redmi Note 5 Pro or 6 Pro, or the Mi 8 Lite. Those have similar specs, bigger batteries and might be cheaper or the same price.

It's awesome phone for that price ... Especially if you flash some custom rom and root ...

I'm not thrilled. using it for a few months now. general speed is ok. unfortunately bug fixes (including maxed out CPUs) and updates are not xiaomi's priority. you get what you pay for i guess. (even though the hardware is ok for that price)
also: hands off Nokia of you ask me. check out the anger in their Nokia 8 forum for example. they are treating their customers worse than any other company.

The device is now currently selling for ₹9000 (presuming you are in India). If you spend a little more the current gen Redmi and Realme devices offer much better specs.
If you still want this phone I would recommend ResRemix, DOT OS, Havoc OS or Pixel Experience.

Depends on how much price you're getting, In some websites it goes under 7k with Bank offers and all that, It's a nice device for that price range. If you're going above 8.5k, then look aside, there are better devices in that segment of 10k or under. Hope that helps

Do not buy any Asus phone in 2019 because they do not have LTE band 41 (Sprint / Vodafone In) and even though the SD636 660 and 865 support LTE A, CA does not work. There are software glitches in M1, fewer on 340.

If you NEED big battery AND you live in a well signal area = yes, otherwise, the phone simply sucks.
If you choose this phone, use Havoc, Dot OS for M1 is slow af, and buggy (Titanium backup doesn't work after a while, lots of gcam also force stop), also not so good battery life, just tried it yesterday. Oh, and it's a clean flash, not dirty.

For 8k it's a good Device...with decent development

If you are not particular about custom rom and development, skip this phone. Otherwise it is a good buy.

I would say it depends upon your needs.
I am a person who prefers small to medium sized phones, but wanted a slightly bigger device for reading and media consumption that could still be operated via single hand. Max Pro M1 fit the bill pretty well.
Its got a nice screen, reasonable specs, lightweight stock UI, nice build quality and is affordable.
I found is the camera to be lacklustre, which can somewhat be improved via Google Camera app.
YMMV.

For 7.6k its definitely good buy,redmi note 6 pro with same SoC is 11-12k.

I bought the 3/32GB variant for Rs 6,066 after all the Bank Discounts and an exchange. So far, it's proving to be a good purchase. I'm really impressed with the battery life on it. The UI is smooth being stock Android. I've added a 64GB Micro SD card. It works than my brother's Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Front Camera is where it lacks but apart from that it's great.

Bought this phone in February this year for my mother, the price itself in Indonesia is quite a good deal if we consider its mid-class spec.
But... turns out it is a big disappointment. My mom only uses this phone for about 2 months and after that, she doesn't want to use it anymore, even she beg me to have her old Redmi Note 4 back instead of continuing using it (too bad, I already sold her old RN4). She said, this phone is too minimalist, the camera is very bad, no convenient features and the stock UI is simply boring.
So, she handed it back to me and I bought her the Galaxy M20 for a replacement and she is very happy with it. Now, this phone becomes my test phone to play with several custom ROM from our talented dev here in XDA community. Currently, I am using Pixel Experience Plus Edition with Darkonah Kernel. Sometimes, I also use this phone for a hotspot device when I have to travel overseas (i just have to put the local 4G sim card in it), so I can connect my primary phone and laptop while I'm roaming in the city.
However, if you consider buying this phone in 2019, my advice is, just DON'T... Except, you can get it with a very cheap price and forget the stock ROM, it is just BAD.

Did you try flashing the MIUI10 ROM, which makes it exactly like a Xiaomi phone? I come from Mi Max 2, got this phone for 3 main reasons
1)5000mah battery
2)2 sim and sd card
3) multi colored led notification light
I am quite happy with it. However the new Mi9T/k20 pro has AMOLED screen which are quite nice for decent price. Smaller battery and no rgb notification though.

However, if you consider buying this phone in 2019, my advice is, just DON'T... Except, you can get it with a very cheap price and forget the stock ROM, it is just BAD.

Did you try flashing the MIUI10 ROM, which makes it exactly like a Xiaomi phone? I come from Mi Max 2, got this phone for 3 main reasons
1)5000mah battery
2)2 sim and sd card
3) multi colored led notification light

Iam planning to tell my friend to buy one from his trip to India. There is nothing even half good i can buy for that price ( around 80 Pound) here in the UK . Dear Indian friends do you have any other phones to suggest for that budget ?

Only lack luster thing in this phone is- its camera performance. Ignore the trolls here, they might be just some teens, accustomed to Chinese vendors.
Slow battery charge is intentionaly done by Asus to keep its massive battery healthy.
Very few devices comes with sd636 in your budget.
I'll recommend moto one device if you want to compensate for camera and performance.
Skip realme, oppo, Mi etc. (You know why )
Htc u12+ and Nokias in budget but lacks battery power. Also upcoming month is festive month in India so may be some good device launch will follow.
Overall for an elderly I think its good device with good resolution and screen quality. With no lags. Stock rom is not as bad as this forum made it look like.

Replacement for my aging but still reliable Oneplus One

Hello!
I've had my Oneplus One since forever now, though it's still reliable and it still functional, I think it's time to plan on getting a new phone when it eventually goes to smartphone heaven or if I need a more modern hardware for my needs.
Oneplus One is fairly quite popular and still gets support from LineageOS(official and unofficial nightlies). A lot of people still use this phone.
My question is what other phones has the same kind of support? Or let me rephrase my question, What other phone or phones do you think will generate this type of long lasting support just like the Oneplus One?
I'm looking at those budget friendly phones from Umidigi and Xiaomi. Do you think they'll have the same long lasting support as the Oneplus One?

I also had a oneplus one since the first invite system. I went with mi 9t pro. Its like oneplus one at the time but without any compromise. No overheating, great camera and excellent battery life.

I was on the same boat. Just few months back i changed to OnePlus 7T and i feel the phone is good.
Camera performance is not upto the mark. It's ok.
Software wise it's good. Design and in-hand feel is just not bad. Nothing special.
I was planning to get the Samsung s10plus which was my number 1 in the list. My friend was using it and i had too used it for few weeks and decided to buy it. But last minute mind changed and i got OnePlus 7T. Samsung s10plus is better in every way.
Software support - i cannot confirm that newer OnePlus devices will get support like OnePlus one.

I've got the same response from Reddit, I guess it's good. My brother has the Mi 9T Pro and I haven't tinkered with it yet. But I'm looking at the K20 pro, 12GB/512GB version. The Mi 9T that's being sold here is just 12Gb/256GB.

My current issue with Oneplus is their phones are hella expensive now unlike before. Plus I hate notches. lol

I would buy redmi k30 instead of k20 premium. Price would be the same. K30 zoom edition advantages are 5G, gpu driver updates, better camera because of OIS, etc.

Too expensive for what it offers. Also in india Mi and Redmi phones comes with ugly ads(semi nude or inappropriate) So make sure if that isn't a issue for you.

Anyway, the Mi and Redmi phones that's being sold here doesn't have ads. My bro has the Mi 9T Pro and it doesn't have ads. Unless you're talking about ads from apps, is that the ads you're talking about?

Not the ads from apps. The system itself pushes ads.

The Pixel 4A is looking like it might replace my OPO (currently still a daily driver)

Hi, I've been using OpO from the launchment to 9 months ago. I decided to change it for the Mi9T Pro.
And after 7 months with Custom AOSP ROM installed I can say it was totally worthy for the price I paid at this moment and remove the MIUI system. It's like the Oneplus One but better but without been Oneplus

I am still using the oneplus one will never change

Im using it too, but as webcam and Aux mini monitor.
There're phone for 200€ that nowadays are better than the Oneplus One. That's why I switch. The mi9T Pro is one example, it cost me 322€ with taxes in Spain.

I have power and volume button broken, the only way to use opo is now without backcover, with battery exposed. Any advice?? I'm using as home-device, so not a big problem but...

i think u should get oppo realme x.. full goodnes of k20 or mi 9t with bigger amoled screen and ufs 2.1 ..pop up camera 48+16... i got the 6 /64gb version only for 160 usd.. ryt now the cheapest premiumlooking fon...with no system ads.. antutu score 226k

I have p30 pro as primary phone... Want to keep Opo as home-use

I had 1+One since the premiere. All these years it was my main device, now it's time for a change. I bought 1+8Pro.

Still using my opo with Android 10 in it.. works just flowless as when i brought it back when it got launched.. was having battery issues which is gone now after battery replacement.. still cant find a better options for opo..

i bought the opo from USA by invite and got it to india, after using that, i upgraded to oneplus 3, and now i have upgraded after many years to k20 pro, and i have changed the os to AOSPA extended on the day i got it and i am having a beautiful notch-less phone with pure android experience on top, also all banking and other apps are working quite well.

I certainly wouldn't say it works flawlessly these days... Since lineageOS 16 (Pie) the GPS has become very unreliable for some reason. On android 10 any app that uses location or maps API crashes immediately. Sad to say its a major deal breaker for me, I drive every day and have always relied on GPS navigation as a crucial function of my phone. I've been forced to move on to a Pixel 2 XL, but will be keeping my eye on development for this phone. It's unfortunate to see the GPS in such a sad state.

GPS had received some overhaul (apparently resulting in temporary breakage) in the past weeks. @ThunderThighs do you still see the issue with more recent builds?
