OneUI for A9 2018 - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Did you guys received the OneUI/Android Pie update? If yes, where are you from and when you received it? I'm from Romania and the update is sheduled for this month, but it's already 26th and nothing arrived.

I'm from Egypt and haven't received it as well.

i am from kuwait and receive pie update 2 week ago

Anyone using latest update for the Galaxy A9 2018? Like I want to know how stable it is, running on OS9 and any experienced bugs.

I don't have any problem with heating or battery drain .
Never goes above 50 degrees celcius and only comes near when doing stupidly hardcore tasks for phones. And the battery can last an entire day 6am - 10 pm with 2 hrs of youtube + some fb and email checking and will then have still around 20 percent battery left .
You sure there are no unwanted apps running in the background?

No, it was not announced. Only kitkat available. There's some phones, the same model, came lollipop out-of-box. Still no OTA available. Gibz97 has lollipop out-of-box, and he ported it here. That's the only possible way to get lollipop. Still, we have doubt of marshmallow coming to our device

It's a bug in the VIP version because it is ported from Meizu m2 NOTE while all previous versions were created for m2 mini specifically by Lunik.
Use the previous version if you want to.

unofficial build have those type of issue but official build is rocking. camera and battery also great on official build for official supported device... RR for Meizu is unofficial and ported that's why camera is not perform batter.:fingers-crossed:

in terms of battery and performance: my personal favourite is AOSP Extended. it is quit impressing and have batter RAM management as compared to RR or crDroid or ViperOS or Even Official FLYME 5 or 6.

Most Stable 8.1 So Far?

Is there any custom ROM 8.1 that is stable enough to flash?
Most of them have the same issues , but i think RR is the most stable of them all. Just my opinion , tho.
For me? Cosmic OS (if I'll be able to figure out why localization indicator is visible constantly)
Tried a couple and RR along with crDroid (not found here but on android file host) were the most stable for me. I also flashed pepsy kernel wich is very stable too.

[DISCUSSION] MSM Xtended ROM

how many others have found this unofficial release HERE to be one of the more stable releases for a custom ROM. I have been on this since i found it on AFH and have had the least amount of issues compared to a lot of others and it is feature rich as well. What is everyones opinions on it and who knows if there will be more builds?

Same here. I just found it very odd that it had a random build that was from what I can tell is totally stable without noticing bugs.
It is a very nice ROM. I wonder if @deedwar will be posting it here and/or continuing to build it?
I will be building it, it is my daily driver for the last few weeks. My problem is that I haven't been able to figure out an issue I have with updating the build. I need to factory reset to install a new build and that makes it a deal breaker for public release. When I fix that I will start an official thread.

Alright i have just fixed up the update process so when you flash from now on there shouldnt be a boot loop issue. I know it works from current build onto current build but not sure if it works from my old build i posted on AFH so just be prepared to lose everything (BACKUP). At any rate let me know how it works out. I will be posting an XDA thread for it later today so there will be regular updates. As for validus at the moment it isnt building for me i need to figure out why so will be a bit of a delay on that.

Which ROM is your daily driver (Devs&users)

Hey everyone I would like to know which ROM are you guys using as your daily driver.
I'm using havoc ROM as my daily driver because it has all the features and stable and 10 hours of SOT and regular updates.i tried Almost all the other roms but satisfied with havoc. superior os is almost close as havoc but laggy sometimes.
So Comment down which ROM are you using and why?
And what about your battery back up of your ROM (be honest ?
You guys can attach your home screen screen shot as well
Was using pixel experience CAF edition earlier, but as it turned to Aosp I switched on to havoc. Would have liked to continue with Pixel experience CAF edition though...
I prefer CAF roms more than Aosp roms. Any suggestions for stable CAF roms with least number of bugs?
Again I preferred havoc because of its customization and stability. Battery backup could have been better though.. I guess u can't have it all:silly:
I use havoc with pix3lify magisk module flashed. It gives me unlimited original quality photo backup on Google photos
