If I buy a Qualcomm version from the US, I can use it anywhere, right?
I used a US S4 in my region without issues, but it wasn't region locked, as I heard the Note 3 was.
Anyone know the specifics?
How do you get past the region lock on the USA S5s? In Europe, you have to activate a phone with a European carrier and make 5 minutes of phone calling to remove the region lock.
In the US, I assume you have to do the same (i.e. Activate and talk on a T-Mobile S5 for 5 minutes with a T-Mobile SIM before the unlock code will region unlock it)?
Has anyone tried this? Please let me know!

I would like to know if my Galaxy S4 is region locked or not. It was purchased in early May and runs the recently released KitKat update, it is the GT-i9500 model purchased in Asia. As I will be travelling abroad soon, I would like to know if it is region locked or not.
P.S. I am not asking about carrier lock, Samsung's region lock is the thing I'm talking about.
Samsung recently introduced Samsung Pay in India and I'm not sure if it will work if I import an S8 from a country that doesn't support Samsung Pay. Anyone can help me with this ? Also, what are the disadvantages of importing from another region aside from the region locking ? Can you also explain technical details like How CSC is related to a region etc ? Thanks.
My brother bought an s8 from Uk, he pre ordered it and got it from the samsung outlet and brought it home to Bangladesh. It isnt carrier branded or anything, when I tried using local sims (we have 3g sims and carrier bands shouldnt be an issue) it asked for a sim unlock code. Could anyone help me out?

I figured it out. My brother didnt make 5 mins worth of voice calls to disable the region lock that samsung uses. Now the problem is that i dint have a UK sim at hand
the s8 as far as iknow well the international variant is not sim locked in fact is unlock the problem is that is region locked on the s7 international variant i used an app called region lockaway but i dont think tgat work for the s8.
